As someone, who came to Islam from Russian Orthodox Christianity I see myself 1) as abd-Allah and follower of the crystally Pure Religion brought by our Prophet Mohamad (saw), 2) but also as a follower of the Message of Prophet Isa (as): Isa (as) was the first Prophet who was spreading the Word, the Love and the Mercy of Allah to all people, who became believers of One God, from the whole world! regardless of their origin! Dear Sheikh Imran Hosein: I may not possess extensive knowledge of Islam and Christianity, but your interpretation resonates with the Christian understanding of the Crucifixion of Jesus (peace be upon him). If Allah SWT took Jesus's (PBUH) soul, it implies his passing. Even if Jesus (PBUH) did not have a soul during the crucifixion, the act of being nailed to the cross is still considered Crucifixion. In my humble opinion, it would be more coherent if Jesus (PBUH) was taken to heaven before being placed on the cross, and someone else, appearing like Jesus (PBUH), was crucified in his stead. Once again, I acknowledge my limited understanding, and I trust that Allah SWT knows best.

Very perseptive to state that we accuse God of being evil in hurting Messhia. Very perseptive, you are right. But, the end is that God also raised him from dead. The Holy Bible states " God saw his suffering and was SATISFIED" That is why Salvation or Escape can be proclaimed from Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost. God satisfied. This is found in the Prophet book of Iseah 53:11 (and New Testament). My friends from Arab world please be blessed by heeding this point.

Crucifixion and being killed were CLEARLY separated by Allah in the verse just to avoid this mistake we are making. Allah says he was neither killed nor crucified. Allah qualifies the two actions to be separate. Jesus (PBUH) was not crucified, so he wasn't on the cross. If crucifixion meant dying on the cross, there would be no need for this qualification.

Just imagine how a person will be treated before put on a cross to die. (Quran 5:110) Allah says He restrained the children of Israel from him. If they could not reach him with any harm and humiliation, how could they have put him on the cross? Anyone who denies Allah saving him and restraining their hands from him is not only ignorant but also a kaafir(disbeliever).

Assalamu Alaykum, Sheikh! In the Holy Quran, chapter 4, verse 157, there are TWO distinct things that are mentioned: "they DIDN'T KILL him" AND "they DIDN'T CRUCIFY him" 1st - "they DIDN'T KILL him" = means that Jesus didn't die on the cross. He wasn't killed at all, by no one and under no circumstances. 2nd - "they DIDN'T CRUCIFY him" = Jesus' body was not placed and nailed on the cross. If a man is crucified, it takes hours or days to die. If someone helps to remove him from the cross in time, the man that was crucified can survive the crucifixion. There is an ancient record of one person who survived a crucifixion that was intended to be lethal, but was interrupted, according historian Flavius Josephus. But in the case of Jesus, it is mentioned that his body wasn't even placed on the cross, according verse 157: "they DIDN'T CRUCIFY him" The word "CRUCIFIXION" literally means "to fasten to a cross." The term comes from Latin: "CRUCIFIXIO" (CRUCI = cross + FIXIO = fasten) Crucifying is the act of tying or nailing a person to a wooden beam or cross. The condemned man would hang for several days until eventual death from exhaustion and asphyxiation. In the most severe crucifixions, the condemned man's legs were broken, so that he could lose sustention for his body.

Mashallah.......It is exactly as you describe it dear sheikh Imran; the problem is that modern people regardless of faith have lost the faculty of imagination and as such the faculty to see the truth when symbolism and Archetypes are used; besides, English is an extremely poor quality language for metaphysical concepts. Often our Blessed Quran Kareem uses extremely elliptical speech with overarching symbolism; so for people whose languages are poor in metaphor etc, find it hard to understand symbolic concepts. R - yazid- from Philippines/ am a student, sheikh I think what you said is incorrect because remember prophet isah (AS) said peace be on to me the day i was born and the day I shall die, no way will Allah allow that to happen to him cause the people on the cross were somehow naked, whipped and punished. I said Allah didn’t allow non of what you said happened to one of his mightiest messenger, as the Quran said he wasn’t killed nor crucified. You say Allah took his soul and returned it back then what the Christians are saying is right because they said he died and rise after he was dead, which makes no sense because as the Quran says he wasn’t killed nor crucified… thank you

