To be 19 years old, your whole life ahead of you, your parents still alive, you’re at a festival, your friends are just as beautiful and free as you are, the sun is setting, music pounding across the fields, every atom of the earth pulsing with potential, understanding nothing, expecting everything. And then you wake up and you’re forty and just grateful that your depression seems to be under control.

I have wasted zero percent of my time watching this 1,000 times. Tears of joy. Trey’s aged hands delicately telling the tale on an acoustic. Sheesh what a moment.
This band got me through one of the toughest stages of my life- They were my anthem for overcoming addiction. Being a musician and knowing Trey's story, made them even more important to me. I even had a dream that I met Trey and asked for an autograph and he took a vinyl cover of "Joy" and signed it but instead of an autograph handed it back with the word ADDICT written but crossed out with a big X

Nah, I don't hear any autotune. I hear an occasional passing note that's not bang-on, which says to me: this is all organic. Trey has always had a fantastic ear. I think in the past couple of years he has just pursued a level of vocal control that wasn't as important to him when he was younger.

Perfection guys! Amazing. I am a new Phish listener, Knew of the band but never really listened. Now I am massively hooked.
Yeah, they are getting old, but still sound great. One of my all time favorite bands. Thanx for posting this.
That’s one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever witnessed.
I saw you boys play at Mississippi nights in the early nineties in Missouri. There couldn't have been more than one hundred people there. I'm really proud of your success gentlemen. Way to go.
I'm floored. The wind tickled the treetops outside my home as this song wound down, and I feel utterly serene. Trey, Page, a Martin and a Wurly, all playing from a barn in New England-with sterling coffee service to boot... Does it get any better than this?
I get chills whenever I hear the first few notes of this beautiful song.
This song hits the feels. I saw Trey play it at Alpine Valley last month and didn't get it on first listen. I think a lot of people can identify with the feeling of not wanting much in particular in life just genuine connection with someone, friend or lover. I'm in the stage of my life where my friends and I drifted apart and I have plenty of positive acquaintances but long for that deep connection. Beautiful performance too of course.

I listen to this song most nights as I'm going to sleep. It's calm and serene and you have to keep manifesting that hopeful energy.
This is what good music sounds like without autotune...
What an awesome band - with the success they've had it's remarkable that after almost 40 years they're still friends, just normal guys playing great music, sounding as good as ever.

We need a new political party bc the elephants & donkeys are just different sides of the same coin despite the division they sew in the people. The donkeys are right of center in every other western society but the way the elephants tell it you’d think they were yellow bellied commies hellbent on destroying our special brand of dog eat dog capitalism.
Beautifully performed, gents. Sometimes a captivating song, played in a simple arrangement and sung from the heart, is all we need. Thank you.

Beautiful version , thanks guys!
Saturday 10 day ago in India we were celebrating the goddess with amazing music and dance and than we jammed and police came and destroyed the beauty. After one hour and one of our friends arrested, the instruments and equipment taken a bunch of us went back to my place to release, playing cards and in the background the Phish guys were playing from Magna ball. The one real musician of the tribe after a while he put a smile on his face under his delighted sleep eyes and just sad, with full satisfaction:"they are goooooood..." Yes they are and...more than this I will not ask Faced with mysteries dark and vast Statements just seem vain at last Some rise, some fall, some climb To get to Terrapin Love you all

Brings back some memories. Great tune off a great record.
OMG a live show is on the top of my bucket list
Love this song! Our band plays this one at the end of every practice.
This is fantastic. More of these... 👍
There is pain involved with this collaboration. It’s palpable to me. Two men who spent decades working together and the scars that inherently come with that. Then trying to re-meet up for a cup of coffee. Lots of awkwardness lots of trouble in the water under the bridge. But once they get to the thing they always agreed on it’s a thing of beauty.
Way back my high school senior class chose this as our song for graduation, overwhelmingly, but the school wouldn’t let us use it lol
Time for my nap …I’m old…oh Trey and Page, we’re the same age…I can relate. You two are virtual buds…love you.
