1950s underground vocal group Todd And The Tunnel Snakes were ready for the fallout following the release of War Never Changes. Instead, this cover of the early pop classic from legendary duo Tim & Leonard only bolstered their mainstream appeal. When asked about the secret to their winning formula, Todd simply said, “It just works.”
However, the release of the song was not without controversy. Tim & Leonard fans - already reeling from the duo’s tragic demise in a freak chocolatiering accident - worried the original spirit of the song had been lost. In order to quell those fears and honor their lost heroes, Todd And The Tunnel Snakes requested the 2nd printing of the record include new cover art, depicting the duo who had inspired them and so many fans around the world.
