Mine used to achieve a 412% crit chance with its Riven before the beamwork. Now it's like 300%, but still, nothing to sneeze at.

honestly i think i could say any beam weapon in warframe can be made to be powerful just by how beam weapons function in general. also i can't wait to see a top 3, "Heavy machine gun" primaries in warframe, just choose 3 assault rifles with a higher than average magazine size.

Synapse. red-red-red redhead crits at 13x. The end. Phage: Does approximately double what the phantasma does and also viral corrosive and cold Amprex: A third of Synapse damage, but the only chainer that still has the original number of targets chainable.

I don’t find myself using many beams lately. They tend to be status heavy and a lot of the content I enjoy features status-resistant enemies like acolytes and liches. The Phantasma sure is a good time.

Amprex, gaze, vermisplicer, synapse and ignis wraith can all be built from crit with some very satisfying results. Ur main issue is most beams aren’t single target dmg so for acolytes archons etc u wouldn’t want to use any of them anyway. Synapse can melt acolytes but none of them can do shit to an archon due to dmg attenuation

Phage is pretty nice too.

Primary Gaze kitgun is also pretty good and fun to use, it feels like using the Acceltra but with more status and ammo

From my personal top 3 only phantasma made an appearance lol, not that I could expect the other 2, they are the beam kitguns Gaze (which works sorta like Ignis, except without infinite body punch through but more dmg and crit to compensate) and Vermisplicer (which works like Amprex, except more range, less HS due to semi-auto-targeting, but creates viral with only one mod to maybe compensate (idk if it's better than the amprex though))

I knew amprex would make the list, knowing you. Once you said 3 other gun names I was like no way he doesn't at least mention it.

Yessss, I love the secret honorable mention. Before steel path it was fine for all content but it is a bit hard unless I'm using Saryn to just kill entire tilesets.

I remember when you used to mostly use the dragon Nikana and amprex waaay back when, it’s great to see you use it again, brings back memories like the LoR and even fusion cores and don’t get me started on how the void was mainly used to get primes

I love my Quanta Vandal, the multi shot with it's secondary is still decent enough for sortie but not for steel path tho unless you have arcanes that focus to boost primary wep dmg. then it's very fun in steelpath.

I have a fantastic riven for buzzlok.....241 base damage....115 reduced recoil and +112 status chance...with -122 impact.....so it strips all the impact....with viral and hunter munition or viral and heat.....this thing is a beast!😮

i think the spectra vandal is also a pretty good beam weapon

The convectrix are really powerful too. But my heart go to the flux rifle. Not the best weapon but it carry me on the star chart and steel path.

My personal issue with Convetrix and Phage us waiting the beam to focus on one spot. Makes them more awkward to use.

Glad to see the appraisal the synapse deserves. Its my go to for almost everything ever since i got it.

If we ever get a special version of the Amprex... Oh boy. Tenet Amprex? Amprex Prime? Not sure if Corpus or Tenno. Either way, it would be awesome

I go to the classic Glacion and just run it with heat and create the cc boomstick. It's fun to watch enemies fall over lol

Synapse is my most used primary glad to see some love. Can't tell you how many time I've had people shit on my synapse in squad chat lol.

I am going to have to say that my favorite is the Quanta Vandal. Granted I am rocking a riven but this thing is beast, it is my most used weapon on my main account and is 3rd or 4th on the other account. Totally overlooked beast these days.

for the synapse you probably want to try to slot a primed shred in to give it a little bit of AoE via punch through. probably replace the bane mod for it.

I like the glaxion vandal since I have a good riven for it melt everything fast.

love the Amprex, got a riven viral + punchthrough, it's amazing for chaining the beam.

Don't sleep on the Quanta Vandal, that one dishes out Electric procs (and death) like few others!

I dunno about that Ignis build, I never had the ignis do that many headshots, and I'm fairly certain it's on the list of weapons that no longer have headshot multi work with them. Also, for the Ignis, I don't think ammo mutation is necessary, at least not without some serious fire rate increase. As for the rest, Phantasma Prime can handle Galvanize Acceleration all right, but it can only do so on the Steel Path and only in non-endless mission. If you take that mod with you in an endless missions you have only yourself to blame. Still not sure about headshot muds, especially on the Amprex. That being said, I kinda agree with this list.

