Especially when his sons where having mental breakdowns, nails making them go berserk, or general Daddy issues. Which begs the question of what happened to the two missing Primarchs that required the Emperors attention to deal with.

Its been hinted that they were killed or otherwise made to disappear because of unknown reasons. Leman Russ is assumed to have killed at least one of them.

The Emp is ball parking 100k standard years old in 30k. We also know that Horus aged millennia while in the warp and E spent who knows how long there. The Emp was over 50k years old when the Chaos gods STARTED to manifest themselves. There is no part of that charecter that understands humanity or cares about what the wet robots he made 30 years ago "needs".

TY GDN for another great video, this introduction has gotten me eager for the next installment as Dorn is my favorite loyalist primarch ( I had a black templar army once only because I lacked yellow paint at the time ) next to Leman Russ . I'd like to request that you do the different types of knight titans when you have a chance to fit them in. TY again & hope all is well with you .

  • @GrimDarkNarrator

For now, I'm doing obscure ones that fit one video per chapter. I'll be doing a few more of those, then I'll move on to chapters that take 2 or 3 videos per chapter. After that I'll probably move on to the legions/founding chapters themselves. However, I might also start a separate series for first founding chapters before that :)

I have a lore question that is not directly related to Rogal Dorn, but are there any non space marine based military units that are drafted from worlds that space marines collect from? like, if people are physically capable soldiers, but not genetically compatible with the space marine gene seed do they get placed into an imperial guard regiment or something?

  • @rosicroix777

Yes, all worlds do provide a variable amount of troops ( depending on the planets tithe grade ) to the Imperial Guard regularly. On homeworlds of any particular Space Marine chapter that planets chaptermaster is usually involved in organizing the planets PDF as well as selecting which troops will leave to serve in the guard. IG troops from such worlds are usually considered well trained in comparison to regements from a world that is not home to a space marine chapter.

Percy pretty much said everything I would've said. One thing I'd add is that this practice is usually common only on worlds that are technologically advanced and have large populations. A lot of space marines recruit from feral worlds, where the population is relatively small and composed literally of savages. Its rare to recruit IG units from these places. However, on civilized astartes recruitment-worlds, there will be a big chunk of the fit male population left even after recruitment. Regiments raised on these worlds are usually really proud to serve and are more disciplined than usual even if Guard life was a second best thing for them.

The most intriguing part of this to me is the fact that these guardsmen would probably react in a totally different way to seeing a space marine than any other regular human group. The likelihood that they've seen, and even interacted with space marines means that they would probably act more like how IG act when getting reinforcements from stormtroopers than with the reverence that other guardsmen who've never seen them before would have.
