Devastating fun-fact! Those hooting sounds Maurice makes right at the end are a real kind of orangutan vocalization, done both in mourning and as a way to alert other orangutans to a death. So not only is Maurice basically weeping after holding it together for Caesar's last moments, he's also getting the word out to everyone else.

Poor choice of words. More like Trivia
There is a deleted scene in which the colonel tells ceasar that he once encountered a man that said he knew ceasar, and he begged the coronel to not kill ceasar. Caesar then says "what happened to him", and the coronel says "i killed him". That man is of course Malcolm.

At the end of Dawn, the writers wanted to leave a small crack of chance open that Koba may have survived his fall in case they wanted to bring him back. However, it was decide that with how complex War’s plot is because of him, he served his purpose for the sequel and remained dead!!! Fun fact: Red donkey is played by Ty Olson. He previously appeared in Rise where he played the helicopter pilot that shot at Buck, the gorilla that sacrificed himself for Caesar by taking down the chopper. How ironic that he first killed a gorilla only to become one. He became the very thing he swore to destroy!!!
She didn't cry as much this movie like I thought she would. Great Job LOL
@Silvere1
Ай бұрын
Thank God!!! The crying was killing me! Lol
Is it weird that I came here to watch Kristen cry? 😅 I ended up crying😭
I think what you kind of missed was that it took an additional 'exposure' event to trigger the degradation. (The blood from the nose-The doll) Harrison said "A theory our doctor had before he also lost the ability to speak was that the virus changed" or something to that effect, The Alpha-Omega chant the army does is to also root out anyone who got exposed to the newest form of the infection. So it's pretty well thought out, our brains are theorized to be at their peak for intellect and size but any further changes would actually dumb us down so the science almost lines up. Koba or not humanity would still seek out apes to kill for utmost assurance of our species' survival, at the end notice how Harrison is right in them fearing the apes more. That faceless soldier raised his rifle just before the avalanche started. Caesar's life is a tragedy fitting for his name, I can't wait to see what kind of story kingdom will have. Edit: okay so you two did catch the doll and additional exposure I feel less like a butt lol
The moment donkey saves, Ceasar and sacrifices himself still always hits so hard. So much nuance in the performance, you see regret for the choices he has made, the introspection in his face, the remorse that he feels, and finally his redemption. He knows he can never be forgiven for being a traitor, and he is resigned to his fate with one last good deed..
Kristen's fresh out of water on every thumbnail in this series 😂
Kristie: "If they can have apes on their side, why we can't have humans in our side?" lol
30 seconds in and we get a Gem. “Duck a prick Koba “ 😂😂😂😂
I was surprised that Kristen didn’t cry throughout the whole movie
Hi, thankyou for completing this trilogy. Rise, Dawn and War are MASTERPIECES to me and i adore Caesar. Andy Serkis is a legend in motion capture work and highly underrated. I hope you’ve both stocked up well on tissues? as it’s gonna get messy snot wise anyway. This is the only movie i have ever left the cinema crying for a character and even though i try to watch this trilogy every two weeks or so what happens with Caesar still hits like a sledgehammer. I’m so excited for Kingdom of the planet of the apes which is the new one to hit cinemas on the 10th may. I already have favourite apes in it. Noa who is a descendant of Caesar because this film takes place 300 years after War and Raka the Orangutan . Kingdom is gonna be epic. It is a great conclusion to a great trilogy. The second film is the best but all three are very good. It is rare for a remake/reimagining to be better than the original

