    @@ThePhoneBook123ABC He told his coach that after they played on the USA team in college. Then when they played on the USA team in 92 Chuck Daly told him he was the 2nd best player in the world. When Charles asked who the best Chuck said MJ and Barkley was like, "Yeah." But he still believed MJ just had a better squad behind him until the 93 Finals when Charles had a team that was arguably just as good as the Bulls at that time.

    Troy Bell was my favorite early 2000s player. As a kid I loved sheed, Montross, and stack in Carolina and bibby and miles Simon in Arizona. After the final four I remember pretending to be Miles Simon out on the playground during recess.

    Chuck wasn't better than Jordan but he was unreal.... like on a level most don't understand unless they actually watched him play. 86-96 were amazing years for Barkley. He averaged 25 and 12 for over a decade... Absolute monster

    Yeah, but that's honestly common among pro athletes. The mindset that they're the best is what drives them. Pierce is just a lot more outspoken about it, whereas most other guys want to come off as more modest to protect their image.

    Not ever. Not at any point. However, Charles is the man. And credit to him bc he always acknowledged MJ was the man. One of my favorite clips of Barkley and Jordan is when Charles was singing the Gatorade song - “If I could be like Mike.” So. Damn. Cool.

    My in house league when I was 11 they use to call me Charles Barkley.. this was back in 99, 2000 next year they paid for me to play on travel team. I was a under size big man with guard skills. Salute to charles

    Man as a teen I visited my uncles every year at Christmas for 2 weeks from Ireland , Charlestown , walked over the bridge to watch The Cs , went to all home games , we used to get free tickets of my Cousins Parish Preist in Charlestown and my guy The Truth , I saw Larry last year with a broken back , and saw greatest but I saw Paul Pierce in his prime, never forget The Garden light up with Him and Antoine Walker Cs Shake and start the next great Celtics , what a player Paul Pierce was , he wasn’t afraid of anything, unbelievable Mentality!!

    Only a handful of players can say they were the second best player in the league behind MJ - the great Charles Barkley is one of them. We might be laughing with/at him on Inside the NBA now, but damn, that dude took MJ to 6 games in the Finals. Chuck will always be on my 🐐 list, I don't care bout the rings and those crap you need massive luck and just about everything to go your way to win a title.

    @@theetruth8626 I never saw him play so it's not right for me to comment otherwise. I've been watching basketball since 86ish and since then MJ was the goat. Jordan is the greatest player of the modern era and maybe the greatest of all time BUT I can't say All time because I'm not old enough to have watched some other NBA greats play. My opinion says Michael Jordan is the goat because from 85 until today I haven't seen anyone better and it's not even close. The two other names that might be mentioned during THAT ERA is Bird and Magic and they both will tell you that MJ is the goat. Larry Bird said Jordan was GOD in sneakers

    I have that Magic Johnson vs. Kevin Garnett game on VHS 📼. Magic made his HIV retirement comeback after 5 years off. He was heavy and slow, but he carved Minnesota up with his passing, and looked like Tim Duncan down low. Magic was the GOAT 🐐 player on offense to me. Still to this day. Everything was easy for him. He was deferring to the young guys and allowing Nick Van Exel to run the offense. But even still Magic kept seeing plays developing and he couldn’t help himself but to throw lobs to Eddie Jones, backdoor no look bounce passes, stuff he kept seeing that nobody else on the court could see

    Paul was right about Stevie Wonder dude tall too and very humble! Jordan Has a presence about him too never met him but close enough to shake his hand! Met Pat Ewing and Scotty Pippin tho both nice guys! Ewing even let me take a pic with him! Magic had a aura about him as well got to meet him on a morning show in Chi-Town very fun and wonderful guy! Magic is from my home town Lansing Michigan so I was pumped!

    Barkely was listed as 6'6", but most pros say he's really about 6'4" or 5". Look at pictures of him next to MJ who is 6'6" and you'll see he's a little shorter than Mike.
