Oh man, I feel you on the perfection paralysis. I liked the mix of introspection and hobby content. Subscribed.

Thank you, I really appreciate it. honestly I get bored with saying the same stuff and I think you all don't wanna hear me repeat the same process of how I paint things in my style all the time haha so recently I thought of trying something new and just trying to have a one to one chat with everyone about aspects of the hobby that we all can be affected by. kind of breaks up the typical KZread tutorial with something new to talk about each video. have a great day

@@daemonkrusherpaints I think you’re onto something there. The human condition concerns us all and the hobby space isn’t detached from that experience. I once owned around 8000 points of 4th edition space wolves, out of which exactly one infantry model ever got painted, because I found the standard paint scheme uninspiring, but couldn’t figure out my “perfect” alternative for years. 😅

@@MenschWerdeWesentlich thank you I appreciate the kind words. its the one thing that no matter the gap in our cultures always is prevalent, our gift of humanity. wow that's a lot of space wolves, to be fair I can honestly understand why you wouldn't want to paint them in the standard scheme its cool but a bit bland and definitely doesn't get the mind racing with ideas and enthusiasm. what was your perfect scheme in the end?

I'm curious how do you varnish your dirty down rust without altering it: airbrush? rattlecan? brush? Thanks.

Hi thanks for the question, its an airbrush, it did change very slightly but hardly at all, main thing is to heat your models area of rust with a hair dryer then do 2 super light sprays with the airbrush varnish, dry that with the hair dryer and just repeat a few more times. Pretty quickly you will build up a fully sealed layer of varnish then you can do a couple of normal layers of varnish to really seal it in. great thing about an airbrush is the layers are so thin you can get away with lots of super thin layers without loosing details. If you only have rattle cans I would do the same but try for an indirect spray over the rust areas just catching it each time, eventually you will build up a fully sealed layer of varnish.

nice work. What is Paint Too retarder and why are you mixing it in to you paints?

@@howardcoates6985 hi it's a saying for a mix of paint and retarder, the ratio of X amount of paint too x amount of retarder. So I add retarder to a lot of my paints as it slows the drying time of the paint down a lot, this means I can use a wet clean brush to feather out blends without getting tide marks or staining from where the paint has sat for a couple minutes as it's not dried or really started to properly dry yet. For my style of painting it works well and it works great with wet blending paints too.
