The mica IR can do about 37 miles and And what do you mean locks the FOV to 1? Do you mean 1 degree? Because the R73 and magic 2 have .75 of a degree in game (though the magic 2 should be .43)

Technically we already get the Python 4 with next update. I‘m talking about the Derby Missile. That’s technically an enlarged version of the Python 4 with an active Radar Seeker. I‘m honestly a bit concerned about the missiles we are getting. Toptier already is an absolute mess and it will only get worse with the introduction of active radar homing missiles. If Gaijin keeps this trend up we might get at some time to the point where they will introduce current gen missiles into the game and then it will only be who sees first will kill first. Imagine you would have to face the MBDA Meteor. A missile with at least the range of the AIM-54 but the difference that it can accelerate in its terminal phase while being more agile than the AMRAAM. Or the AIM-9X. I play DCS, also competitive and that Missile is banned on most PvP Servers for a good reason. There are also mods that introduced the Python 5 and that missile is absolute bonkers, because it can do a 180 and kill a target that flies behind you while being almost 100% immune to flares. The AIM-9M is already too much for my opinion.

Thanks for the video Mat! Again, I think December is a good time to add it. Also, yes the Derby was designed to be a long range, radar guided Python 4. Oh, and Delta V is simply theoretical range. The R77 has more Delta V than the AMRAAM, but to find actual range, you have to factor in the drag coefficient, and use an equation to calculate the actual range. In practice, even though the R77 has more Delta V, the AMRAAM has a significantly less amount of drag, which equals a further range. I don’t think the performance would be crazy game breaking, the close range performance is similar, arguably worse than the R73, and we have to make the jump in flare resistance eventually. We made that jump last year, and everyone has figured out how to flare these missiles, we’ll figure out how to flare this. Again, we already have the dogfight performance in the R73. As I’ve said, probably December

@@Thatrandomguy-fi6qz yes, stuff like the J11A would have a definite way of detecting an IR missile such as the Python 4, and I believe there are some other aircraft that can be upgraded to have a MAW system

With this new data, I really hope to see the modernized Kfir C.10/Block 60; an upgrade made for the Colombian Air Force with Python 4s and Derbys. With the current rank VIII premium jet being “Modernized” rank VII jets (F-20 and MiG-21 Bison) I expect this to be Israel’s premium rank VIII in the future

I think R74 is way too advanced. Like, you thought the P4’s flare resistance was too powerful, the R74 can literally be programmed to ignore NATO caliber flares. I think the R73 would still be very viable and hold its own against the P4, the Magic 2, I’ve heard has the dual IRCCM irl, but I can’t find any source proving it. They could add either a really late version of the Aim9M, like the 9M-8 or 9M-10, which I believe get a better seeker and have 40Gs of pull, or they could add a very early version of the 9X, because it has a much more advanced seeker like the R74. They could buff the AAM3 to be historically accurate, and that would hold its own, and I don’t know much about the IRIS T, but it was around the same timeframe so that would work. And before you guys yell at me that the R73 is way worse than the Python 4, the P4 was the irl counterpart to the R73, and it was a close matchup, if you don’t believe me that they’re a close matchup in game, search “R73 vs Python 4” on YT, you might have to specify WT.

Maybe I’m dumb, but in the eye of a IR missile a flare is just a massive splotch of heat that hides the aircraft’s heat signature and distract the missile. How would the missile be able to discern what heat signature belongs to which nation.

I don’t think the 9X, r74’s and python 4’s needs to be added any time soon. In fact it would just ruin air rb. The 9X is way above the puthon 4 in terms og capability, with its trust vectorin. The python 4 has more range yes, but the 9x is unflareable really and has thrust vectorin and full lockon after launch capabilities with full 180 degree launch parameters. And the iris-t is that and just better.

