Nooo, don't kick out Ally. I have a little confession. I too had the same problem with bits stuck in my hair. I did strain it but it appears that I didn't pick a strainer with the finest mesh. It wasn't aloe vera either. I didn't have any. I decided to not take that half mile walk uphill to the shop to get some (not that cheap here) then do a 24 hour allergy patch test I decided to use what I had. I used cucumber. I never repeated that mistake again. Banana, avocado and coconut milk work fine for me.

Oh, baby boy let me tell you the secret on how to get all that aloe out without needing to blend it. You gotta put it in the freezer then put it in the fridge to defrost then cut it open and the whole leaf will gush out. This works because the water in the aloe crystalizes when it freezes and punctures the cell walls then as it defrosts it returns back to the liquid state.

For easy application, blend aloe vera gel, strain, and put it in a spray bottle. I recommend applying the oil after you spray the aloe vera juice on your hair. The aloe vera juice won't mix well with the oil because it is watery. If you wanna use aloe vera gel as a leave in, just add more water when you blend(so there won't be product buildup), strain it, and once again apply it with a spray bottle. Seal in the moisture with a few drops of oil if you want.

This is so true I tried aloe vera deep conditioner and on my hair ( I'm a true 4c) and my hair felt amazing but I had to ask myself if it was worth all the work...I cut up the plant blended and strained it the aloe vera plant but because it was more gel than juice only a small amount of juice actually came out. I ended up using two leafs and it was still not enough. Soooooo smart me decided to just the remaining gel. It covered my entire scalp and the full length of my hair ( 4c super thick, extremely coily & should length). It was great so I thought, when it was time to raise the nightmare began..even after rinsing for over 40 minutes because my hair is so coily and thick I still didn't get it all out, it was peices tangled up in my ends ( and yes I was working in small sections ).....BUT I WILL ADMIT MY HAIR FELT EVET HYDRATED ... there has to be a better way to use this amazing fresh plant and get the benefits. If anyone has any ideas let me know

I use aloe vera gel for my pre poo so I just put my hair into 4 sections and on each section I take my time to put the gel all throughout my hair and scalp then (twisting each section into 2, total 8 twists) put on plastic bag for like 15 mins then shampoo or co wash. But I use the gel from Whole Foods I haven't gotten the plant yet. Loved the video! Everything is just trial and error! ❤️

Then I add it along with other oils to my deep conditioner sometimes even leave it overnight if its protien free. And yes straining could help unless you have a juicer or some 500 blender. Etc. I hope this helps

this is what i do when i use the leaf once i've peeled, cubed/sliced/blended/strained - i double strain it and put it in a spray bottle. any leftover gel is put in the fridge for the next application. if there's a lot left over [and there usually is] i freeze it. you could even freeze it in a ice tray and thaw one/two cubes in the fridge the day before you'll be using it. I use the spray for my scalp and ends in between 'green housing'. another idea to help you remove the flakes - if you have a DENMAN brush - while your hair is still wet - detangle your hair and make small sections - next take a nylon knee-hi and pull the nylon so that it touches the base of the bristles. GENTLY AND SLOWLY brush each small section. the flakes/gel should come out on the nylon. you may have to remove the nylon each time you do a run through to clear the bristles. ADDENDUM - NAPTURA85 also uses a knee hi nylon to strain - i do this now and find i have NO issues with gel residue or pulp lingering in my hair.

Using bentonite clay does have a natural ph of 8/9 its alkaline but mix with ACV will bring you to a 6/7 which is perfect for a proper clay wash on Low poo hair. Remember will you can only lift your cuticle with heat or a high alkaline products. Low porosity hair hates things that closes its cuticles because it closes itself. Thanks Will😙😙😙!!!

Hilarious. But on the real side: let the cut aloe vera leaf stand upright , cut side down, for a few hours b4 using. The yellow latex will drain out. Trim the sides and cut open length wise. With the side of a small parking knife or steak knife begin lightly scraping downwards on one of the cut pieces over a glass bowl. The gel will flow in a liquified form into the bowl and is ready to be directly applied to hair or mixed according to preference.
