Washington State, Oregon State Heading to Expansion Big 12 by 2027 Due to Realignment Twist is Goal

Спорт

If Washington State and Oregon State were to join the Big 12 Conference in an expansion, it would bring several potential benefits and contributions to the conference:
Geographic Expansion: Adding Washington State and Oregon State would extend the Big 12's geographic footprint into the Pacific Northwest, tapping into new markets and fan bases in that region. This expansion could increase television viewership, merchandise sales, and overall conference exposure on the West Coast.
Competitive Balance: Both Washington State and Oregon State have competitive athletic programs in various sports, including football and basketball. Their inclusion would add depth to the Big 12's roster of teams and enhance the overall competitiveness of the conference.
Rivalries and Matchups: The addition of Washington State and Oregon State could create new rivalries and matchups within the Big 12. Traditional rivalries between these schools and existing Big 12 teams, as well as potential cross-conference matchups, could generate excitement and draw attention to the conference.
Academic Prestige: Washington State and Oregon State are respected academic institutions with strong research and academic programs. Their addition would align with the academic standards of the Big 12 and enhance the conference's reputation as a leader in both athletics and academics.
Financial Impact: The inclusion of Washington State and Oregon State could potentially increase revenue opportunities for the Big 12 through expanded media rights deals, sponsorship agreements, and other financial partnerships. Their presence in the conference could attract new corporate sponsors and boost overall revenue streams.
Overall, the addition of Washington State and Oregon State to the Big 12 would bring geographic expansion, competitive balance, new rivalries, academic prestige, and potential financial benefits to the conference, enriching the overall experience for student-athletes, fans, and stakeholders alike.

The #1 topic of conversation for a Big 12 podcast at this time MUST be the KU to the SEC real discussions. This would take the Big 12 biggest revenue generator by far, #7 in the nation this past year and top 25 over 25 years. It removes THE basketball blue blood, inventor of game is 1st ku coach, ku in top 2 all time. Ku is undeniably a rising football power with 9 wins, including a bowl win last season. KU is recruiting stronger and stronger. Strong rivalry with Missouri but also strong ties to Texas, A&M, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. Contiguous to SEC. AAU. Several schools are championing KU to SEC. Even rumors the B1G may swoop in first. Losing KU would be a MASSIVE loss as conference founder and die hard Big 12 supporter who has no choice but to accept......

Plus the ACC might implode and the Big12 should get Cal, Stanford, SMU, Louisville, Pitt, Syracuse, Boston College, Virginia Tech, and Miami from the ACC for their rivalries with WVU. The SEC should get FSU, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Duke, and UNC for their rivalries with teams like Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama and South Carolina. Wake Forest, NC State, and Virginia to the B1G for number reasons. Notre Dame staying independent is about as reliable as Switzerland staying neutral.

@@ej8710you know that four of Oregon State/Wazzu’s former conference mates are going to be in the Big 12 now right? The Big 12 is going to be the ONLY major conference in the Mountain Time Zone going forward next year, as Utah, BYU, Colorado, Arizona, AND ASU are all members of the league. Plus the revenue is WAY BIGGER than any other opportunity those two schools could get anywhere else sans the Big Ten and SEC (which are NOT happening). Oregon State and Washington State would be INSANE to turn down membership offers from the Big 12. Really? Pac is over with, done no more... time to move on and compete at the top level in the BIG12! Oregon st, and Wash St, are going to the Big12 by 2027, and the Big12 will come after Gonzaga too Getting an opportunity to play in the Big12 a power conference, and start making power money down the road and play on a National & International level IS WHAT SAN DIEGO STATE NEEDS to stay relevant and compete in ALL sports nationally ...or maybe your happy with the crumbs off the Kings table. The Big 12 Conference announced the launch of Big 12 Mexico, the Conference’s first international extension that will see Big 12 men’s and women’s basketball, women’s soccer and baseball games held in Mexico. Big 12 Mexico’s first contest will be a men’s and women’s basketball matchup between Kansas and Houston, held in Mexico City at Arena CDMX in 2025. Following the launch of Big 12 basketball in Mexico, Big 12 women’s soccer and baseball will participate in exhibitions against clubs from the region. Yes, and who do you think would be a natural fit for Mexican citizens to get behind, our AZTECS, the Big12 is a natural landing spot, for SAN DIEGO STATE to become apart of, and you have to commend the B12 conference and all it's aspiring to become. This would build international & national Brand recognition for San Diego State. Also, think about all the football, basketball and SDSU merch the University would be selling $$$$$$$$. Hopefully we'll get a second chance to get into the BIG12 and capitalize on it! Go Aztecs

When this PAC-12 breakup was announced it was supposed to be football only. That's what everyone was told Tara V from Stanford wbb was mad when she found out after that it was all sports. So she retired at the end of the season. This breakup was media money period. Students weren't asked if they wanted to fly across the country twice a week in basket ball study sleep. It's awful what was allowed to happen to the PAC12 all because the media didn't want to come all the way to the west coast. MEDIA $ sold the PAC12.

The problem is if we take Gonzaga I wouldn't take a 2nd team in Seattle. Too overloaded in one market. If we take WAZZU, then I say no to Gonzaga. Without WAZZU we would still have a block of 6 with Arizona, Arizona State, BYU, Colorado, Oregon State & Utah. I love the idea of Oregon State & Okie State having an outright Halloween OSU Orange & Black Rivalry . Speaking of NEW & OLD rivalries DUKE/UCONN, PITT/WVU, LOUSIVILLE/CIN, MIAMI/UCF. Oregon State has gotten perfectly fine viewership numbers, it just happens that they had their worst coach/rebuild and media distribution right at the moment it hurt them the most. Turning the Big 12 into PAC 12 lite is a fantastic idea. It worked out so well for the PAC 12! I mean creating a voting block of 6 former PAC teams is a really good idea! Big 12 should go for it immediately.! Besides I’m sure both Fox and ESPN will be falling over themselves to give the Big 12 $62 million a year in addition media payout for these 2 teams! On the other hand the Big 12 is a dumping ground conference for programs that no other power conference wants. So WSU/OSU would fit right in!

If the ACC loses more than 3 teams to the B1G/SEC they will be NEXT in the ACC IF the ACC loses just 4. If the ACC loses 5 or more... idk what will happen with UConn if 5 or more ACC teams leave. In that case, the ACC may move SOONER on taking teams out of the Big 12 and leave UConn out. Getting those Denver, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Oklahoma City, Cincinnati and Huntington Markets may take precedence. Getting into Orlando or getting the rest of Dallas/Ft Worth might be worth more.

Now going to Washington and Oregon is just too much we need to add the schools on the East Coast first. If we can't get the ACC schools then add UConn Memphis Marshall and Southern Florida. Not the best teams but we got to cut this travel time down what are we adding Hawaii next.