@@-..----.--.-... Thats actually a misunderstanding of flare mechanics. Soviet flares fire up and nato flares fire down. A 9X was flared by an Su22 about 6 years ago from a high rear aspect meaning the flares filled the seeker. the su22 pilot was in a dive heading for a bomb run while going defensive, avoiding the 9x and dying to an aim120 that came off the rail a few seconds after. the "characteristics" are identical its a ball of fire.

According to DCS, Py4 is a 360 death stick.

I would rather believe DCS over Warthunder any day of the YEARRRRRRRRRR DCS actually uses Real world Data as much as possible to make every aircraft model and missiles and radar and sensors to be as close to real life as much as Possible its so realistic with all the models that the USAF uses it to train pilots because its much cheaper than to fly a jet and it possibly crashing killing the pilot or just crashing and losing 70 million dollars so yea if the military uses DCS I would believe DCS over Warthunder any day Warthunder says it does the same thing like DCS but they dont because Gameplay and tactics are MUCHHH more different than Warthunder Warthunder cant even model tanks right they make T80's over perform acting like they have the Best armor in the world when their armor is simple Textolite mixed with rolled Steel it performs really good against modern sabots but composite armor on the Challenger Leopard and Abrams is extremely weak Then we got Mig-29 vs F16 IRL or DCS the F16 would win every time in a BVR or WVR combat same for F15 vs Su-27 because Nato Aircraft have good access to Tech Russians dont but Warthunder is a Russian Company so we know then you got the KA-50/52 able to shoot down Mach 1 fighter jets helicopters and tanks with its ATGM missiles which is extremely unrealistic then if you try that with the AH-64 Hellfires if the enemy helicopter moves just a little the Hellfire will completely miss but the Russian Vikhr ATGM will hit everytime VERY unrealistic then they wont add fire and forget Hellfires when WE NEED IT REALLY REALLY BAD the AH-64 is Super bad in ground RB because you will almost always die to a SPAA or KA50 because you have to sit still and maintain laser guidance and the M1a2 Sep v2 should have M829A3 or M829A4 because the M829A4 came out in 2015 the 3bm60 came out in 2016 so we should have M829A4 sabot because all the rounds are the same they can be used in all Abram models this is how unrealistic unbalanced Russian BIASED Warthunder really is Warthunder KNOWS the abrams has better lower glacis plate armor THEY KNOW IT DOES because if you Xray the abrams lower plate you can see that their is a BIG gap between the composite layer and the back Steel plate and the armor isnt just made out of DU its made with layers of Steel, Depleted Uranium and Ceramics the m1a2 and up versions should have Gen 2 armor packages but it dont in warthunder and the Leopard 2a6 2a7 Should be nearly impossible to pen its front armor but in warthunder You can easily do it and the ballistic computers in the abrams and leopard aren't implemented the stabilizers in the Leopard and Abrams are also not correct when the stab is on the turret and barrel should stay in the one spot you aimed it at even while turning and moving we should also have the ability to fire on the move using ballistic computer but we cant because Russian dont got one that is as accurate as the one the Abrams and Leopard has and another unrealistic thing about warthunder are the bombers such as B17 B25 they can tank 20mm HE shells because you can watch a YT video RN search up Luftwaffe Gun Camera: B-17 Attacked that B17 took a TONNNNNNNN of damage from that 20mm it had and the bomber was still flying at if nothing was wrong but in Warthunder you even get hit by 1 HE shell in the wing or the tail and your wing will break off or your tail will fall off Warthunder is MEGA unrealistic and they say they model tanks jets and helicopters to be perfect YEAH RIGHT LMFAO ! @@user-dv5qx5kv2o While some stuff is decent in DCS the modeling for Radars and signatures as well as guidance are not modeled well at all. Also the USAF... let alone any air wing in the US military does not use DCS to train pilots. I have worked with a number of airforce and naval airmen and all of them used solutions from FAAC. Not fucking DCS. There are plenty of videos of the Airforce trainers and they are all showing FAAC including for the f35.

