In his initial matches he seems to celebrate like Imran Khan.By the time changes his style and also the course of wicket taking in one day cricket as before him (from 70 to mid 80)many great bowlers of the time hardly took one or two wickets in a spell.

Those were lucky who watched Wasim Waqar and Shoaib bowling together live

what to learn, you cant swing by a foot distance just by watching or you cant bowl at 150 kph by just watching.

Watching this in Jan 2018, the deadly trio of Waqar , Wasim and Shoab, each one is unique in their stride slingy and whippy action and deadly accurate extreme pace. Watching Waqar Younus uprooting stumps is poetry in motion.

That was one of the best phase of Pakisthani cricket with a cracking bowling line up along with a formidable batting and decent feilding pack..loved this set of players and always feard them whenever they were against us 🇮🇳

What's more shocking is that SL, when winded up, still had a run-rate of 4.68 and the required scoring rate from there was just around 6.5, meaning that had the Lankans kept wickets in hand, it could've been a good contest.

the same trio destroyed all the team not only at home but at the opponent home. Pakistan is blessed to have such amazing bowlers. May God Bless Pakistan.

Waqar was a spent force then. He was incomparable as a wicket taker from 1990 to 1994 and then began losing it in 95, 96 and 97. After that he was a shadow of his former self. Remember the 90-94 period I m talking about, his strike rate stats during that time stands out against everyone.. even today after all those relatively unproductive years for him from 98-2003, his strike rate still is amongst the top 3 of all time

Only the Pakistan team can deliver such a blow. First a comprehensive performance with the bat almost reaching 300 runs at a time where reaching 300 was difficult for all teams, but then bowled sri lanka from 52-1 to 78 all out... 8 wickets in 16 runs!

That was arguably the best fast bowling attack i have ever seen.

I was fortunate enough to be in my youth to enjoy all these legends in one team when they played. I doubt Pakistan will be able to ever produce this many legends in their team in future.

Cricket was game of legends back in 90s and earlier 2000. Really miss those days 😭. You will still feel excitement if you watch them. We are still waiting for a quality of that type of player's to come specially fast and swing bowler's.

Of course, he being an opener means he has to face the most dangerous bowlers, top bowlers from all teams targeted him and took him down quickly knowing how dangerous he is. Also, his batting style is aggressive which mean more prone to getting out quickly.

Waqar bowled awesome in this match. His and wasim's bowling were always poetry in motion.

Whole Sri team got out within 17 overs. That too on Sharjah pitch. Just look at the depth of this Sri team. No wonder from 2002 till 2014 Sri made it to the SF/F of almost every ICC limited overs event. ODI & T20 WC both. It took 8 exceptional deliveries from 3 great bowlers to get these men out. Especially Shoaib to Sanga & Waqar to Mahela..

Shoaib was dangerous in his prime. Wasim was a magician. But Waqar in his prime in early-to-mid 90s was a monster.
