It's sadly typical in kids whose parents abandoned them. It's no different than someone idealizing and deifying a dead bf/gf or spouse who died young. It's a coping mechanism. The remaining parent still has to be the bad guy sometimes, it's part of parenthood, so it's easy for the kid to go "other parent wouldn't have punished me", "other parent would have let me go to the show", etc.
"you just don't get Rock N Roll!" "APPARENTLY YOU DON'T EITHER" 😂
I've witnessed a milder version of this in real life.... nothing criminal but having a child feel some sense of unyielding loyalty to an absentee parent who could basically care less about them. It's really sad.

The look on the lawyer's face at 3:18. She's thinking, "What the hell's going on here?" She slowly started to realize it, and like she said at 3:45, she didn't know what was going on. She didn't want to know what was going on. By that point, she wanted out of this whole mess. When he said, "We're done here," the lawyer agreed. The proof of her client's innocence had been revealed. She was also done with the family drama that had just occurred. Or should I say "so-called family" drama. All the girl wanted was her father's love. That's what all girls want. She never got it from him, and she got a huge slap to her face from him about how he really felt about her when he said what he said and left.

Negligent homicide per New York 125.10, four years in the state pen and a massive fine. As long as no intention for the murder can be proved, outside of being a dumbass, that’s all you’d get. If the court could conjure up a higher charge to appease the prosecution for the sheer number of fatalities, you’d get more time, certainly not the needle. In the Station nightclub fire, in Rhode Island, both the band manager and club owner got Involuntary Manslaughter, the manager on a plea bargain, the owners on a plea of no contest, got fifteen years, four to serve, eleven suspended, and three probation. The other owner got ten year suspended, three probation, and five hundred hours of community service.
