Tis'gud my friend. Its so true that Sigigmund and Kharn were good friends during the Great Crusade. In fact it was Kharn who taught Sig to put chains on his blade so he wouldn't loss it. He used it to cut Fulgrim at the Siege of Terra. Though one detail I think alot people get wrong is Kharn may be a blood crazed berserker at face value, but Kharn is still Kharn even in the current setting. Albeit more or less sane from what he was during the Crusade, he still/was a very intelligent and underestimated Space Marine.

Somewhere out there is a timeline where Guilliman found Angron first, supplied and assisted his slave army to Freedom, bringing that world into the fold of the realm of Ultramar and seeing the sheer danger the frothing berserker posed disposed of him quietly (likely via orbital strike) doing what the Emperor didn't have the heart to as while he would recognise another of his kind there was no kinship there and pragmatic to the end he would remove a threat to ordered rule and everyone was a lot happier for that turn of events, The Warhounds who remainded an orphaned, but sane Legion (or got a functional clone if Big E got samples to his gene lab), Sigmund who didn't loose a freind and the future populace of Armageddon who didn't get purged as thr Demon Primach never existed (I assume the Space Wolves and Inquisitor still square off somewhere else some things are just inevitable)

Somewhere out there is a timeline where an eldar farseer didn't just predict a future where angron turns chaos but instead predicted that angron turns to chaos because he is implanted with butchers nails after he is captured by slavers after he is grieviously wounded after being attacked by eldar assasins sent by said farseers... So he doesn't send them. So he isn't captured, so he doesn't get butchers nails. Maybe he doesn't oppose slavers, maybe he does, but he does it while being significantly more intelligent and capable, and when the emperor finds him he is a functional being. Eldaar, the reason why the galaxy sucks that demands the respect meant for long dead glorious ancestors that actually deserve it.

@cathulionetharn5139 And perhaps this surprisingly clear thinking Farseer will use those surprisingly accurate powers of foresight to rise through the ranks of a multi-species cabal and when it comes time to reach out to the twin sons of the Emperor Alpharius and Omegon he'll make a very different proposition, one that shifts the scales in favour of a decisive Loyalist victory, snuffing the Heresy at Istavaan V allowing the preservation of the weapon that was the Imperial Truth and give an actual chance for victory over the arch enemy and creating a very different Imperium

I feel like this deserves a scene painted in oil, showing him from behind, sitting atop a hill of rubble and ruin, and staring at what the world has become. As he witnesses the betrayal, the turning, and the corruption that Horus brought to Terra's doorstep. The sun being only slivers of light through the smoke and fires, and only silhouettes of titans in the distance. He sees the whole battlefield, and weight of his actions alongside the magnitude of the entire event becoming heavier than the sword and armor he carries. And that painting better be called "A Champion's Gift"

The Emperor has played a major part in Kharn’s betrayal. He leave the World Eaters to the hands of a future enemy: Angron. He ask a potential foe to lead his legions, and logically the enemy damned Kharn and World Eaters to their slow and agonising demise. If Sigismund wants to blame someone for the loss of his best friend, he should blame the Emperor!

If only Sigismund was like that in Lore. The truth is, once he put a hand on the Blacksword, what was left of his personality died. There was nothing left. Only machine of flesh that wants nothing more than to kill those he considers enemies. The only thing he wants now, as in during latest siege of Terra book, the death and the end, is killing Abaddon, simply because Abby is one of the old guard and biggest name on the block left. Then put his skull by the Golden throne in tribute that Khorne would approve. Kharn wasn’t that great too. He was dick riding on Angron so much he killed Skane, Mago, and basically all other of his so called friends/brothers in World Eater legion, not to mention he was the one who insisted on getting the nails to the entire legion. He wasn’t the worst World Eater true, guys like Captain Shaka of 3rd Company, or that bastard Tarugar, were simply idiots, but Kossolax, Brond, Lheor, Arian, and many more deserved much better than Angron and Kharn.

It's as amusing as it is pathetic that an internet meme can do more justice to and provide a more consistent presentation of characters like Kharn, Sigismund, and the entirety of the 12th Legion than the entire Siege of Terra series. Especially the flaming pile of garbage that was Echoes of Eternity and Warhawk. Those books talked me out of playing those armies and never had to. The writers that put their names on those abominations are geniuses who have done fantastic work before. I'm left with the writers that got me into those characters mocking me for coming this far with them, and now only willing to remain in the hobby because of people like you. Isn't that hilarious?
