    The good thing about buying something beat on is you don't worry about using it. I would really start low balling these sellers when they try selling these toys that are rougher than a cob. House looks good landscaping really helped you have a nice home and lots of land very nice.

    I always stop in the way home at the local car wash to use the engine degreaser on everything and the hot soapy water to clean each machine before getting it home. Then it dries on the drive home and comes much cleaner than a home power washer. Easier to work on right away. Great job as always! Enjoy your videos!

    I've heard people say that they are a little underpowered but definitely dependable. The one good thing I did hear somebody say once and it was a KZreadr that the Rhino was narrow enough to get down most of the trails where are the other one couldn't go! That would be perfect for the property pulling around your big grass cutter. Many blessings to you and your wife as always.

    Those machines are pretty bullet proof, I was a yamaha mechanic for a while, when you do the engine tear down, make sure to pay close attention to the cylinder walls, cam lobes, and cam bearing surfaces. Judging by that dirty air filter, the engine may have been injesting dust and dirt, causing the smoking. When these machines are maintained properly, they do run forever. Great video Joe.

    We have a 2004 Yamaha Rhino 660. The thing has been through so much and refuses to die. It was involved in a rollover when my sister tried drifting it with three of her friends in it and the tire blew so it caused it to flip. It was driven into a tree by my sister in law. And it was involved in a huge accident when I let my girlfriend drive. We hit about 70 kmh when we hit this steep corner. It rolled a few times, I flew out the side and fractured my ankle and really messed up my knee. The thing was just flipped over, gas line had fallen off so just had to put that back on. Still runs strong. Will not die.

    Enjoyed that . I don't know if you remember , about a year ago you had a Yamaha motorbike with - I believe - a Bosch Siba Dynastart system . It ran , then didn't run , then ran , then didn't run , and you gave up on it . Not sure what you did with it . ( Maybe buried it next to the other one ) I was working on a Zundapp scooter with exactly the same problem . I have traced the problem to the ignition switch , which can react badly to being operated in starter mode for too long - overheats - becomes loose - and creates the problem you had with it . The solder partially melts and lets the contacts give intermittent performance . Hope this information helps .

    You are correct. It uses the same drive train as the Grizzly of the same year. I have an '04 Grizzly, and '06 Grizzly and an '06 Rhino. Specifically because they all use the same maintenance parts because I'm too lazy to have spares from multiple manufacturers. I can have one spare of all the typical wear or breakage items and use them on whichever machine needs it.

    Not sure if it’s been mentioned, but the early Rhinos didn’t have that gauge. That’s why the lack of miles. These didn’t have an hour meter or odometer factory. The “gauge” that was in there was replaced, which was just a cluster of lights. Something folks should be aware of when looking to buy a 2004-2006. I think 2007 they started with the LCD gauge.

  • @sandmanbub
    @sandmanbub11 ай бұрын

    Joe, if you have a band saw, you can remove the side walls of an old car tire or motorcycle tire and cut the tread to fit the black plastic bumpers in the front of your machine. Plastic loses it's solvents by evaporation and becomes brittle over time. The vertical rubber bumpers would make that a non issue. Drill mounting holes the diameter of the bolt shakes and drill a larger diameter hole the size of the bolt heads to counter sink. Whoop!

    Ceramic coating after a good wash on you and your wife’s vehicles will keep the water beading off the paint and plastic so when you can just use water to spray off the dirt and grime and it last like 6 months especially if you have salt roads in winter ceramic coat em use a pressure washer after that for quick washes amazing

    About those weeds you have in the field. Pretty neat. From Wisconsin agriculture site: In midsummer, the tall flower stalks of common mullein, Verbascum thapsus, begin to poke up, making this common weed in the family Scrophulariaceae highly noticeable in the road cuts and waste areas where it thrives. Native to Europe, northern Africa and Asia, it was probably introduced to North America several times as a medicinal herb. In the mid‑1700’s it was used in Virginia as a piscicide (fish poison). It spread rapidly and had become so well established by 1818 that a flora of the East Coast at that time described it as a native. It had reached the Midwest by 1839 and became widely naturalized on the Pacific Coast by 1876. Today common mullein is distributed throughout the U.S. and Canada wherever the growing season is at least 140 days and rainfall is sufficient (50-150 cm), especially on dry sandy soils. Common mullein is typically found in neglected meadows and pasture lands, along fence rows and roadsides, in vacant lots, wood edges, forest openings and industrial areas.

    WAIT!!!! Before you tear into the engine to figure out the burning oil issue, check your air box and carburator to make sure that oil isn't getting pushed up into the air box from the crank case!!! These rhino 660s and teryx 750s both have a common issue with excess crank pressure. The solution is to put an oil catch can between your crank case vent and your air box. My teryx 750 was doing this same thing and the entire inside of the air box would be coated in oil. This would only happen after the engine had warmed up and reved to high rpms. I went through a quart of oil in only a day or two of riding. Obviously you might have a separate issue but definitely check on this one before you start digging.
