According to the NNA (National Notary Association):
😵. “California has some of the most stringent application requirements for Notaries in the U.S. - including a required education course and background check - and the mandatory exam is among the most challenging in any state. The test, based on the state’s Notary Public Handbook, is proctored, and applicants must score at least 70 percent in order to receive a California commission. Renewing Notaries must also take the exam again each time they wish to renew their commission.”

Was the test questions factual or more situational? Like word problems? I saw a practice test that was all situational like “nancy notary did this….”. I do like 90% on the factual tests but I failed on the situational practice tests
I'm curious did you just follow and study the handbook for notary and then take the test or did you actually take a class because I'm trying to save money here if I can learn it without actually going to a class you know what I mean because like the nna they charge $79 for their notary class what indicates what did you do did you just study the handbook and then take the test or what PS I'm from New York we don't have to take a class here but still curious did you just study the handbook

Hi ShawBrothersGirl. I hear you! Save cash where you can. I took the California mandatory 6 hour notary course through the NNA. That course must be taken to take the state exam. We have to provide the certificate of completion to take the exam. I think the course helped me with the notary language and terms. I played the modules over and over. Then I studied the "handbook". When I took the test I noticed alot of the questions were from everything the handbook covers.

Hey I have a question, I want to take the test but there’s only 2021 handbook? And not the 2022… what do you recommend should I wait for the new one or just go for it?
