this song has been so important to me since it’s release. i can’t believe it’s been this long now. a very special song.

This song is so relaxing, makes me think about everything . Life choices, mistakes I've made. Regrets and accomplishments. Gosh. It's so overwhelming .

I think this is about someone coming to terms with the fact that they've grown apart from their significant other. They're reluctant to share that with this person, though, because they don't want to hurt them. However, trying to pretend like everything's OK proves to be even harder. And, ultimately, they leave their lover, ending the relationship. Despite things not working out, the departing lover will look back on the relationship with appreciation, treasuring the memories they made.

Spot on... and if you follow the whole course of Within/Without, I think there's a reason this song "A Dedication" is the closing track. The whole album is a journey of stages in a relationship. From first contact, lust/obsession, convergence, elation, conflict, and ultimately separation/reflection. Basically, "Within/Without", In Love and Out of Love.

this song reminds me of someone going through a break up, looking back at all the great times they had, and how their relationship progressively got worse over time until they grew apart until they just couldnt do it anymore. blah

Mr. E.W. Greene Jr. easily puts out the most consistently sublime music of any artist of recent memory. His godfather of chill wave title is aptly suited.

this video has literally everything im nostalgic about from my youth... cottages, fireworks, nature, girls asleep on the couch while i look at them from the doorway in a hazy light. everything..

To me it feels like Christ is speaking directly to me and I feel the love that is around me and I selfishly take for granted. This song inspires me.

It's 5 in the morning, and I'm sitting next to the possum that hangs outside my house. He's dirty, but misunderstood. There is a calming nature to this song, I think we both enjoy it.

Evan passed away the other day. It's unknown as to how, but it's so heartbreaking to say the least. I was lucky enough to meet him around the time the business started opening up. I didn't know him well, but he was one of the original few that greeted you as you walked through the door. I dedicate this song to him. Because no one deserves to have their life cut short. He will be remembered greatly by everyone, and hopefully we'll be able to see him on the other side some day... Rest in Peace Evan

It's been 10 years since I first heard this song and It is fascinating how much time has passed. When I listen to it I seem to go back in time to those special moments in my life.

This IS music...true heartfelt melody. Beautiful and makes me feel blessed I experienced it in my life. Wow.

there is so much pain in this song. you can feel that numbness in the back of your head seeping in, and yet you still desire to fight it, to fight for what you used to have, to hold onto that dreamland where you believed in love and passion and you thought you would never let go. and yet deep down you know there's nothing you can do when things are falling apart, no matter how much you love each other. one of those rare songs that expresses a mood that we may all find ourselves in some day...

When you listen to all the tracks of within and without, and you reach track 10 ( this one), you must admit that he saved the best for last... What a fantastic outro!!!

The outro melts me to the core. I always end into deep Oblivion thoughts but it's all good. I will forever love this song.

Reminds me of how badly i miss her. That special someone i lost because of my foolishness. I used to listen to this album with her all the time, those seemingly endless nights in my room. Now i am alone, the drugs dont make me happy anymore, and ive never felt closer to giving up. Oh well, such is life. I'm not done living yet.
