Nynke dear, what a beautiful video from my home city. Only a person with a sensitive and loving heart and a soul of an artist could have created a film impression such as this. And owing to your sense of artistic observation you let me re-discover the beauty of the places I thought I knew so well (Zamek Ostrogskich (Ostrogski Castle) between 10:09 and 10:27, balcony in the Old Town at 13:46, Kamienne Schodki off Brzozowa Street at 17:09, beautiful fountain at 18:30). I cannot count how many times I visited the Old Town, and yet I have never noticed that balcony you showed at 13:46, let alone asked myself the same questions as you did in the video. Maybe because I am old enough to remember the ruins of the Royal Castle you showed on a photograph at 13:44, and inevitably whenever I enter Plac Zamkowy (Castle Square) my eyes are drawn to the castle rather than to the historic buildings opposite which had been restored before I was born. At that time from which I remember those ruins (end of sixties, beginning of seventies) restoration works had not yet started and the remnants of the destroyed castle were still in place. And nowadays, whenever I see the Castle I cannot help but wonder how beautifully it was restored and how difficult and time consuming a task that was. Due to this feeling of delight and wonder at the beauty of the restored Royal Castle I have somehow always overlooked the architectural details and beauty of the buildings opposite - a big mistake that got partially rectified only today, owing to your observation and film making skills. And what about this. Back in the eighties of the last century I worked in an office building right opposite Ostrogski Castle (Zamek Ostrogskich) which houses the Museum of Frederic Chopin (a couple of years back that office building was demolished and there is Motel One Warszawa-Chopin hotel in this place now). The window of my office was facing directly this impressive monument of Warsaw's past. Just imagine coming to work every morning for four years of your life and feasting your eyes on this architectural marvel the moment you open the door of your office room - I absolutely loved it. And yet it never occurred to me to look at this building from the other side and angle, like you did between 10:09 and 10:27. I am so grateful to you for letting me re-discover the beauty of a place that is so dear to me. Kudos and many thanks to the gentleman who is hosting you - he obviously knows Warsaw like the back of his hand and loves the city with all his heart. I can't wait for the next video in the Warsaw series. Uściski Ninko. 🍀🥰🤗

look, nice traveller, you must inform you and go to Jazdow : a fascinating place and history; have a rest in the caste (or Palace) and appreciate the view to the gardens. Jazdow is not known from the tourists, but it belongs the the history of WWA ! have a look at Fotoplastikon, have a look at the tiny PRL museum and give greetings from me from Switzerland....

They have a thing to cool off! That's so cool! No pun intended. Is it hot there. It's really hot here and also humid. I don't know if it's usually this hot although they say it's hotter this year, or if I just don't go outside in this part of the summer. But my ducklings are late this year. The first ones hatched in June. Except for that one single one that hatched in January. So I go outside more. But also they said it's so hot in Europe they keep showing Italy on the news. Of course Italy is far south part of Europe and you are more north. Not quite as far north as Gdansk, but... And I am about to see glorious purple flowers. I am so happy. The neighborhoods are pretty and the parks are pretty. And I like the street signs because I am weird :-) Boston has neighborhoods as well but they are much larger. I can't think how many there are but each one is like a town. I should do a comparison but I'm too lazy and I need to finish this before 3:00 and I don't think I have much Hope of that :-) hopefully the ducks are okay. They have water and most of them have food and shadow can just lie under some of the foliage or he can eat the banana tree. Although Dennis won't be happy about that.

6:20 It looks like you just wandered into the nice neighborhood. The houses are very nice. This man's house is also very nice, based on his back yard and the vines and the fence and the pool :-) and yes, the day before, Stary Zoliborz, It does look like the rich people live there. Okay the people I would call rich. Not like super rich but it makes me think of Newton, Mass. The richer towns, if there are any, then I haven't been to them. Wait a minute. I grew up in Westwood. People had 14 rooms in their houses. We had two bedrooms and a bathroom. I shared a room with my brother until I was 14. But anyway it was a nice town on our side of town as well. The house was small but it was convenient. You could walk down the street and catch a bus into the city although it would take a while to get there. And you could walk to the grocery store as long as you didn't mind carrying your groceries home with you. My mother had one of those little carts. And we had a library a church a gas station a drugstore two banks. We used to have a 5 and 10 (you might have to look that up) They closed it and turned it into a bank. And we walked to school. Before that we lived in the city but it was a pretty nice neighborhood. It was a dead end street but then the other end was on Washington Street which was not something you wanted to cross if you were a kid. And we didn't. And we could still walk to school. I didn't have to cross the street

My brother goes to a website I don't know what it's called crazy maps? It's something about maps. And one of them is a map of all the churches in Poland. I don't know if it's an actual map of all the churches in Poland but it's just like a map covered with a zillion little church icons all over the place. It's funny. And it's true... I wonder whether there are people in Poland who are not Catholic or are a different religion from Catholic. (In Russia I hear they are getting rid of all of the other religions besides Russian Orthodox)

11:22 not people but germans, GERMANS did it in Warszawa. They burned completly the town, building after building, and they slaughtered more than 200,000 civilians, including babies, children and pregnant women. The germans: Oskar Dirlewanger`s group + their helpers from Russia Bronisław Kamiński - Бронислав Владиславович Каминский and Ukraine - Ukraiński Legion Samoobrony (31 baon SD). Say the truth! Chwała Polskim Bohaterom!!

In fact, Konstancin - Jeziorna is NOT a part of Warsaw. It is a separate city with its own local government, which is not subject to the Warsaw government. Konstancin and Jeziorna were also separate towns before World War II - Konstancin was more of a spa and residential area, while Jaziorna was more industrial; they were combined in Soviet times and have stayed that way. Of course, many people live in Konstancin on a daily basis, but work in Warsaw, this is also my case (although I am not a resident of Konstancin, but a neighboring charming village - Zalesie Górne) - nevertheless, none of us will say that we are from Warsaw (even if we were born there once). Further: Copernicus was not "half-German, half-Polish", as your companion said, but he came from a German family that was subject to the Polish king, in today's understanding one can say that he was a Polish citizen. He knew Polish, studied i.a. in Krakow, he served Polish kings, even in wars against Germany, but there is nothing to hide that he was a native German :)
