The think that always left me afraid is the possibility of the dracthyr, that I think are really great and awesome - design-wise and lore-wise -, being forgotten for here and on. Like the death knights. And the pandaren. And the demon hunters. All those cool additions that end up never or barely receiving some more attention

I feel the bulky Dragon humanoids would be a cool Allied race or juet customization option for the Dracthy, or hell even be connected to how the Drathyr are able to be more classes. Draythyr getting to he the "casters" of the dragon race, where as the bulky dragon race could be the default look for them to be warriors/hunters, and if they wanted, they could totally expand on the idea. Fun little video, I liked the addtion of a co hoste/other cast member in the video. 🙏🔥

@@gadgetboy4717My headcanon is they reproduce like humans if their mate is a human, but their offspring will be another dracthyr. If they reproduce with another dracthyr they get the unfertilized egg situation.

You'll never convince me that these things are cool under any circumstances. Nor will you convince me that Dragonflight was cool or well written.

this explained dragoflight to me more succinctly than anyone else has. I had no real understanding of who the primalists were but it makes more sense now that they were like the non-titan-powered dragons. Just getting back to WoW now after barely playing BFA and Shadowlands (I played but veeeery casually), so feels like I haven't been seriously keeping up since WoD.

they honestly are cool, them being bulky doesnt even make sense, since the flying is such an iconic thing for dragons, people wanted reptile bees

Drakonid should be the Dracthyr's allied race especially after seeing the story of Dracthyr starting zone unfold not to mention all of Dragonflight. Just makes sense to me...also Tuskarr

Finally some positivity, and someone appreciating the dracthyr xD Nice video, man!

Wait... but why would Neltharion need the Dracthyr to mature so fast when dragons already mature super quickly? Whelps mature into drakes at age 5 and Wrathion was pretty much an adult dragon at age 10 in BfA. That is way faster than most mortal races, the only race I could see maturing faster than that are Vulpera that likely reach adulthood in the single digits due to them being small mammals.

I haven't played Dragonflight, so watching your videos is going to be pretty useful i bet!

Okay so what if they did something really crazy, and made dragons ACTUALLY playable? Like they could have a built in "mount" form that is their true Dragon form, and while you're outside you can actually fight in this form, but then you choose what of the already playable races as your Visage. Then they can go and make some draconic customizations for the already established races. It could be harder to do but I think people would've responded better. I had the other idea of instead of Evoker being available for all races just make the Dracthyr able to take any playable race as a Visage, and make the Visages able to be playable in the class mechanics, maybe save for a few special attacks that would require more fine tuning.

They should have made the dracthyr a shapeshifting class just like the druids. But the whole "you can be a dragon" (that fell short, didn't it?) was a major selling point of DF.

I do agree that the dracthyr do need to be more slightly badass "dragon slayer" But I am also grateful that they their base personalities isn't that of the death knights and demon hunters in lore. Also won't feel useless lore wise after dragonflight when the their main reason of existence is completed.

I got a Dracthyr , put em on the Horde , just for i can have a high level character on there faction , the Visage needs a lil work tho . I like the default 1 Blizzard gave us . But would have been cool to be any race in Visage form .. thought the short story is Dracthyr are "Super Solider"

The fact that i dont enjoy them doesnt make them valueless to others. I am glad some people enjoy it. I do however would like more classes to have a support spec/build. *cough* chronomancer mage *cough* Great video btw :)

There was a quest that said Dracthyr do not lay eggs? What do they do then? Live birth? Are they sterile? Are they basically a doomed species? Things like lifespan and whether or not the Dracthyr were/are doomed to die out had always been questions I had been curious about lorewise, but apparently I missed a quest detailing at least one of those questions.

@@SixstenWoW Ahh, okay, thank you. My fault for thinking that Blizzard might have given us more concrete lore. I am the sort that just loves knowing all the small details that Blizzard sadly never gives us. Great video all the same. I love your style, and how you put it all together. Lore videos done well are wonderful, and not the easiest to do since stuff is so spread out through the game and the various books. :)

Since the dragon isles were obscured, it wasn’t possible for the Dracthyr to be involved. However the book does a lot of good work to establish why Deathwing was doing all that work on the chromatic flight when he had already “nailed it” with the Dracthyr

​@@SixstenWoW Obscured? Like Pandaria? Even if that was the case, Deathwing's forces could still have gone there. Why couldn't Deathwing just recreate the Dracthyr again? I appriciate your explanation, but it didn't make anything clear for me :D I mean, you say they explain it in the book, but not how.

@@tamas9554 It was obscured like Pandaria yes, no one was able to get there if they tried (and they were trying for a long time) Deathwing didn't recreate the Dracthyr, and instead focused on the Chromatic Flight, because he viewed the Dracthyr as an "other" that posed too great of a threat to Dragonkind, so all his future creations were full-on DRAGONS instead of a mortal-dragon hybrid.

@@SixstenWoW Well, destroying the other dragons would have kinda been the point in Cataclysm. The Old Gods would have definetly seized an opportunity like that. The fact that they are part-mortal would also make them easier to corrupt. Though I'll be honest, I don't believe there is any credible explanation to the Dracthyr, as they were an obvious retcon. No matter what, their absence from Cataclysm will be kinda nonsensical, especially with Deathwing as their creator :/

Woah there!

The dracthyr lore is fine, but their aesthethics are still lacking for me. When i think of a dragon, the image is of a imposing figure in physical and magical might. Dracthyr look magical alright, but have skinny proportions and are exclusively casters, never using the 2h weapons they carry. I wanted to make a cool buff dragon warrior, flying into the fray with an axe while firebreathing or tearing enemies with mighty draconian claws. Not to shoot glitter rays from the backlines. I'm not saying dracthyr doesn't have their place, they're cool in their own way and there is a public for them, but i wanted more options of dragon fantasy.

This hurts my soul

Shitty class, looks terrible, plays great, having to sacrifice ego for success is rough when you can just play any other class

Plays fantastic in PvE and Dungeons , gets own in PvP . I'll play my lvl cap Alliance Hunter Marksman and everything going well , I'll go on my Horde Dracthyr I get total demolished .. both my Hunter and Drac got the same armor type and gear score . 😕
