The opening quotation was warning enough, but as soon as I saw the Arden forest (cheeky GW spelling), immediately I first thought: “This duchy - beastmen.” “...Encouraged to travel” would be Artois elder-speak for, “Get out of this forest! Save yourselves!” And yet, you don't get to return home, lest your former neighbours, friends and family come at you like you're a vampire thrall. Happy trails! Admittedly, the duke and attending nobles seem to be devoted to fortifying all the populace of this duchy. Not that he has much choice, but to not allow his fully-wooded house to be overrun by the beasts of Chaos. “Renard le Chaseur”!? Literally, Fox the Hunter? Accompanied by a pair of other animal species. Hah! Brandywine and his pets' names also add to yet more humourous play on words. Is Artois the source of the most skilled lumberjacks in all of Bretonnia? Are some axemen here especially skilled at chopping down beastmen on galloping horseback? A particular, warthog-like boar heraldry, repeated for this duchy's houses of nobility and bannermen. The Duke Chilfroy himself is covered in them, while dressed in full battle armour; seen after 8:12. That's an awesome halberd he's holding. And then, his helmet's headdress, of course... “Snort!” “Expendable outsiders as scouts”...really reinforcing the sense of 'enclosed' here, both within these wooded wilds and from without the duchy's borders. The French-, and Warhammer's European- in general, familiar naming is something that I like. As a native of 'real-world Naggaroth', in Bretonnia and everywhere else, the derived and direct naming is historical and traditional of the actual 'old world'. Unfortunately, this may be the first location featured in this subseries that I can't conceive of viably visting, on a touring sort of basis. If the only way that I, as a foreigner, am getting in is as a scout then I have to defer to this video's intro dialogue by coachman Eldergar. If each and any village expects at least one annual attack by a herd of beastmen, then what is the threat like for those who are out among the depths of the forest? Constant, is the impression one's given by GDN's tour guide. And with that, I don't think I'd want to hazard (unfortunately) voyaging through all-forest Artois without being a part of a trained military unit of some kind. Since the lifelong native-born Artoisians haven't been able to find that suspected source of mutating Chaos/warpstone, who else could? It's too bad...I like the woods. So, this section of Bretonnia is still interesting since it is one of its fourteen regional parts. I'm still curious as to the origin of the location in Artois named “Sigmarsheim”. Your pronunciation of French was excellent, GDN. With much thanks to you Narrator, always, for your work on this series filling out the world of Warhammer. I wish you well, have an awesome week and may the blessings of the Lady be upon you.

I like idea of a woodland realm with all kinds of secrets to explore when I read up on Artois hero's Lore and the land itself the very first thing I did was take my Legos from my knights Kingdom and old Legos and made some of the landmass and realms in Lego form Of Artois Speaking of Legos I think they pretty much missed out on making Warhammer fantasy for Legos I mean they had Lord of the rings why not Warhammer fantasy if they made some sort of deal with GW they could have made a killing with all the races and hero's in Lego sets But me being me I started making my own Lego factions of Warhammer myself and it's a lot easier you really don't have to paint very much except you have to go find different Lego parts to make the colors uniforms for Empire And elves and dwarves skaven and chaos was a different story to make And Very hard But Bretonnia was very easy
