Kept you waiting HUH???? So funny thing: I was very, very close to scrapping this video for a few reasons 1. The whole thing with losing a chunk of my intro anim 2. Styanax being a super simple frame and thus not having much to talk about 3. What little hidden mechanics he *did* have ended up being glitches and being removed by DE (such as being able to cast his other powers in Final Stand). About 3 minutes total were dedicated to these mechanics, and I had to cut all that. Just to give you an idea of how much was cut 4. He's been out for awhile already But I don't really take my content super seriously, so I figured there's no *real* reason not to release it. Y'all have been in a drought again enough as is, so whilst I'm not super happy with this one, I'd rather show you lot anyway lmao Also I just dont like leaving stuff on the cutting room floor if I can avoid it Anyway, im glad I got a video out on the newest frame ... why are you laughing

8:18 No, it's not a bug. The ability hits the cone in front of him, as well as a small sphere around him. It was added to help with melee enemies to prevent them from being missed by being "too close" to the cone and not being hit (which wouldnt make sense at point blank obviously). They added similar things to other conical abilities, like Harrow's Condemn for instance.

The biggest sin of Styanax is not giving us spear melee weapons. I would honestly kill to be able to use spearguns as both guns and melee weapons at the same time, especially so since the channeling melee weapons have is removed. Melee needs a melee button and a block button, ranged needs a shoot button and an aim button, block and aim are default together anyways... it mechanically should work and could add some variety to the weapons in game.

I think the way that could be done is by making a temporary melee copy of the weapon while it's equipped in the primary slot, though you can probably already see issues with that the two I can think of off the top of my head are "if the only weapons you have equipped are speargun primary and speargun melee, wouldn't unequipping the primary leave you weaponless?" and "wouldn't that result in there being 2 holstered weapons on the character model?"

Fun fact about our favorite space spartan Styanax if you slap on aviator(yes that 1 mod everyone forgot existed after zephyr stopped being meta) he becomes basically God due to how little damage he takes since your fourth constantly has you in the air😂

If I remember correctly, the armor-strip shield bash hitting enemies around the player is intended, like Harrow's first ability

I do have to agree that Styanax's aesthetic design reminds me of old warframe. I seem to find that it's somewhat hard to fashion frame newer frames that have more complicated designs, further more I feel like it's getting a bit overwhelmingly metallic on certain frames to the point where their prime variants basically to me look like 80% accent metals (usually gold). Luckily we now are slowly getting more and more voidshell skins which I absolutely adore because of the full control of textures, it is so much easier to fashion frame to your taste.

It's a small note, but the ability description at 6:55 does say that Styanax knocks back enemies within 2.5 meters of himself, seperately from the description and range of the shields. Pretty sure that it hitting enemies behind him, like at 8:10, is the intended effect and a seperate hitbox from the shields. Also pretty sure that hitting enemies while aiming down is a result of the 160 degree verticle spread listed, which means that you should be able to aim almost straight down and still be hitting enemies in front of you, but in practice allows a mid level aim that hits ground and air targets.

The first time i saw a friend use Last Stand, i though DE added a frame with a commandable aerial strike. Like straight up wiped out a few striker aircrafts and started bombing the shit out of everything in sight. It was awe-inspiring.

Your not the only one who forgot about shields being a thing when playing him.

I also initially thought Styanax's passive meant shield as in the Sword and Shield weapon type, only being corrected when I saw the crit boosting Hoplite buff going up with my shields and overshields

weird comparrison, but in magic the gathering theres two kinds of good cards. the "super complicated gonna do 50 things and enable a whole playstile" card, and the "im big, strong, and impossible to kill" kinda card. Styanax seems like the later, very much a return to form basic warframe, but not weak in any sense of the word.

The footage you showed of the Axios Javelin “not working” was because you threw it at an eximus unit that still had overguard. Pretty sure most, if not all, CC abilities don’t work on them. After you shot the overguard off of them the javelin worked like normal.

i also think the curve footage is user error - the spear will target wherever you were aiming at the moment you pressed the button, so my theory is that it'll appear to curve back into that original path if you moved during the animation.

As far as I'm aware Silence is the only CC that works on Eximus units. It simply turns off their auras.

Fun fact: for some reason, Final Stand receives universal weapon buffs like Mirage's Eclipse, Xata's whisper, Vigorous swap and smeeta's orange crit charm. I tried testing with primary,secondary and melee specific arcanes and buffs, but none worked. So yeah,if you feel the need to boost even more his bleed procs, go for it. (All of this was tested before Lua's Prey,tho.)

I know this videos already a year old but I have to say, i couldn't agree more with every point. I'm coming off a 5 year hiatus (new war DElays) and i started shopping around the new frames that were added while i was gone. when I saw Styanax's kit I immediately fell in love. defense strip that just works when I get into the 1k level range, a infinite energy battery for the team with subsumed nourish and more survivable than a frost globe for any kind of defense mission, and solid damage/add clear/OVERGUARD (ngl I don't know what DE was smoking but I love it) with his 4 has made him easily my new main to take into all the new content they've added. Also deluxe skin when, the nipples are killing me.

I always saw those hanging things as straps like he was wearing his armor either loose or tight.

Tharros strike is 180 degrees of your aiming reticle, think of it like having a circle cut in half horizontally and the top half is what it affects in front of Styanax and a key feature I like about it is that strips and heals through walls. Currently using it on Octavia offensively to melt SP.

What did you swap for it? I haven't subsumed anything into her because I think her kit works a bit *too* well.

I'm a styanax main and Rally Point is my friend's favorite ability. She mains Hildryn and it works really well when we play together.

This Styanax Video may not have been everything he wanted but for us(or at least me) a Triburos video is a Triburos video

On base kit i actually prefer negative Duration to not be locked into the 4's animation for long, instead opting for more range for the 1, 2 and 4 too Most of the time however i actually run Parasitic Armor since every kill while it's active gives you overshields because of your 3 and, more importantly, REFRESHES YOUR SHIELD GATING, and even if you don't manage to get a kill in time before the invul ends, you still have around 4K extra armor. I removed his 4 for this but replacing the 1 can work too

Doesn't Parasitic Armor only give armor based on your shield capacity and not overshields

god i hope that with upcoming expansion they finally sit and rework dragon keys (long overdue by DE) and shield gating exploit (that became a standard use in like 80% of builds) will be no more.

@@sajmon154 dragon keys actually make this build worse, since it reduces your max shields, it reduces the armor you get from Parasitic Armor, the shield gate refresh comes from kills rather than abilities and Brief Respite

The homing is wonky because the spear isn't hitscan and its thrown from over his right shoulder, which means its not centered properly, so when close to enemies you literally throw it over their shoulder and the FoV during the throw makes it look like the spear just decided to take a detour.
