Who else looks forward for the moment when Arch finally gets his new Total war: Warhammer with Skaven, plays them and discovers that the Creative Assembly did them horribly wrong?

I think the idea of playing as Morrs makes sense in the campaign, with the 4 great clans being political forces you need to curry favour with in order to unlock access to their patronage for units and structures aligned to them. of course, get too strong and the 4 great clans might just decide "fuck you" and create a nice little end game state for Morrs

Which would make it impossible to advance in any way. Civilization and everything we have today is because of stability and cooperation. This is why I've never jived with grimdark fiction. It's totally unrealistic. Good game, the "lore" is laughable.

Its today's relative peace that's an aberration... In the past four centuries Europeans conquered virtually the whole planet - while constantly fighting among themselves. It was the merciless grind of endless European war that allowed their civilization to basically emerge globally triumphant. Only in 1914 did Europeans get so good at killing each-other that the argument began to be made that "maybe this is too much strife"... of course the fascists disagreed on principle, and... Needless to say, you don't just kill each-other like retards: you group into genetically-similar groups - then kill each-other...

Skaven society is set up basically so that only the most intelligent lead. They grind each-other in a constant process of selection that allows only the most tenacious to survive and prosper. AND they can sustain this grind because of their ridiculous fecundity... No wonder they basically win.

they probably are hints for DLC Skaven factions. Once Ogre Kingdoms and Chaos Dwarfs are added. Clan Rictus will be added, since they reside in the Dark Lands. The Base Skaven faction, the one that is just named Skaven, is probably going to be led by the Warlord-General. Since he is based in Skavenblight, the Capital of Skavendom. Clan Mors is popular, and we already have the other 2 factions that fight for Karak Eight Peaks. So them being in-game is a must. Clan Carrion is weird, they would work more similar to a Beastmen Horde than a regular faction. But maybe CA throws them to give us variety, just like how Savage Orc tribes work a bit different to regular Orc Tribes.

I wish -Willard- ,,, I mean Arch, would, , , _indulge_ himself and do a lore video on the great horned rat.

Clan Mors shall unite the Skaven under one banner, and possibly through loyalty and/or respect (a.k.a. Fear and Power)

I imagine the four primary factions are going to act like the "research" tree for the skaven factions, whether they unlock units, or just increase the capability of certain units.

Part of me hopes they use the same system they put in for Age of Wonders 3. Like Arch said, an entirely separate map that's only underground. In AoW3 they put specific entrance/exit points on both maps and let you move as you wish. Hell you could even tunnel through the walls with certain units and change the map for ambushes and discovering caverns long lost in time.

This episode was quite enjoyable Arch. Thanks for it.

with the Skaven clans being more specialized to one thing or another, like clan Eshin and their assassins, it would be cool to see a feature where you wont have access to some units that are exclusive to other clans and you have to "trade" soldiers from other clans.

thoroughly pleased as always. the definitive source for lore and speculation. I am hoping the farsqueeker and warprail are implemented by 3. skryre should be a beast of a faction to say the least(with hell pit being nothing to scoff at) and I sure hope all four major factions are properly represented. I feel eshin shouldn't be a faction(they are, after all, a faction for hire more than any other.

Im guessing the symbols are more a hint of skaven then clans, but even so Pestilence will probably be a lord pack. We have seen in game 1 that rivalry between two lords or factions are what they are going for so what not prophet of sotek vs skrolk and the pestilence

If the choice of icons is not a random decoration but indeed a hint at what clans will be represented we may have a very intersting dynamic - Warlord General Paskrit, tasked by the Council, vs clan Mors which is very much in opposition to said Council, and elite Rictus stormvermin vs rag-tag hordes of clan Carrion.

i quite like the Skaven leader of clan Skryer from Mark of Chaos. The ones who worked for the Chosen of Nurgle/Khorne.

a cool thing could be u can play these lesser clans and ally to the great clans kinda like marks of chaos and u get availability to that clans tech or units

Note that in the council of thirteens opposite - lock voting system the group of clans made up here make up one side of a split council, if you assume the seerlord is on their side. With the Seerlord, Mors, Rictus and whatever Paskrits position means they directly balance the four great clans. So I suspect the council is split and the four great clans are doing their own thing while these "loyalist" clans are following the seerlords bidding. By split council i mean every vote has been blocked by the casters opposite number, leaving only the vote of the horned rat (cast by the seerlord so long as the others accept it).

BigBroLittleSis1 lol XD, it’s CA what do you expect XD. that trait fits carrion a lot better. Rictus should have a bunch of stormvermin buffs and cost reduction. Oh wait they put that on clan Morrs who are the richest clan in all of Skavedom, they should have had a bunch of buffs to building cost and money, nope. Haizz, at least we got all of the almost same stuff outta the way. Carrion is skaven horde faction, skyre have bunch of buff for globadiers doomwheels and warpfire thrower and warp lightning cannon, also a unit pack consist of warplock jezzai, rattatatata and stormfiends. Moulder have buff for rat ogres, hell pit abomination with a unit pack consist of rat hounds and stormfiend (most likely CA will put in stormfiends because it seems CA really like Fatshark interpretation of stormfiends in Vermintide 2).

What he means in something like the Beastmen where its a no settlement faction and is just a copy paste of them. Which is why people want to see Morrs or the 4 main clans. By horde you mean mass amounts of Skaven, which is true but not what hes talking about.

I got a bit of a different theory on this, and it involves the locations of the runes on the map. If you look around the runes there is also a darkened background around them, potentially signifying their areas of control. With the badlands and alike around the map, consider that big larger block between the areas of the map that the Skaven clans don't own. Could be a tease of a underworld map and the areas that each individual clan posesses. So Mors at Karak-eight peaks. With Rictus further to the east of them. only thing that doesnt fit with the theory is why is pascrit that far south

So far these Logos have been accurate. We have Clan Mors and Clan Rictus in-game. Now how will we get the other 2 clans. Will Clan Carrion introduce Skaven Hordes in the Old World? I would like that, specially since we don't have that much of a Skaven presence in the Old World part of the map. But the Warlord-General of Skavendom. I mean currently Skavenblight is held by Clan Skryre, another potential DLC/FLC faction. Does this mean we might get some new settlements in the Old World. I would definitely appreciate the Black Chasm in Bretonnia and the Cursed City of Mordheim on the Empire.

I'll admit, even though somewhat hate the Skaven, Clan Rictus sounds like the Skaven clan I'd play as the game. Just so long as they have a fairly different roster compared to the other Skaven. If Clan Rictus got a sword and great weapon version of the Stormvermin, then that'd be great. Also. Arch. Get on with making videos about the Skaven Clans, and maybe eventually the Savage and Black Orcs!

Tripp Fields Really now? I would've thought that'd be Clan Rictus with their more martial ways. And speak of which. Clan Rictus is my favorite if I had a favorite Skaven clan. A Spartan-ish clan is just what I'm looking for in TW:W. Either them or Clan Eshin.

Chubbyninja Ninja-Brony​ yep, definitely. If they make them DLC, like they did chaos, I will rage lol. On a different note, Clan Volkn are a pretty interesting minor clan. Their base is a volcano and they are pyromaniacs who dye their fur red and use Obsidian weapons. I would also hazard to say they are probably good smiths, but that's just speculation on my part. They won't make an appearance, but still cool.
