I not only like watching a grown man put together jigsaw puzzles, I love it!

I could be wrong, but I think the idea might be to do as much as you can of the front, leave the handful of black and turquoise pieces out, then flip it. Study the clocks to figure out the pattern. Then once you have it, fit in the remaining pieces from the back. Which I think actually sounds like a cool concept!

I don't blame for giving up with that clock bull. That would have driven me absolutely nuts!

I think you were supposed to do the front, leave those 9 or 10 teal and black pieces, flip the puzzle, solve the clock pattern, and use that to determine the placement of the last pieces. Definitely not doable without doing most of the front first. Sorry you had a bad experience, was looking forward to how this one works. =(

I was just about to say the same thing. Finish front until the 98% was done, then flip and solve for the remaining 10-12 pieces teal and black pieces.

This was my thought as well. That this isn't a double-sided puzzle that can be solved twice, once on each side. Rather it's a puzzle that requires you to work with both sides to solve it. Like you said, put all the front side pieces in that you know go in the right place and then flip it over and use what you have to figure out the clock pattern and then use that to place the last several squares. Perhaps the puzzle needed clearer marketing if this was the case!

Agree! The little blurb said neither side could be finished without the other side. I feel bad his experience was so bad because of a misunderstanding. That’s the worst!

the image within the image concept is really interesting. if modern day buffalo games came out with one i would like to try it. the front image was really nice, but it actually looked really cool with the mosaic look, like a work of art in a museum. i almost wish you hadn’t disassembled this one so you could glue it and frame it like that

I have the first episode of this puzzle series and had the same experience as you. The front was fairly easy and enjoyable with about 6-8 small squares that were very difficult to place. I also flipped it and took a photo (the back image concept is the same with clocks - I am curious if the hand pattern is the same or different on the three episodes), but couldn't work out the pattern. I didn't try and put it together from the back only yet, I was hoping you would do this video so I could decide!! I did have to glue several of the pieces back together as the image was peeling off with age, and I know I accidently rotated one of the small pieces when I glued it (UH OH) so at least one clock hand will be incorrect on the back.

This can't be anywhere as hard as that one sudoku I solved a while back that started with 0 given digits and 8 of the 9 squares misted over (as in you couldn't see the info in it) until you entered the right digit close enough to the mist and it cleared. Great sudoku concept and was really fun to solve. This puzzle would have a lot more info if you'd used the hint on the box to solve it. I think you were supposed to solve the image on the front and than flip it to put in those identical pieces and I also suspect you were close to solving the clock pattern. I would've approached the solve like that from the start. The box says you can't solve the pattern of the clocks without solving the puzzle and you can't complete the puzzle without solving the pattern. Solving the front is what you did (outside of those ~10 pieces you couldn't just place, but that was the intent, I think). I think this puzzle has a great design and uses logical/critical thinking and problem solving (and using written hints) as well as just the regular jigsaw solving strats. I'd love to try one but I feel like the shipping would be absurd to where I live so it's not gonna happen for me.

Interesting concept but one that was ultimately frustrating. The front was alright but the back seems to have been a nightmare. Not surprising, but sometimes jigsaw ideas don't take off and flop. I tried a jigsaw called Dresser Cats whereby all the pieces were edge pieces. I didn't get very far with it. I can only find three puzzles like this on Google, the other two were called Cat Spread & Snowman & Friends. BV Leisure appear to have been the producer. I think they were produced in the 1980s.

The back was never meant to be solved by itself. He was supposed to solve the front as much as possible, holding the 6 teal and black pieces, then solve the clock riddle from the partial solve, then use that to assemble the last pieces that are intentionally ambiguous from the front. This was obvious to me before he even turned the puzzle over, kinda disappointing that he couldn't figure out something so obvious. You only have to look at one of the obverse pieces to realize that it's impossible to place any of the centre squares without the information on the front half. Even the repeating pattern of the clocks indicates the same thing. Use a bit of logic next time!

😂😂Your videos always make me laugh! I just passed up a brand new Shmuzzle at the thrift store this weekend. It looked paper thin and the image was a pile of coins, so not very fun to me. I feel like with the one you did here, the clock side was never really meant to be done by sane people. But who knows.
