Can seniors (persons who will not live beyond another 10-25 years) invest for the long-term?

If your spending is less than your income and you have enough cash for emergencies, your investment philosophy should be the same regardless of your time horizon. The risk of volatility only exists at the moment you actually sell your securities. So if you can afford to delay the selling of a security such that you're never forced to sell at an unreasonably low price, you should buy companies according to the same principles. On the other hand, if the money you're investing is money you might need to spend in a couple months, it's practically a gamble. And it becomes less and less a gamble the longer you hold the security.

@@richardharrell7525He is hardly vague. And hardly non committal. He simply does not care what the market does in the near term, doesnt worry about Macroeconomics. Whereas pundits on tv confidently predict what will happen in the near future, a futile effort.
