The implications of what the Duke player accused the young man of could clearly ruin his entire life if their not true. Not to mention how the National Media would paint the State of Utah as all being Racist. This is a very big deal either way.

There MUST be repercussions to the player Rachel Richardson - bc if she had handled it with coaches, police, etc AND NOT IN PUBLIC on social media and it turned out false then she should get a pass (“misheard”) but the decisions to GO PUBLIC first, but facts/investigation be dammed that’s the reason for harsh punishment. She should be expelled and charges for a crime (along with Lesa Pamplin godmother). The way she.they was handled is the issue. A mentally challenged fan was publicly accessed. A coach received death threats. The bell can’t be unrung.

If being a "racist" was as bad a thing as they say, then falsely labeling someone a racist should be as bad. It isn't. There are no consequences for falsely making the charge. There's no expectation to even apolagize. If there's no penalty for slandering someone with "racist," there's no reason to consider the word more than a bullying label.

Which actually is kind of funny bc they’re dammed bc the percentage of white people in the eyes of the rest of the country so it doesn’t matter. And let’s forget about how many biracial marriages happen at BYU and the LDS community in general. Condemned for being white, the people behind this saw an opportunity. They chose the wrong college to do that too. I promise there a million times more N-words thrown around Duke in any given year than have ever been thrown around at BYU.

I'm a BYU alumnus. I've done a few workouts in the place where the teams were playing. It is very small and carries sound easily across the court. Absolutely impossible for someone else not to have heard it. Even if they were saying it in a normal voice. On top of that, out of the dozens of sporting events I went to there and the 4 years I spent studying there I never heard a single derogatory comment towards a minority. But, now that Duke player is in too deep. Even though she's lying, she can't tell the truth now. It will ruin her career. But she's perfectly fine to slander my school with lies. Fingers are pointed at BYU because it’s easier, perhaps, to pick on a minority faith group. There were multiple black BYU basketball players at floor level right next to the student section. None of them reacted in any way, nor have any of them come forward. None of the other Duke (a very well-known leftist/woke university) volleyball players reacted or raised the issue during the game. The police officer posted near the Duke bench said he heard no racial comments from the student section. The BYUtv game footage clearly shows the student section behind the servers. That footage is available to stream for anyone anywhere. Countless individuals at this point have poured over that footage and no one has found anything. Added to all that, the godmother of this player (who first pushed the story, and wasn't even in attendance) is a public figure running for office with a history of making racist and racially charged statements. Something feels very wrong about the accusations made by this Duke volleyball player.

The honor code is taken seriously by the average BYU student. Several students present were African American students. It’s very hard to believe that none of the students are stepping up to verify it occurred at all. If they are reviewing all the footage of a specific person identified by the Duke players and see no evidence, that’s a huge problem. I am sure they have examined every individual near that area and seem to still be coming up with nothing. As you say that’s a ton of video and the venue is small enough to get audio that could corroborate the story.

We must remember incidents like the MLB player that accused a fan of shouting racial slurs and it ended up that he was yelling at the mascot or the noose incident of the Nascar Driver. Yet when the accusations were proven false the accusers either still claimed he had racial slurs yelled at him (MLB) or that it could of happened (NASCAR). Also you have to look at the coverage of almost any accusation of racism where the media and that includes this channel jumped to condemn BYU instead of waiting for all the facts. If it turns out that this is a false accusation or she mis-heard what was said the clarification of the actual events will get way less national coverage than the initial accusation got.

As a Black resident of North Carolina, let me make it clear, I DO NOT Believe anyone on the Duke Volleyball Team was racially abused. And if anyone who plays sports is gonna let a heckler get to them, they're too tender-hearted to be playing any kind of sports. And since African-Americans themselves address each other with "Racial Slurs" in music videos and even in normal social conversation, it is hypocritical to get upset if anyone, regardless of race says the same thing. The bottom line is she was having a bad day on the court and instead of owning up to that, she tried to blame this on someone shouting racial slurs that NO ONE ELSE heard. BYU is owed an apology. I also think she misheard. After the first time, BYU posted people in the stands and a cop by the bench (as a precaution, not because of actual violence as the media has taken to claim). If it did happen "on every serve" in the later set, it could not have been missed. There were no claims of multiple use until after the game. If she had raised the issue again during the game, they could have stopped the game to clear it up. Also she said she was "heckled racially". Maybe she heard something like the volleyball equivalent of baseball's "hey batter batter." "Hey server server --- miss!" "Server" could sound like a racial slur in a very noisy environment.

I'm not sure that making an accusation of a false report is any worse than making a false accusation. Accusing a group of people of racism is pretty serious accusation. After her nitial complaint, BYU sent a cop and several others to go to the area to watch out for incidents - and nothing happened. And she made accusations for the time the cop was standing right there. He heard nothing. The cop talked to the young man banned and said he made no statements like that. More likely, she heard stuff and her bias interpreted as racially motivated. She should have validated it before making the accusation.

Who in Duke identified the young man who was ejected from the game? What evidence do they have to support that claim? It would appear that they have none as the video evidence negates that claim. In this video reference is made to BYU "honour code" and questions are raised about the integrity of those present who failed to come forward to report the behaviour. Perhaps they have not come forward because they did not see or hear anything connected to the alleged racial slurs. If the Duke player is found to have lied about this then she should face serious consequences, including civil legal action.

ITS A GOOD POINT THAT WHEN SOMEONE IS A CRIMINAL TYPE PERSON, A HATE TYPE CRIMINAL TO RACIALLY HARASS SOMEONE IN A CROWDED CONTROLLED EVENT IS A BANNED INDIVIDUALLY IN THE BEGINNING OF AN INVESTIGATION IMPLIES THAT IF A PERSON INSTIGATE THESE THINGS, THAT IS ALSO A CRIME AND THERE SHOULD BE SOME TYPE TYPE OF CRIME. NOW KEDOM SLOVIS HAD A GOOD EXPERIENCE AT THE USC, BYU GAME.
