You'd be wrong. THE Shas'o Kais (as in the one Farsight and Shadowsun know) is insane because the Earth Caste messed up his suspended animation cycle so was trapped awake for centuries while Farsight and Shadowsun were fighting. He has a level of xenophobia to make any human commissar proud and is fully aware of the warp and psykers and he hates them as much as humans too.

@hblake5213 he also started suggesting tau exterminatus weapons to the horror of the earth and fire caste present because it would be more efficient than sending in soldiers, things like poisoning the air/water or using seismic waves to rupture the landmasses

It’s really cool that he’s actually a playable character in one of the Dawn of War games too, rarely do we get to play as any legendary figures in 40k games

It's part of the reason I love this character. One fan theory I saw a while ago which is really cool is that every game of Dark Crusade is a simulation he ran through. We know that the canon ending is the ork's victory, so every other multiplayer game, every random singleplayer game, every combination that anyone irl has ever played is a simulation that Kais went through while in stasis. One of the reasons he's so murderous is because he's seen his friends and soldiers and ethereal butchered over and over countless times, and that's also why he's so good at killing any combination of enemy.

Just so you know. He is so bloody to his enemies that ethereals use him as a last resort, if Sun is not available.

In one instance he suggests that the t'au earth caste just create the t'au version of an exterminatus, using chemical warfare or disrupting the seas of a planet. The other t'au are of course shocked by the violence of his suggestion but it does show that if they actually wanted to, the t'au could be just as grimdark as the rest of the world.

The most badass Tau to ever live! He can do so much just by himself that even a Dark Angel's successor chapter resorted to orbital bombardment in a failed attempt to kill this gigachad. I really liked him in DoW Dark Crusade. His dialogue is amazing, especially when attackinb the Chaos Space Marine stronghold where he thinks Eliphas speaking to him is just static and chatter in his comms. Absolute gigachad.

I want an XCOM inspired game were you play as a Tau fire team initially made up of fire warriors but then you can recruit Kroot, Vespids, Gue'vesa, Terellian and other alien auxiliaries into your squad. That would be so fucking sick.

Always like this guy in Dark Crusade, he probably one of my top ten Warhammer 40K characters. A badass who isn't afraid of being nice to his bros.

I know nothing about war hammer but your intros to these characters are so fucking cold, i put a hoodie on.

What Genre of music would you say this background music is? Is it electronic? Is it some kind of Techno? Is it Dark Synth?? Is it personally made?? All the 40k channels have some crazy good background music but i never can find an actual source of it all.

@@warkijiji4474 Different character from Fire Warrior, the timelines keep that from being canon, but yes he is the Dark Crusade guy. There's a theory that all the games (singleplayer and multiplayer) that people did with the game are just simulations he went through while in stasis, since the ork victory is the canon ending.

Cause they’re a faction for Mary sue toting fucking weebs who don’t understand the setting of 40k at all. Like a shitty stand in for what could have been a cool faction but never left it’s concept phase, so they just look out of place and goofy on top of not fitting the narrative or style of 40k. They just suck. Their models are ugly and they are horrible on tabletop too.

@@DominatorLegend I was kinda hoping Chaos won for Dark Crusade, Eliphas’s are voice and dialogue are Premium with a capital P but when you read his lore he gets nothing but L’s, even his title ‘the Inheritor’ is a backhanded title, he didn’t reach the rank of dark apostle truly, just killed the old one and Lorgar shamed him by saying he inherited it.

I like to imagine during training session in the mind 39999 - a random khorne demon just appeared in his mind scape not to posses merely drawn by the incredible combat focus mind . Just hang out in a battlefield and then died eventually.

The Tau equivalent of Sly Marbo. Even Farsight would be very hard pressed to survive an encounter with this guy.

The T'au commander in DOW Dark Crusade was fun, he's really fun and adaptable to play but can be so annoying to kill. Also, did you really think you could just say "Fought in Kronus but was then placed into cryo sleep" when we all know the magpies beaten his ass?

Yes we did think he could say that, since he survived Dark Crusade. The ethereal in the campaign died, not him.

You can probably see why they don't use him often in lore.

It wasn't the Dark Angels, it was one of their successor chapters, The Angels Of Absolution, but they were already at low strength due to a Psychic Pleague that turned everyone it touched into a vessel for the white fire that carried it, he killed a good chunk of them yes, but only the ones within their fortress monastery, which was only a small garrison not the full chapter He also didn't fair to well against their Chapter Master who nearly cleaved his suit in half several times during their duel, yeah they still called in an orbital strike, but that was their plan all along it wasn't a last resort, they used their astropaths as bait to draw him into a trap and kept him there until it was sprung, he survived it yeah but he had to flee, he even admitted he'd be no match for a Space Marine Chapter Master without the suit he used to get as far as he did, hell he was nearly killed by the first group of competent Space Marines he faced, those being Terminators armed with heavy weapons and close quarters weapons, not denying he's not an effective killer but he didn't solo an entire chapter, he just soloed roughly 50 or so garrison Marines, and over half of them were infected with a Pleague that left them without proper tactics

The Tau’s very own Mary Sue. Assuming the things he did in Fire Warrior are considered canon

AFAIK the Fire Warrior games are still canon. It is rumored that during the game, he was secretly empowered/partly possessed by Khorne because the Blood God wanted to corrupt him into a new champion. After the game he shook off the Khornate influence, but it left his soul scarred. Khorne was happy at all the death Kais caused, and was waiting for a future chance to reclaim Kais....

In Dark Crusade the ethereal is killed but Kais manages to escape. Probably one of the things that contributed to him growing much angrier. Because not all t'au have such weak morale that losing their etheral makes them abandon the Greater Good.

Meanwhile if I was in his place stuck for a 100 years 10000 bottles of beer pass one around....

So in Dawn of war it's cannon that the blood ravens killed the necrons but the Tau won the war.

Yes i know the dates don't match up. I do not care. Retcons of such things happen constantly in 40k, and in my head he is the same kais as the one from fire warrior. Also love that when he goes on one man army missions he uses a ghostkeel, which besides being the perfect battlesuit for such work, also makes him the only named character to use the battlesuit i believe.

Wish we had a model of him. I've seen some kitbashes, but I'd like something like his model from the game.

"Only ash shall remain" implies he's still 10yo in the 41st millenia

Fun Fact: You play as Shas'O Kais in Dawn of War: Dark Crusade.

Somehow, it is funny that the german word for Month (Monat) is used as a name to describe this method of Combat.

The thing is that he was put into simulations of his combat time on Kronus, fighting almost all the factions in the Galaxy. Unless the marines were also having memories implanted in their head he has the actual experience to back it up, plus the time that most other t'au never will have to learn from it.

@@GlorinMF Yeah the Primaris Marines wer fighting attkes to the death (in their minds) for thousands of years. Every restart of the simulation was them fighting against impossible hordes trying to get 1 more kill than last time. Different tactics, bare hands, fucking teeth, whatever. Not shitting on Tau dude, he's cool. Everything in this universe is cranked up to 11, so 100 years for some is just a drop in the bucket for others.

Just watch as he gets a model and becomes either a new HQ or possibly even a Lord of War in the codex that's about to drop

It's debatable. The ethereals might have done something to experiment and try to make him stronger but one of the t'au who woke him up didn't even realize he'd been awake the whole time, so if it was supposed to be that way not everyone was in the loop.
