    Great report! I think this was actually your best in-game commentary yet, because it was a nice balance between talking about what's happening in the game and talking about Mark IV rules, thoughts on models and changes, etc.

    Forgetting puting the Wanderers paths at the end of your turn is way more common than one might think. I have NEVER remembered to do so.

    The Skin & Moans really need the "start with one corpse token" benefit from the MK3 theme force to be useful. Currently you need one grave ghoul per and then keep the Death Knell close enough to both them and the dread rots in the hope the enemy bothers to kill the rots and then two turns to hand the bodies over if you have two.

    Picked up Infernals end of MkIII, but haven’t played yet. Nice to see how they work in MkIV and Thank. God. Tithe is gone

    In the beginning, after you killed the Howlers, mike technically got vengeance on his tormentors (they activate when a warrior is killed within 10”) so that may have changed the angles a little Towards the end you’re talking about how to deal with those neigh slayers, what about trampling them? Might be able to deal with them spreading out with repo. Also you asked the question about hermit. Yeah he’s only infernals now. Also that shunt ability in mk3, infernals could technically use it on the objective, but it was such a niche situation that you could effectively ignore it. Also lastly, the desolator when it is summoned now it has a small aura that was the same as it’s cloud. As it is written now it technically doesn’t turn off. I’m not sure if that’s an oversight or is intended. He might have been able to move the desolator up into the neigh slayers to make them use the unstoppable card or just be negated. The play I would have done is turn 1, run the spare cultists forward and screen like you did with the pumpkins, summoned a snake behind them to collect their souls. That would have proc’d vengeance on the tormentors which with rites of torment give them a 15” threat to keep the Grymkin honest and enough essence on zaateroth to do what you need her to do.

    The Death Knell is a Battle Engine not a solo, so it couldn't score a solo zone anyway.

    @@lordravenblade , you are right, back when Mk4 first dropped death knell was a solo until they brought battle engines back for everyone iirc. It was goofy because you could slam it since it didn't have the massive battle engine rule. That's why you'll see Erica's models around it the death knell and not behjnd it. Early Mk4 was a wild time :D

    @@tntpaul1376 how strange. It seems like a huge oversight. I can’t think of another faction that relies on a battle engine the way grymkin seems to so I don’t know why they just didn’t give it the standard “battle engine rules” even if battle engines as a classification didn’t exist. My whole local group swapped to Conquest when mk4 came out so I haven’t really kept up until recently.

    47:50 ~ish "[Hermit] can take essence away", is that relevant now though, since there is no tithe now? formerly, you could use him to strip the last-kept-essence-point-for-tithe from horrors, and thus make them vanish. but now...

    It is still very relevant. Dark Prophecy has an 8-inch swath. In a congested area, if my infernals kill an enemy hermit, and I haven't used my horrors yet, or if my Infernal Master still hasn't activated, and they're near the hermit when it pops, all that essence is lost. In reality, that probably shouldn't be happening. In Mk3, throwing the hermit 5 inches away at an enemy model was a good strategy, and cultists could add essence to the horrors to pay tithe. In mk4, the throw isn't reliable anymore, but cultists could still add essence. For the enemy hermit to be that far into my army, things have gone awfully wrong.

    Hey there! In playing MKIV, we're all trying to figure out how to navigate these scenarios away from the MKIII mindset. We've been in-housing some scenarios the past few weeks with DEWM for NOVA Open 2023. In creating these, we are actively working on ways to break-up that mid-table mash-up which has been pretty successful with positive player feedback. Once we complete testing these scenarios, we are going to post them online to share with the Warmachine community :)

    i am new to the game and i have a question: i just played my first games against legion of everblight (4 in total). so is there even any way to beat them? playing grymkin here. their army is both super tanky and does insane damage, especially spray damage which always deletes half my army in one turn... my opponent is also new to the game, but he just spams his troops in my face and im done. i cant outrange him, i cant outpace him, and when i outsmart him it really doesnt matter, because his army is almost invincible. especially this absolutely ridiculous 5 headed hydra with 5 attacks per fury/5 shots per rn-attack and the absolutely ridiculous deer riders that are SUPER fast, super tanky, super strong and have ranged just to top it off these two units are enough to wipe almost my whole army off the board. i had a long look in his codex and basicly every unit he has seems to be outright waay better than my equivalent for example my cavalry(neighslayers) vs his cavalry(nyss raptors). 16 points for spd6,mat6,def13,arm14 - max dmg potential is (p+s7+12)=19, max HP is 13 - repo3, armor piercing, and then i can either parry, play dead or cause grievous wounds as special ability of the warhorse. vs: 18 points for spd9,mat6,def14,arm15 - max dmg potential is 28 both in melee or ranged thanks to weapon master and poison, max HP is 25 - repo5 well yes, i halve armor with neigh slayers, but if i halve a arm20 model my max potential dmg is still only 19-10=9, which is only 1 point better than 28-20=8, and only against a arm20 model, and only in melee with a much squishier unit that is also slower... WTF? same goes for my piggybacks vs his ogrun warmongers (who just outright killed my heavy warbeast in one go, with 3 models) oh and they have rng12 vs my 10max across the board. i cant even support my troops with my warlock or solos, because his insane instakill spray attack either matches or outranges me, so i lose the game instantly if i get in spellrange

    i have beat minions and skorne before, but legion seems impossible, its not even close. actually its not even a stretch, im just getting steamrolled without any strategy except "run in the middle and melt everything"

    Hey there! This is Erica from the bat rep episode. Welcome to the Wicked Harvest and Warmchine! I can defiantly emphasize with you. Legion of Everblight along with Protectorate of Menoth are the hardest match-ups for me and my Grymkin army. As much as I love piggies, I find myself not taking a unit of piggybacks in their current state. I wish they had eight boxes instead of five. I think they are over costed in their current form for what tools and stats they bring in MKIV. Especially with only one attack at MAT 6 with so much anti-tough in the game right now. What command cards are you taking? Ill Omens has helped me tip the dice ever so slightly in my favor when used defensively. Labyrinth stacks well with the clockatrice's animus to help slow Legion's fast warbeasts from moving up the board. A well timed Ruin can make it so models like Golab can't sprint away after carving out your pieces. The UA is a must with the neighslayers. I would not recommend taking them without the warhorse. Their feint death ability allows them to self deliver as they can not be targeted by ranged attacked or spells. I've had a lot of luck recently running the Heretic with his improved Fortune's Path bonus. Currently, 4-1 with him since the update last week. However, all of my games end the same... I basically get completely tabled by my oppenment and have pulled off a Hail Mary assassination on their leader each time. Between the +2/+2 from a clockatrice, 2 hex blasts with boosted damage at POW 15 from the Heretic and two POW 15 shots from a frightmare tend to get the job done. I use K. Rose to let the frightmare shoot twice. Longfellow is in the list of course to help clean up if needed. I have also started including two gorehounds in my list to help deliver my army. I basically invest 12pts in models to run up the board and die while I advance my other pieces. Sadly i dont have a ton of models to chose from at this point in time. since i am from europe, we dont have mk4 yet and almost all models have very long delivery times given the current state of worldwide logistics (was waiting for my Dreamer for 5 months!). Atleast it seems that it is not just my incompetence that causes me to get steamrolled here.     sounds like you're playing it wrong. Typhon doesn't get 5 attacks per fury. Most players actually think typhon is a waste of points.
