Washer Troubleshooting: Front-Load Washer Won't Spin - How to Fix Your Washer | PartSelect.com

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

One of the most common problems you'll run into with a front-load washer over the course of its life, is that it will no longer spin. This will prevent it from running properly. If you don't know much about appliances, it may lead you to believe you need to call someone to fix it, or even worse, replace your washer altogether. But don't make that call just yet, because with a few simple tests, you may be able to figure out what's causing your washer not to spin, replace the part yourself, and save yourself a ton of time and money!
In this video, Steve will walk you through some of the parts that could be damaged or malfunctioning, and resulting in a no-spin symptom. He'll show you where they're located, and how to test them, so you can get your washer running again in no time!

Exactly what I needed - thanks! This is the only video I found that actually shows how to test for a defective door latch.

My Samsung F Loader will spin without clothing, it attempts to reposition/balance but when the RPMs start to ramp up it recycles back up a few mins (from 14 back to 19 for example, or from 8 back to 11, pending the wash spin setting selected). Drain works, clean. I'm guessing it's that the shocks are worn (every 4 years +/_) or the spider arm is cracked due to the Galvanic shock of the dissimilar metals in the spider arm (high Zinc content = sacrificial "anode") and the stainless drum ("cathode"). These arms are notorious for failing, as if it was a manufacturing flaw in using poor metal in the spider arm, or intentional design flaw to sell more washing machines (built in obsolescence). Shocks are $35 (amazon) or up to $80 - $100 for OEM. Spider arm = $125 new/reclaimed to $200 NIB (note you will need screws & thread lock, sold individually oem) Shocks 1 hour repair Spider arm 1 day repair (complete disassembly required), at least 1 of my days. Why no mention of these potential well known problems, as if they want you to replace everything before you get to the problem.