Great list man! I've been trying to decide on which beam primary I wanted to go for. Have all but 1 part of the phantasma prime, but I love using those oldies with the 5/5 dispo.

I was, still am, and will be a simp for IGNis Wraith. I remember having fun with Armprex though, and I'm looking forward to Phantasma P. And I like Glaxion Vandal. It's not the best, but it is fun.

I love the Synapse, I also got a dope riven for it, but I like to run punch through on it because you can hit multiple people with it giving it at least a little bit of clear potential XD. That being said, the Infested is my favorite faction, and I make a point to obtain and use the infested weapons and toys, it's a real shame they did my boy the torrid dirty though, I used to use it years ago when everyone thought it was bad and everyone would be super confused how I could just clear the whole map with it, I came back from a hiatus a year or so later and they changed the damage distributions on it so it is way weaker, not to mention the Galvanized mods do nothing for it, it's probably my most used weapon in all of WF, I still run it from time to time.

Another honorable mention could be the convectrix but it REQUIRES a augment to be usable and you cant get it without buying it from someone

i've seen it on reviews and got it myself, but i dont use it even tho i have 4 formas in it haha i just have it there for the day DE decides to bring the "Efficient Beams" augment back

The synapse is an OG, and is still relevant. And dispo is sweet. (If i get a riven, imma roll the shit out it). So lets pretend it does not exist 😂

Personally I love the ignis and the amprex, I have an amprex build that always yellow crits and gets orange and red occasionally and it’s not even the best build in the game

You use a Arcanes on every weapon. Could you show some current Steel Path farming setups? I think this could help a lot of people.

Just run alot of steel path relic missions, bring a tanky frame like revenant to not die, build any weapon with the mods he has described in these videos, and then bring a railjack crewmate equipped with a hard hitting weapon like a kuva chakur, tenant envoy, or sniper rifle and they can one shot the acolyte for you if your loadout is a bit weak for them. And when all else fails your random squad mates can carry you.

My recommendation is: use octavia on corpus survival (you can unlock it through the daily steel path challenges). If you don't have octavia, use any (preferably Ash) stealth frame equipped with a hunter munition (and internal bleeding for extra procs) + galvanized aptitude + a ton of crit and dmg Fulmin, and a secondary primer (the epithaph is ideal although you can make a sporelacer secondary kitgun with high status chance) with viral + heat and do grineer capture, exterminate or survival (depending on how strong your build is). With this setup you just cycle through your secondary and Fulmin on shot each and everything should die with a couple of slash procs you kill everything (acolytes take a bit more time, ash armour strip and heat procd helps with that) and you'll get the weapon arcanes in no time ;) EDIT: corrected some writing errors

Ah, I thought the Amprex should have its place too. Glad to see it on here. I would be shocked (get it?) if we don't get a Tenet version.

Phantasma prime with critical deceleration, primed ravage and arcane avenger, plus nidus with teeming virulence is enough to make it orange crit pretty consistantly. Even more fun is when you use vigilante mods and get pretty consistant red crits

It's not worth it at all. 2 gun mod slots, a specfic warframe, an augments mod, and an arcane. Not to mention diminishing returns. You're just better off changing damage color.

It can with the main beam, only the aoe at the end of the beam can't. You can clearly see Galv scope gaining stacks during his testing.

The MIGHTY SEER is the best primary beam weapon. I love the synapse and hate how people sleep on it. However the amprex is just too good to pass on imo, glad you mentioned it. It's great but the MIGHTY SEER is stronger

Stop using galv scope, even in ur gameplay you only proc the headshot, just use argon scope, more crit chance.

Sure it's not the best option, but for beam weapons it's still ok-ish. The beam ticks happen so fast that he is getting 2-5 stacks of galvscope fairly consistently when he's getting kills. It was way worse on the explosive weapons video, where he uses Galv aptitude on all of them when it doesn't work on explosions 🤣 Anyway I wouldn't bother much with any build someone tells you to use, just test what works for you and/or what you like and go for it.
