Dan with his masterfull voice is the best. His interpretation is so real. But Dan said in one of his comments: " Not all the tears are of sadness. Those lyrics speak of struggle, but a struggle that leads to light, as all ot them do. " His range, his emotion, as he singing...outstanding! Thank you for your very, very great reaction, Viking !😊

Dan has also suffered from depression and talks about this issue in a couple of his videos. The first that springs to mind is an older cover of “Heart Of Steel” that he speaks about seeking help in the intro of the song. Might be worth checking it out my friend. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences and for reacting to this emotional song from Dan. 🎶🌟🎶

This is one of the most beautiful songs Dan has ever recorded. Very moving, melancholic, and beautiful at the same time. Dan is a gift from God! This guy always delivers his best with emotion and sincerity. This is the reason why he is loved among his fans. I don't know about you, but I consider Dan as a close friend who understands our darkest moments. One who has had his moments of depression, and talks about it with great responsibility and compassion. I pray for him, and for all those who go through the same thing. They are generally good people, who cannot understand such a hostile world. God bless us!

Empathy can be freeing. Dan shares the same struggles many including me are challenged with. We are not alone and we are not our mental illness. I share my story freely and without shame around me. It’s my way to help. My struggle took me to the darkest place you can go. For me it’s still a daily challenge. Not sure in the morning whether I wake up as Eeyore or Tigger but I know now how to live with joy. Get help. Talk to someone. We’re all here with arms open and hearts that understand! My love and Prayers go out to all who are struggling. You CAN find the light in the darkness!! ❤

The tears welling in his eyes show how totally connected he is to the feeling behind the song. What showed me that I was coming out of a depression was when I all of a sudden realized that I could see color again. It is an insidious disease and I am sorry that you have had problems also.

Congrats for finding the way, the truth & the light. So beautiful! I think the toughest part of the dark overwhelming us is that sometimes it makes no logical sense at all. Sometimes, of course, it does. But when it doesn't, it's nearly impossible to discuss. Until we can declare it is what it is, we'll just extend it instead of turning it over to our creator. Thank you for speaking up. True warriors all.

God bless you! As you see, many of us have been diagnosed with and treated for depression. Been to the depths more than once and cried out for help when I teetered on the brink of disaster. God's grace and mercy, with the proper meds, got me through each time. I had friends that didn't make it. A permanent solution to a temporary problem is not the answer. Thank you for sharing your story. I love your reactions, your channel, and YOU! You are in my prayers. We will get through this together. All of us! Hugs!!!

I dont know if this will give you encouragement, you.are.not.alone!!! So many people go through the hell of depression, my heart goes out to all. Dan has several videos where he talks about how he went through deep depression so bad that he was on the verge of suicide- his love of music brought him out of it and he swore that he would never let himself go that deep again!! This is one of the reasons he gives about himself, that gives him the drive, determination and grit to succeed and that failure is not an option for him. So, yeah, his emotions are real!! Its amazing to me how music can have the power to heal the soul. Your channel reaches many people, so yes, using it to help others would be wonderful! btw, if you get a chance, check out some of the videos where he talks about this.

So many good thoughts, Viking. Thank you for sharing them. Dan, like so very many (actually most of us to an extent), has suffered through depression and suicidal thoughts and fought through them. That most definitely could be his interpretation of this song. Many have said it could be a reminiscence of his father's passing. That too, could so truly be what he's doing with the song. Whichever is the case, he, as always, put life into the words and melody that only he can do in such a powerful way. I am so glad to have discovered Dan Vasc and his music. It lifts me. I'm also very glad to have found your channel. ♥♥

Thank you so much Viking, I have been in that dark place many, many times. Music has always been my go to when people have said pull yourself together, cheer up all those things people say. Dan himself has suffered with the Black Dog of depression, I watch him now and somehow he has helped me, with my outlook on life I am happy you now have found him too. I consider you as my friend, I look forwards to every video (late with watching this one) had some hospital treatment on Monday and it made me poorly.. now a little better and went straight to your channel. Emerald sword is another cover of Dan's it's an earworm, drops into your brain for no reason, as all Dan's Rhapsody covers do.. Thank you again, for being there and for being you.

There's absolutely nothing I can add to what you have said, other than that I am in total agreement, and I just kept saying, "Yes!" "Yes!" "Yes!" This is my favorite of Dan's songs, and for some of the same reasons...nothing recent, but there was one time in particular, when I simply wanted to get into my car and drive, and just shut my eyes and let everything go...trying to get away from the pain in my heart. I thank God for slowly and surely moving me out of that place, and giving me back His peace and love that I had walked away from for a very long time. Music and singing were also part of my being able to keep on keeping on. You are doing great things, here, with your wonderful reactions. Never doubt that. You are greatly loved, Carlos. I, for one (and I see many others here, who have already commented in the same vein) love you and what you do. I look forward every day to seeing what you will react to next. THANK YOU, from all of my heart. My daughter says the same, and all the kids love your reactions, as well. GRANDMA HUGS!

Since finding Dan Vasc and listing to him sing and talk it has helped me through so much, he is the light in the dark for me. Dan said something like If you’re in a bad place don’t stop you will forever stay there, you must keep moving forward to reach the better place. Dan speaks from knowledge. Lovely man.

You are such a beautiful person with a beautiful soul. Wish you all the best on your way back to the sunny sight of life. As mentioned before, maybe Heart of Steel by Dan would be a good choice next. He nailed it. As much as I love Dan - Son of pain is not my favorite cover. But I guess my opinion is probably the exception. 😅 Lots of love from Germany. ❤

I love your 'reaction' because I can tell you, that Dan singing guided me through quite a fight for my mental health, helped me to feel, what I had to feel and still stand strong and go on.

This man has actually inspired me to start my weight loss journey... Aside from him being an amazing vocalist...he has such a great attitude towards life. I love it. But seeing myself next to someone with the same hair and beard, i also saw the differences. Starting this monday, my regime starts! He is an inspiration to us all!

Such a sensitive & beautiful song & performer. I just love Dan Vasc. ❤ And that keyboard 🎹 artist is amazing, too! Speaking of fighting depression, check out Avi Kaplan's channel. When he first left Pentatonix he was suffering from depression big time. His soul was failing - for many reasons. The first songs he wrote when he started singing again were about his fight to beat depression. And they are amazing. It kind of ended with his recording of All Is Well. He's back to touring again and living with a schedule that allows him time to renew his spirit when needed. 😊

Dan, know that you're loved. Life's struggles are devastating at times, for me loss of parents, a close friend of many years, faith and the support of those who understand gives you hope through these bad times that life throws at us. Your music and your voice are an inspiration. Sending you a BIG HUG. If I could I would get on a plane from here in the USA to Brazil and give you that hug in person. Take care. ❤❤❤❤

Dan said his tears in this song were not of sadness, but from the light that comes with victory. I’m sure he’s talking about the struggle he went through with depression and the victory he finally achieved. Those were very tough days for him, but now he can help and lead others and say ‘You can make it too, my friend’. And you, my dearest Viking have been victorious as well and can offer your helping hand and assist others to stand up and move on. All of us at this moment of humanity are having our share of darkness, but there’s light and redemption right there and they’re just waiting for us with open arms. We shall never give up✨❤️‍🔥
