Nero was one of the the Beast that John was referring to in Revelation. The one whose name numbered 666. Not the anti christ.

turning the other cheek is not the literal meaning, forgiveness is the key. Forgiving does not mean stand around and let the same person hurt you again. it means forgive, and if nessesary walk away from the person who offended you. pray for them instead of seeking revenge. forgiveness is not only for them, but for us too. let the hurt feeling go. They serve to do nothing more than just drag us down

Modern Chri$tianity teaches a futurist version, even though all Biblical prophecies were fulfilled by A.D 70 when the Temple was destroyed by Titus and the 10th Legion. THIS was the wrath of God foretold.

Just one of the things is the imagery of horses with Blood up to their bridles and we live in a time of mechanized war and we are long past those days and i cannot ever accept these stories in the Bible they easily fail as false prophecy.

Actually Nero was on the throne when John wrote the Revelation. At the time he wrote it, 5 kings had fallen, one was currently on the throne (Nero) and one came after but ruled only for a little while. John completed his writing before the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple

@@annigard8 Hello. Actually, John makes clear that the beast with seven heads represents seven hills (or mountains) on which the woman sits. They are also seven kings. This is where a knowledge of first century history is helpful. Rome is historically known as the city on seven hills. Who is sitting on the hills? The woman. Who is the woman? In context, the woman is apostate Israel who rejected their Messiah and who stones and kills those sent to her by God. John then goes on to link the beast with seven kings (all of whom are part of the beast). At the time John wrote the Revelation, 5 of those Caesars had fallen, and Nero was currently on the throne. After he committed suicide on June 9, he was followed by Caesar Galba who reigned for 7 months (a little while).

The only reason I researched Nero was because of The Trials of Apollo. He was called the Beast.

Nero was an archetype of the Beast. He wanted to be worshipped as God. Head of a government that subsumed all others under its umbrella. Failing to worship him and accept all the other gods and goddesses that had Rome's stamp of approval resulted in fatal persecution for the Jews and the early church.

and romans crucified Christ and Nero died from a self-inflicted knife wound to the head and the neck can be considered the head. he was in fact worshiped as God sitting in place of God. as were other roman emperors. And they did put a statue of an emperor in the Jewish temple profaning it. The Jewish daily sacrifice was stopped by the romans just like it was predicted in Daniel.

Remember john is seeing a vision the great dragon is a symbol for the devil, the dragon took his tail and knocked A 3rd of the stars to earth, they represent the angels that rebelled with him. The woman is getting ready to have the male child, the dragon is waiting to devour it, that represents Herod trying to destroy Christ at his birth; The male child escapes ascend to heaven represent Christ ascending to heaven after his resurrection.

The "mark" is Latin, in Greek its "badge" so when paying your taxes and sacrificing to the gods, you got your badge(mark) to be able to trade be part of society. Kind of like the Pledge of Allegiance today in the US. Obviously early Christians did not pray to these gods and were persecuted.

The number is not 666 to begin with. It's 616 according to the oldest known manuscripts. 666 appears as an overwrite in the oldest manuscript where it first appears in like u use whitewash n write on top of it. Beneath that writing is 616 which has been seen using high level tech by manuscript scholars. That's makes a whole lot of difference.

@@providence1936 many people have the spirit of the antichrist. But there is one to come in the final days, especially after 3yrs of rapture, pre - tribulation. The last 3 and 1/2 years he will show up and many will worship him because the dragon will give him all power. So whoever worships the beast, also worships the Dragon/ Devil. So probably, the antichrist is alive, seated somewhere! Most people have seen him on the news yet they don't know it's him because his time to be revealed has not yet come.

The 1st beast comes out of the sea (Abyss) and he is the antichrist given all power by the dragon, the 2nd beast comes from the earth, (False Prophet) or a religious leader who will make an image of the 1st beast . The 1st beast is a political and military leader

Coming of the Lord reffered always to judgement. So its not necessarily the second coming of Christ as it is in 1 Corinthians 15

You make a good observation Nate. The confusion comes when people fail to understand the historicity of Revelation and to whom it was written; and yet, John makes it very clear why he wrote the Revelation and to whom he wrote it. People are in to selling and sensationalism and newspaper theology rather than the truth. Most of those commenting have never taken up a serious study of the Book, for if they had they would not be making the kinds of statements they are making. The Book of Revelation is not a book of riddles but a book of symbols deeply rooted in Old Testament history. It was written to the Christians living in the first century to prepare them for what was to "soon take place" because "the time is near." The Revelation is an apocalyptic narrative containing metaphorical judgement language borrowed from the Old Testament, symbols, and prophecy. It falls into three genres: apocalypse, prophecy, and epistle. There is no reason to conclude that the Revelation is some kind of indecipherable, mysterious book. When one reads it as it was intended it makes perfect sense.

