Thanks for posting and being thorough. I have the Ridgerunner but was wondering how to incorporate trekking poles and a tarp. Keep up the good work!

Very nice video Papatechie. Love it when someone goes over things in detail and answers most questions in the vid. But, I do have a couple of questions. I have a JRB BMBH. One of the original designs that has the rings on the four corners, which uses a different style spreader bar with a "U" shaped end to lock into the rings. Have been looking for some time on how to use my trekking poles for the spreader bars. The Warbonnet Ridge Runner has a different type aluminum plate with a hole in it for the spreader poles and you showed how the trekking pole adapters could be used with the Mountainsmith Monopode camera staff. It has been a year since the video came out and Mountainsmith has changed the construction of the staff from tension expansion to locking clasps. Two questions; (a) have you been using your trekking poles for the spreader bars and any slippage on those poles and the second, (b) do you know if there is any mods out there, that can go from the ring to the end connectors that will accept the trekking pole adapters? I love my bridge hammock, but kind of heavy and trying to reduce overall weight on my system. I uses a Neo-Air pad in my sleeve for two reasons. One is for insulation value (I do not have an under quilt) and the other is to keep the hammock spread out to eliminate shoulder squeeze. I see your RR is wider on the shoulder side, so maybe no need for a pad to keep things open....less weight - but I would have to utilize an under quilt. You definitely have me reviewing my options. - thanks.

Hmmmm... I'm familiar with JRB and hear it's super comfy but unfortunately never had a chance to check one out. Some potential options could be to change the Orings out to the same adapter pole style as the WBRR if you know a good seamstress because I know they sell those. Also you could check with JRB and hammock forums as someone may have that same question. I know you're trying to use hiking poles but Ruta locura sells $$$ custom ultra light carbon fiber spreaders that you could ask them if they make ones for JRB. Also seems like one could build some sort of universal trekking pole adapter for bridge rings. Sorry not much help just some thoughts.

Great vid, although you'll get hell of a lot more room under the bug net without the spindrift on. I use an Exped scout tarp extreme with mine, so can't tension the bugnet properly as the tarp cuts in, so I attach the net bungee to my ridge line. Love my RR. have had it for several years and love it more every time I use it, which is a lot! Lol Anyway, really enjoyed this vid, great work. Regards Dean Wales, UK

Nice video and very detailed. WBRR now has the spindrift so poles are on the outside. Thanks for all the detail. Got my WBRR on the way. Gonna have to save up for the SD but have a good sized tarp already and looking to upgrade it in the future also. Again Thanks!

Scott Widen Thanks Scott when I ordered and tested Warbonnet asked me what changes so I suggested the poles on the outside along with a Photoshop mock up. They agreed and said some other folks requested it also. I already ordered the new version and it should be in soon so hopefully a video review as well.

Laying in my WBRR on 24 Dec 17 @ Harriman SP in NY, watching your video. It made me smile seeing the zipper in the headend. Great video.

Does it bother anyone else that Warbonnet has a logo of a Native American with a Native American head dress and it's owned by a white man? I bought an underquilt from this company and when I saw the logo I had to send it back and they charged me a 20% restocking fee but I could not stomach the cultural appropriation by this company.
