Chemistry counts, and the results speak for themselves. Kobe and Shaq were more talented as a duo, but Pippen and Jordan were better as teammates. It's Kobe and Shaq's fault that they didn't win more than three titles together.

Magic & Kareem should have a say about this. Those two went to 8 finals together and won five. They are both top 10 all time players, complimented each other well, and didn't have the ego problems that Shaq & Kobe had. In the early eighties, Magic deferred to Kareem then later when Kareem was too old to carry the team Magic took over. They absolutely deserve to be in this conversation, and are probably the best duo of all time.

Well Steph and Klay are a great duo and neither one of them is the dominant guy, and both of them can make it rain 30 on 40% shooting in less than 15 minutes if they wantedto. Sadly GSW doesnt play like that, but i would wonder if instead of constant movement ball they would, they attacked as duo like LJ and Kyrie what kind of score they could put on a night to night bases.

I'd go with Jordan & Pippen overall. They won 6 rings together and they're probably the most dominant defensive wing duo in NBA history. I think Kobe & Shaq are the better offensive duo though, plus I think Kobe & Shaq's feud and issues with each other hinders their case because it might've been detrimental to their team at times and suppressed what could've been a lot more dominance

going by what HAS happened, MJ & Pip are better. *6-0 in the finals vs. what, 3-1 in the finals (?) *2 separate three-peats vs. 1 three-peat *iconic 90s run outside of the NBA w/Dream Team and Nike marketing vs. less important 00s Olympic runs and Kobe on Adidas (I think) and Shaq on Reebok post-shaqnosis considering talent and distribution of it, fitting, speculation, etc., Kobe & Shaq were better. *it's easier to build a team around one big and one wing vs. two wings *in terms of in-game influence, Shaq individually at the time was on the same level as MJ and Kobe had a little bit of an edge over Pip because of Kobe's offense *[speculation] if Kobe & Shaq stayed together, they could have had another three-peat and ended their partnership on the LAL with 6 rings in 7 appearances (LAL lost to DET w/Shaq and Kobe I think) which is better than 6 for 6 because of the extra finals appearance *[speculation] if Shaq adopted an even slightly more serious mentality, leading to him working on his post moves, freethrows, BBIQ, longevity, and willingness to share the spotlight and take less to get better role players on LAL then he would have been the GOAT over MJ

The reason they lost to the pistons is cuz they wasn’t playing as a team and the pistons were. As much as I love Kobe he was doing to much in the finals in 2004 against the pistons he even admit it himself saying he’s the one to blame for that finals loss when him and Shaq had that sit down talk about their time playing together. But it was kind of good that they split up for Kobe because I don’t think people would consider him the great player he is today if he still had Shaq

also, in the bulls championship years they only went to two game 7s TOTAL over six years. Kobe and Shaq went to 2 (once vs Portland and once vs sacramento) in their 3 championship seasons. In other words, the bulls weren't even very close to losing very often for those 6 years. Plus, in 1990 if the bulls had won game 7 vs Detroit the dynasty would have started a year earlier (sure they would have had to play Portland in the finals, but most likely they would have won that).

Nah i saw those games bro when they needed to get a basket or the flow of the offense shaq was the man. He made the offense flow even Phil Jackson said that in his book. And he even left the Lakers because of Kobe and how he would pass and get his teammates involve in the triangle when his shots not falling. Gary Payton said he would never play a game with Kobe again ever because of his character and his selfishness. It cost them the title against the the piston. Kobe just keep on chucking shots after shot after shot instead of flowing the offense the show which he had height and size advantages and the team was scoring off the double team. Magic and Kareem is the best duo in Lakers history

Jordan & Pippen were the more successful duo. Shaq & Kobe were more powerful/dominant. Jordan & Pippen had a better chemistry and Jordan was clearly the superior player plus Scottie was a pass first baller. The lines between who was the better player were blurred with Kobe & Shaq because of their positions. One inside, the other operates outside (Kobe). Shaq was in the middle of his prime and Kobe was just coming into his... In a head to head matchup I'd have to take Shaq and Kobe. Shaq has no body to answer for him and Kobe would get harassed by Pip and Jordan but Kobe would still be effective... NOW Magic and Kareem vs Shaq & Kobe is the real matchup...

The 90s era of basketball is often referred to as the golden age of the sport. It was a time when legends like Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kobe Bryant dominated the court and left a lasting impact on the game. Their talent, skill, and fierce determination made them household names, and they continue to be revered by fans and players alike. It’s a dream for any basketball fan to see these four iconic players go head to head in a game. So, let’s take a look at what a 2 on 2 basketball game to 21 points between Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant in their primes, versus Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen in their primes, would be like and which team would come out on top. First, let’s set the scene. The game takes place at the peak of their careers, where all four players are in their prime. The court is packed with fans eager to see these basketball greats in action. The energy in the air is palpable, and the players are all pumped up, ready to show off their skills. The teams are evenly matched, with Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant on one side and Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen on the other. It’s a battle between the unstoppable force and the immovable object. Shaq’s massive size and strength against Jordan’s agility and finesse. Kobe’s scoring ability against Pippen’s all-around game. It’s a matchup that every basketball fan has dreamed of witnessing. The game begins with Shaq and MJ facing off in the middle for the tip-off. Shaq easily wins the possession and quickly passes it to Kobe, who takes the ball and shoots a three-pointer, draining it effortlessly. It’s an impressive start for the duo, and the fans erupt in cheers. However, Pippen is quick to respond with a beautiful crossover and a layup, making it a tie game. The match continues with both teams going back and forth, trading points. Jordan and Pippen’s chemistry is on display, as they effortlessly move the ball around, with Jordan attacking the basket and Pippen hitting jump shots. But Shaq and Kobe refuse to back down, constantly driving to the rim and knocking down shots from all angles. It’s a physical and intense game, with both teams giving it their all. As the game nears the end, the score is tied at 19-all. It’s anyone’s game now, and the tension on the court is electric. Shaq and Kobe have the ball, and they’re determined to end the game with a bang. Shaq gets a pass from Kobe and goes for a thunderous dunk, but MJ swoops in and blocks it with ease. On the other end of the court, Pippen gets a steal and passes it to Jordan, who takes a fadeaway shot and swishes it, clinching the victory for his team. The crowd goes wild, and Jordan and Pippen celebrate their victory with high fives and hugs. Shaq and Kobe, on the other hand, look dejected as they walk off the court, knowing that they were defeated by one of the greatest duos in NBA history. In a game that showcased the talent, skill, and competitiveness of all four players, it was Jordan and Pippen who came out on top. Their chemistry and experience playing together gave them an advantage over Shaq and Kobe, who were great individually but lacked the cohesive teamwork that Jordan and Pippen had. In conclusion, a 2 on 2 basketball game to 21 points between Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant in their primes, versus Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen in their primes, would undoubtedly be an exciting and intense match-up. It would be a clash of the titans, with each player trying to outdo the other. In this hypothetical scenario, it was Jordan and Pippen who proved to be the better team, but it’s safe to say that any game featuring these four legends would be unforgettable.
