Actually of the things you mentioned 40k didn’t actually take that much from those sagas. 40k took a lot from history though. They are basically crusaders. They stole little things though, like Alien

@@DylanJo123No one is "bad talking" franchises for being inspired by 40k. This is just to correct the mistaken assumption some are making here, that 40k is inspired by Gears and not the reverse. And furthermore, 40k is not inspired by Star Wars, but rather Starship Troopers, just as Dune took inspiration from Foundation, etc.

I've never seen the infinite hordes of the Tyranid depicted so realistically! Those swarms flowing like a tidal wave over the terrain are absolutely horrifying.

@@glendjunuslodoli211 i would say Helldivers 2 emphasizes more what it would be to be an actual guardsman out in the fields than what Darktide is. Darktide you are more of a Hero-unit. while in helldivers, you are just a mere soldiers. although with the access of as much lethal firepower as a dark angel, but then again, that was how the human empire was before the dark times anyway.

after more than 30 years of gaming its really hard to get excited for a game anymore, but this one is phenomenal

@@primarchxi6639 Idk I really liked 40k: Inquisitor, Bolt Gun, Necromunda: Hired Gun, Gothic Armada 2, Space Hulk: Death Wing, and Honorable mention Darktide(since it got good recently). Those are more recent 40k games that are not turned based that I think are pretty good.

Looks great! Sounds... not so great. I have issues with the standard bolter sounding a bit weak, but the worst offender is the chain sword. In some sequences you barely hear it.

Came here to post the same - especially the bolter. The sounds are way off and it doesn't have much effect on the smaller nids. Chunks should be blasted off them after a tiny delay

The sound design in general has been my main concern with this game since they first showed it. Also some ugly distracting UI elements like the big blue circle for melee looks unpolished

Anyone else notice at the start of the video one of the NPC's just straight up glides forward before the walking animation starts

I like how ‘heavy’ the marine seems when he’s walking but the feeling disappears as soon as he starts weightlessly sliding around in melee combat.

This is gonna open HUGE doors for good 40k video games

I am so hyped for this game! Looks incredible... I hope we get some backstory on what happened to Titus after the first game, his time with the Black Templars (because of his Chain of Zeal), how it came to be that he crossed the Rubicon, etc. I also haven't played PvP in a long time but I am looking forward to it, I really hope it will be excellent and that we can choose cosmetics from all the OG legions. Would love to have a badass Blood Angel on the loyalist side and a Thousand Son on the traitor side even if it's just cosmetics. Psykers would be cool though (not just the Sons, but librarians too) as long as they can keep it balanced.

I think the audio design could be a little better in places. Like in the first 1-2 minutes when the player drops down in that interior part on a metal platform, it didn't quite sound right. Otherwise super pumped - just think audio design is really important for immersion and the feeling of 'awesome' you want to get out of a game like this.

The thing I like the most about these games is conveying the realistic physics of someone with the size of the space marines wearing that big ass power Armor. The way it clinks and how the marine moves with it on. So cool.

I just hope that we get the option even if it’s something that we have to unlock when we complete the game to have our helmets on. Also, I might be an outlier here. But why is it still the Cadian shocktroopers? Don’t get me wrong, Cadia Stands! But it would be nice if they showed some different imperial guard regiments.

Because Cadia produced more guardsmen than any other place. First, they dont all come from the planet Cadia, they come from all over the Cadian Sector and get exported all over the galaxy. Second, they are so prolific because some planets that pay the tithe dont actually raise their own regiments, most will send their conscipts to the major guard regiment in the sector to be trained and to do indoc. The gear they use (Kantrael Pattern Lasgun and flak armor) are ubiquitous throughout the entire imperium. Regiments are chosen to be reinforced by the high lords with recruits based on their needs.... no sector has more need than the Cadian sector.

AGREED. I'm so tired of these Space Marines running around without their helmets. It makes them feel so incomplete to me. And right? Cadia and Ultramarines hogging up all the screentime. Pessimism aside, the game looks like an absolute blast, and I'm sure modding in helmets and maybe other chapters like we could for the first game will eventually be available
