Owned a DC2R and while I do like the look of a DC5 and yes a K20 is simply a better stock engine....I am sorry the Vtec Crossover on a B18c is music to the ears not to mention how they sound up at redline.

Yeah I love the B18 stock, but a tuned K20 is a beast. I loved my Dc2, liked my Dc5 and loved my Fd2 tuned.

Dc2 will always be my favorite.

Wish Honda would bring back their old high revving screamers 😢

Dc2 and Dc5 are race cars for the street, engine, chassis, gearbox, brakes, seats, etc, you just can't get anything like this unless you go Gt3 Porsche and crazy money...

Personally I like the look of the DC5 more. But never driven a Type R model. 😢😢😢 I would like to experience one of these DC5 - R models one day. Anybody got stories to share of both platforms?

I used to really dislike the dc5 chassis. I owned a few gsr’s in my 20’s. Two that were b18c5 swapped and one with a full jdm front clip swap. I was die hard dc2 until I drove a bolt on dc5r in Florida for a week on trip. It was love at first drive. With a full ohlins coil over setup on spoon wheels, a mild cam with springs, retainers and port and polishing, this thing sang to 9k and the added torque was a much appreciated addition. With only 250-ish hp, it was a backroad beast.

I had a DC5 with Ohlins as well. (And older Hondas to compare) It was pretty much perfect for a street setup.

i love my 05 DC5 Type S. i yearn for a type R some day

I own both a 02 Integra Type S k24 turbo and a 2000 Integra DB7 and I love them. 2 totally different driving experiences to say the least but I love the simplicity and reliability of them. Great great cars!

Owned both, a blue DC5 (c-pack blue seats) and a 98 spec DC2 in CW. Miss the hell out of both of them.

the dc2 is the better chasis but the dc5 is the better engine dc2's sound iconic, but the dc5 can sound unique with the k24 frank setups ideally, both; if you can only get one, get the one you can since theyre becoming more and more rare to find in decent condition

Live in the UK and own a Dc5 type r its been garaged since 2018 due to my financial situation, i was never going to sell it 😅 this summer its finally coming out again to be used and shown the love it deserves cant wait 😁

I used to own a DC5R....it just doesn't compare to the DC2R....it's so much more nimble & more fun to drive....I do believe the DC2R is lighter than the DC5R but the thing that makes the K20A special is that the engine itself is lighter than than B18C despite the increase in displacement.

I was kind of blown away by the DC5, simply how much further ahead it is than the RSX Type-S. It's a different league. The car just feels solid and nimble, you said it right.

@@4bangermafiaI am a current DC2R owner. DC5R is absolutely faster, Ive only driven a DC5 type S (the JDM spec Integra, not the RSX) so I havent got a perfect comparison to a DC5R, but I think its the rawness of the driving feel that makes the DC2 so revered, rather than the outright performance.

Driven and thrashed both to bits, yeah dc5 stock for stock is faster but it sure doesn't have the same feeling or emotion as the dc2r

This is exactly what I said in my 2023 Integra review.. New Civic Type-R engine with all of the above you mentioned.. would be lovely.

While I've driven both (in the UK), the DC5 is a much better looking car IMO

The FD2r is the last great N/A Vtec. If you know you know...

When the RSX came out, I did a direct comparison with my DC2. The RSX was longer, taller, and narrower. The car was not as fun to drive as the DC2. The engine/trans do have more potential, but it's definitely not as rewarding to drive as the DC2 in stock form.

I own a 92 civic eg with the B18C. All original Cali car too. I wouldn't trade this beauty for the world. K motors will always be king. No doubt. But the B series is what made Honda performing cars today. And nothing beats revving to 9K. 9KALLTHEWAY!

I'm not sure the S2000 is considered a lagend.. but I dont think its less legendary than the integra.. so nah I'd say the S2000 was the last Legend from honda

Dc5 owner here and I have to admit, the Dc2 is a better chassis. But, the Dc5's K20A is leaps and bounds ahead of the B18C. Not to say I don't love the sound of the B series' crossover into Vtec, but I prefer the K20. Dc5 with a few simple mods is a far better car, I'd only get a Dc2 to dump a K24 into it. Looks wise I think both look incredible for their time but the Dc5 still looks very modern to me. Peace!

Ep3 civic is just as much fun. Fn2 same. If it's type R it's fun.

Neither of those compare to a DC2/DC5.

The 05-06 rsx-s is the closest to the type R variant. The k20z1 shares most its parts with the K20a-R aside from compression differences. The Type R also had factory tune for 100+ octane gas. One of my goals is to install the Type R suspension brembos and wheels on my 06 type s.

The drivetrains are extremely close, separated primarily by an LSD and $300 Hondata reflash (there is an insignificant 10HP difference stock as it is). ~220 pounds of weight separation with lots of subtle changes. What's not close would be a Tesla Plaid which would murder both of these econoboxes.

she said her car its imported, i live in the states and i have a 2003 rsx base model and was made in japan , i notice going to the yunk jard , that most of the hondas or acuras there are made in the states , its weird maybe the quality of production its better in japan or the materials, definitely acura integras in the 90s were the best engine and they turn the DC5 into a basic car , and the civic and other hondas and acuras with a better engine k204 and DC5 base model k203 even a honda civic with more powerfull engine , thanks for the video im from MEXICO but i have some canadians friend who are the best.

DC5 is like an Golf to drive, cumfy and rafined, power commes progressively, DC2 is race car for the street homologation car, has violent cross over and lighter, all suspension are double wishbone witch is way better then standar Mcpherson suspension used by Golf or cumfy cars

So who’s going to snap up the DDE Integra at August Motors in Kelowna ?

I’d say the s2000 is the last legendary NA Honda. Type R is great. S2000 is greatest

Tested drive this 2 bad boys, DC5: Great power, higher torque, but handling, balance, cornering wise wasn’t so good UNLESS you invest lots of money in it. DC2: B series VTEC kick a lot stronger than K series, power of course not as good as DC5 but still pretty competitive. Handling, balance and cornering better than DC5.

The Type S in my opinion is kinda in a weird place, its not too comforting and also has essentially what the 2023 CTR.

Are RSX called integra in other countries? probably would never still put an integra badge on my 04 rsx-type S

Nobody in the import scene stateside rocked with the RSX when it came out. Too expensive to buy, no aftermarket support, and the aftermarket parts available carried a huge premium due to the fact the car came from Honda's luxury brand Acura.

No. It was FN2.

The reason the DC2 vtec pops louder is actually a bad reason; because of the difference in cam profile. The K20 being a better engine with more tq because its not as weak as the B18 outside of VTEC. The VTEC pop is a nice sound but it actually is not desired if you want your engine to make the most power it can. As it gets tuned properly for power that VTEC pop shouldn't be as audible; you want a smooth transition to VTEC.

and you also forgot the Honda s2000

No it wasn’t, the FN2 Civic Type R is because it was still in production a year after the S2000 and a few months after the FD2 Type R. There’s been many other N/A Honda’s after the S2000 😂

Nope. You’re wrong, the FN2 Civic Type R was the last one. It was in production until the end of 2010 which was a year longer than the S2000 was and a few months after the FD2 Type R.

to this day i still dont like the design of the DC5 it looks nothing likes it's predecessor the DC2 the DA9 and the DA1 i don't care what anyone says

Tell me how great, in memory, and easy to maintain your vette is some 30 years after its inception and over 150k miles on the body. And how accessible is over 200hp on the street without an above-average level of driving skill? Even on a track, if you’re not breaking 100mph enough, I would likely chase you down with half the power.