This does not sit well with dispensationalists and those who like to call themselves "end-times experts" and who love to write the next book to sell to the public each time there is a crises in the Middle-East. The best thing any Christian can do is to consider and contemplate the historical context of any given letter or document within the Bible. Before one even begins to read a book in the Bible, they should first dig deep into the history behind the letter and learn about those things that were taking place when the letter was written. Many fail to do this, and it results in all kinds of aberrant and strange ideas. By learning and understanding the context of a biblical book before reading it, it places the reader into the proper contextual story and helps to clarify the reasons behind any given letter. Nero is the Beast (Anti-Christ) of Revelation, but John also tells us that there are "many" anti-Christs. There will continue to be anti-Christs throughout history, both as individuals and institutions. John identifies the Beast by the number of his name (666). It just so happens that, in the Greek language, when the title "Caesar Nero" is transliterated from Greek into Hebrew, the sum total of his name equals 666 in the Hebrew alphabet. The rapture: The idea of "a rapture" as presented and described by many within Christendom is actually not taught in the Bible. I'm speaking of the "Tim Lahaye-style rapture idea." The Rapture doctrine has been developed over the years and is based on basically one single sentence found in 1 Thessalonians 4:17 written by Paul; however, Paul's readers would not have understood his words in the way that people like Tim Lahaye have presented. The concept that Paul is communicating to his reading audience is that of a group of people leaving the city and going out to meet the returning, victorious King or Warrior, then returning with Him back to the City. Jesus will return one day and HIS kingdom will be established on Earth. His Kingdom will have NO END. He will judge the whole Earth and everyone in it. At HIS name, every knee will be made to bow before HIM and every tongue will be made to confess that Jesus is Yahweh and Savior. We have been living in the "Last Days" for 2,000 years now. All things will continue as they always have. There will be wars; there will be plagues; there will be natural disasters; there will be death; there will be suffering etc etc. All of this will go on until the designated and appointed time of The End which only GOD knows. There will be one day a new heaven and a new earth wherein dwells righteousness. Death will be the final enemy that is destroyed. I hope this has been helpful 😊

He was an antichrist but not THE antichrist Rev_19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. This happens when Jesus comes the second time, not to bring salvation, but as King and judge

You're correct DoowopLover. Actually, the more correct term is "isopsophism" rather than "numerology." John employed the use of gematria to communicate to the 7 churches in Asia the identify of the Beast. When the corresponding numbers associated with the Greek letters are transliterated into Hebrew they spell out exactly "Nero Caesar"

The bible says there are many anti-christs. Jesus told the apostles that many anti-christs are already in the world. In the end times there will the main anti-christ who will rule for 7 years during the tribulation.

Time is different we are still in the times

after he killed himself by a knife wound to the throat which can be considered the head and Rome was burned to the ground "they will utterly burn her with fire" they thought that Rome was finished but was resurrected from those ashes and continued to destroy Jerusalem just like Christ predicted they would. It's all been written said and done but the only thing left is the new heaven and new Earth. He was worshiped as a god standing in place of God and had his image on coins. etc...etc..

How can Nero be the Anti Christ when he's Dead? One thing they got right is the Beast and the false prophet are coming from the revived Roman Empire which is the European Union and Roman Catholic Church.

Nero aka 666 was the catalyst for the beast. The papacy is the beast out of the sea. The luke warm church/new one world religion is beast of the earth. The beast of the earth will give new life to the beast of the sea that was wounded/losing believers. They will join together and try and force everyone to take the mark of the beast. That mark is believing in pagan traditions/gods; not honoring the true Sabbath day (Saturday not Sunday). Those who endure to the end will have rest, those that do not endure will have no rest.

If they seen him as the antichrist because he was evil that doesn't make him the devil. They just perceived him to be because he was so evil

The Book of Revelation is not a book of riddles but a book of symbols deeply rooted in Old Testament history. It was written to the Christians living in the first century to prepare them for what was to "soon take place" because "the time is near." The Revelation is an apocalyptic narrative containing metaphorical judgement language borrowed from the Old Testament, symbols, and prophecy. It falls into three genres: apocalypse, prophecy, and epistle. There is no reason to conclude that the Revelation is some kind of indecipherable, mysterious book. When one reads it as it was intended it makes perfect sense.

They want to change your Religion, you know in your heart who are the bad people. The devil is trying to get to your brain, he can never ever reach your heart. There is only one God, the father of all us us, you still have time for forgivness.

Agreed judgement day couldn't come to soon, in a world where just asking not to be used, abused and tortured seems to be asking too much
