It feels like Nicholson always talks to a concrete person on or off-screen, never to please a crowd. He doesn't care. That's one way to maintain cool.

jack is terrific as a speaker. warren beaty is revered and very famous for doing so much less. I know, I know, there is Reds, Bonnie and Clyde etc. even Bugsy and many others, but I'll be damned if he's a force of much over the years. Jack on the other hand..wow.
