Succulent Warthog Feeds Hungry Leopard For Days

The Ravenscourt male leopard caught himself a warthog and that provided his meals for the next three days. The waiting hyenas were left with a few scraps. The Ravenscourt male leopard likes to catch warthogs, like many male leopards do. Catching warthogs is a special skill that leopards have to learn well otherwise they may get injured by the sharp tusks of the warthog. The Ravenscourt male leopard often targets the brachial artery when catching warthogs, this allows him to avoid the warthog tusks whilst still being an effective takedown tactic. Many leopard vs warthog situations end in a stalemate with both leopard and warthog going their separate ways but this time the warthog was unlucky.

Leopards have the luxury of eating their food up in the tree where no other big cats have....they pluck feathers and remove hair before eating their prey...except for lions and tigers where they can climb to certain height no other predators can disturb their meal

Interesting you mention the fur plucking part. Tigers do that, too and they are the undisputed top predator in their ecosystem. They rarely have to worry about having their kills stolen, so they, too have time for leisurely meals.

Pigskin is definitely a delicacy for both leopards and hyenas. Enjoying baby backs on a tree is definitely a leopard luxury.
Interesting to see how the Leopard eats its prey after the point where nature programs stop at the end of the hunt.

I wonder if warthogs are considered premium meat to predators.
That's exactly what that hyena gets. I love that it can't steal the 🐆 hard earned meal. I can't stand hyenas as much as baboons and macaques

The leopard have a great appetite just watching him eat is powerful the hoping hyena want him to drop it no hyena go hunt today he eating it all great sighting. Well he did drop it at the end and their no hyena around go figure
There also appear to be fewer annoying flies up in the tree to bother the leopard while he's eating.
Poor Warthog, didn't enjoy his life, he was eaten .. how horrible!