After they put him on the cross , I believe that Allah SWT took his soul and he have made it appear to them that Nabi Isa AS was dead. After they removed him from the cross and put him in the tomb , than Allah SWT returned his soul. According to some Christian scriptures, That is why women like Mary Magdalene used to go every day to treat his wounds although the Christians don't know that he never died, but that his soul was returned to him, Qormi Malta , Security Officer :)

This is obvious contradiction with Quran verse. I hope you answer this. Thank you.

There is a great misunderstanding regarding the meaning of the word CRUCIFIXION. The act of putting someone on the cross is called crucifixion. If anyone says that Jesus was placed on the cross without being crucified, they are insane. It's the same thing to say that someone walked on foot without using their feet.

If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. And when he appeared as a human being, he humbled himself still more by becoming obedient even to death - death on a stake as a criminal! Therefore, God raised him to the highest place and gave him the name above every name; that in honor of the name given Yeshua, every knee will bow - in heaven, on earth and under the earth - and every tongue will acknowledge that Yeshua the Messiah is Adonai - to the glory of God the Father.

Crucified means to be put to DEATH on a cross. Did Jesus die on the cross? No. So he wasn't crucified. But this doesn't mean he was never put on the cross. Allah says that it was made to appear that he had died on the cross. Which means he has to be on the cross for it to appear that he died on the cross.

@@OVERKILLGAMING786 Crucified means to be nailed on a cross and the Quran clearly stated he was NOT Crucified. Allah did not say "it was made to appear that he died on the cross", that’s a translation. The word is شبه لهم and to me it’s more closer to “that they got confused of the situation”. Similar to the story of the Cow when the Jews said, “ان البقر تشابه علينا. They were confused. That’s why the Allah continues to state: “Those who differ about him are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it, except the following of assumptions. They certainly did not kill him.”

Dear Sheikh. Thank you for the knowledge you have shared. I am from Surabaya. The verse stating "wa ma qataluhu" easily aligns with your argument that they placed Nabi Isa on the cross, but he did not actually die. However, the verse continues with "wa ma salabuhu," which literally means they did not crucify Nabi Isa. Can we, on one hand, translate "wa ma qataluhu" literally as "they did not kill him," while on the other hand, interpret "wa ma salabuhu" to mean "they did put him on the cross but did not actually crucify him"? Both arabic phrases appear similar. Please teach this further. Thank you.

ALLAH ( سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) doesn't need another person to sacrifice ; HE can save anyone anytime like HE saved prophet Ibrahim ( عليه السلام ) . and ALLAH ( سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) knows best . i pray for your great Health and May ALLAH ( سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) let you share more knowledge with us . I also understand that the meaning of crucifaction is, if someone put on the cross and he die..this is crucifaction...Nabi Isa has just put on the cross...but hes only wafat...and not die....because Allah has took his soul temporary...and bring it back to his body.............

While all the other men that were being executed with him were still living. A soldier then pierced him with a spear. And out of the wound came blood and water.

Assalamu Alaikum Sheikh I never believed my elders when they said it was Judas on the cross. I knew in my heart it wasn't right and I believed when you said Allah will not test another person for his or her actions and it was Isa on the cross and just as the Quran has it tjst Allah takes your soul when you are sleeping I always thought he took the soul of Isa alaihisalam on the cross as you said on many occasions and returned his soul 3 days after in the cave. So when the nasarahs came to check on him the body was not there because Allah took his body and soul then. Today you confirmed what I always thought happened JazakAllah khair