I believe it can hit 60-70 Gs when dual plane, but I don’t think that it forces dual plane turning, and I don’t think Gaijin even codes the extra pull, do we’re outta luck. Whatever, 50gs is still incredibly good

@@Soldo66666 it's easy to doge. The IRCCM is similar to the R73. It's flarable from a distance. Afterburner off turn while flaring. Not to mention pre flare works too.

But at some point python 5 will be added. What other nations will get to compete with it?

Well, Python 5 was the counterpart to the Aim9X, the R73M, and stuff like the IRIS T Alma Would be competitive. I wouldn’t expect to see Python 5 anytime soon though, it’s basically impossible to flare, because it uses datalink to get updates on we’re the target is, and it’s seeker is incredibly modern

It would be interesting to see that crop duster the US made into a light ground attack aircraft as a premium, I'd buy it just for fun lmao

@@Vengeance4308ground targets don't even render in until 25km, so that 40km is useless until you're 25km away from the battlefield. And the solution to the su-25 is spawning in a fighter and shooting it down.

No. The PUMA that we have is the most basic version of the tank. The PUMA S1 is the variant that carries spikes. If the PUMA S1 were to be released this upcoming update, Gaijin would for sure show it off in the dev servers to create hype for Germany players. Honestly, this update is a slap in the face for German players. All we get is a premium tank, and a flying barn at 12.7 while nearly every other nation gets an upgrade to their already competitive line up of top tier vehicles.

Bruh map design and gameplay doesn’t call for this stuff it’ll break the game. The way the game is played right now it will just be to ridiculous. Yea Id like to see them but we have bigger issues the game needs to get addressed

The ΔV doesn't say anything about the range/energy of a missile. For example: The R60 has a ΔV of 744.46 m/s and the R24R has a ΔV of 734,54, but obviosly the R24 has much more range/enegry compared to the R60. The AIM-9C (radar guided sidewinder) has almost the same ΔV as an R27R. So pls stop only looking at ΔV, it says NOTHING about a missiles range/energy.

they have technologies on par with aim9x, without having thrust vectoring, aam-3s should be way better in game but obviously for balancing reasons they only gave it a fraction of its power, so as of now its still arguably the best ir missile in game, having a very noticeable increase in range and sometimes pull over the aim9m

It’d have to be a super early Aim9X model. The Aim9X has a significantly better seeker than the Python 4, and if you thought the Python 4’s flare resistance was crazy, the Aim9X is way better. The Aim9X is on par with the Python 5

And I’d like to see the current AAM3 pull a 360 and hit the target, or miss and turn around to hit the target. The Python 4 was the irl counterpart to the R73, so that would be fine. They could buff the AAM3, add a late Aim9M model (9M-8 or 9M-10) or a very early Aim9X model, add the MICA IR, and the IRIS T, I don’t know much about the PL-9, but it’s in the files too, so it can’t be that game breaking. Overall, I think this December would be a good time to add better IR missiles, but they could go with October like last year. We could also see the Typhoon and such in December or early/mid 2025

Yeah, we definitely need a counter to python 4, so noone gonna be struggling. We need to implement fox 3 to everyone at once. Meanwhile ussr: 95ya6 9k121 Kh-38 ml Kh-38 mt R-73 (dont tell me Aim-9m is equal in case of ircc and perfomance) R-27 et R-27 er No sh#t. Just add it and let a minor nation, wich still doesnt even have top-tier spaa, get something outstandingly good.

I honestly don’t really have an issue with the R-73 since most other planes outperform R-73 carriers in flight performance. Not to mention it’s IRCCM is kinda easy to spoof after the Defyn video. The ET is kinda good but I’ve been killed by it MAYBE twice since it’s been added, it’s really easy to flare from longer distances. The ER is going to lose its throne to the amraam next update, so at this point I don’t care. Everything else, sure I guess

Lol it’s close in dogfight performance to the R73 anyways, yeah it has more range and better flare resistance, but when they added the Python 3 a year ago, pretty much no one noticed, because the Israel player base is, as stated, very small. It wouldn’t be as game breaking as the R73 was, because the amount of players using it is like 1%.