War is really about a War within Caesar. So many people didn’t like this part of the trilogy because it wasn’t a full war story like the beginning of the movie. Caesar is one of the best fictional characters of all time.
This movie always makes me fucking sad because Ceaser and the apes are never left alone but I am glad they are still continuing the franchise with Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes despite Matt Reeves not directing the franchise again after the trilogy.
Maybe it's just me but Maurice made the series for me. I got attached quickly. Then when he adopted Nova I feel like Maurice has someone now that Cesar is gone. I would like to see how Nova grows with Maurice as her teacher.
Imagine how they reacted the scene that revealed Malcolm’s fate was in this reaction
25:40 thats the whole K.G.F movie right there xd
Fun fact this movie war of the planet of the apes is also a remake of battle of the planet of the apes but it’s also based on the story of exodus from the Bible.
46:00 OK, your next reaction assignment is "Natural Born Killers" I was skeptical of Woody in such a role, at that point he was just "Woody" from "Cheers," but you will understand why, every now and then, they cast him as a someone scary...
I swear EVERYONE forgets that Maurice spoke in the second movie.
27:46 I don't think it's ever outright stated, but it is implied (due to how they speak, and the fact that most who can don't do so very often), that the apes struggle with speech, probably due to their throat/lip/tooth structure meaning they have a hard time making certain sounds, and have to force others, hence why even the ones who can speak generally prefer to sign. Caesar is something of an exception because he spent a lot of time around his human family, and has had his intelligence the longest, and therefore has not only had more time and experience to adjust, but as a leader he has likely made a concerted effort to get good at speaking so that he can teach it more easily by example, as he is definitely aware that being able to communicate without using your hands is incredibly useful. Koba and Bad Ape are the other two main exceptions, due to both having spent a lot of time around humans (and Bad Ape not knowing sign language).
Rocket definitely know how ceaser feel because koba killed his son ash 😔😔😔😔
45:05 The main ape in the original is named Cornelius, so maybe THAT has some foresight to the next film.
@eesaylor
28 күн бұрын
Maybe, but from what I know, the main ape in the 4th movie is named Noah. My guess is Cornelius is basically a "Biblical name" now (like Adam, David, Jacob, etc) to where descendants can have that name without Ceasar's son being THE Cornelius.
@CryosisOfficial

New movie is set 300 years after this movie, so no returning characters.
You guys should watch *Planet of the Apes (1968),* as it can be considered to be kinda in continuity with these films. In *Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011)* there is mention of the space ship Icarus launching (and disappearing) during the events of the film, and that directly plays into the original movie. The others definitely don't fit, but they present an interesting alternate take on the continuity. Please watch the original. Please.
The names Cesar and Nova come from an old version on the planet of the aps with Charlton Heston.
I absolutely live for Rocket and Maurices character arc
They did notice at 44:42 because they heard Maurice and slowly stopped before rushing over. Edit: You should watch the trailers for Kingdom of the Planet of the apes too
Him killing novas father wasn't a mistake. He literally pulled a gun on Maurice and the crew unprovoked. He had to do it.
Man, this was such a tough watch, Caesar was amazing.
Fun fact: The orangutan who got whipped and shot was one of the members of Caesars council, which is why Caesar quickly defended him, ofc he’d defend them all but just a quick fact I found interesting.
Jadd J.A.D.D. Jadd Give Andy Serkis the Oscar already. Kristen, I'm sending you hugs your way. This movie is great but difficult to watch.
Is that mehndi on Kristen's hand?
Michael, watch Rush Hour 3 with Hayley. That trilogy needs to complete too.
Highly recommend Kristen reacts to Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, that movie does Caeser's Legacy proud.
Matt Reeves should bring Michael Seresin to for the sequel of THE BATMAN His cinematography is simply breathtaking
Loved your reaction as always. You should watch society of the snow. It's a great movie and I would love to hear what you have to say about that one. If you do watch it I recommend the original language with subtitles, the acting was amazing
It is sad that ceaser died in this one he didnt want war he just wanted peace and happiness 😔 Hyped for the next one tho🔥🤘🏾
So what I’ve learned from watching clips of everyone’s theories of how much time went by I think that thousands of years went by Cornelius was definitely leader at one point and they continued to live on his father‘s Legacy, but there was still that other side of the ape population that twisted Caesars beliefs, and what he stood for and that’s what’s in the next movie but I think Noah, who is the new character that’s kind of living off of Caesars morals is a generational like son I guess and if you notice he has the same colored eyes as the rest of that generational family so he must’ve or that bloodline must’ve been passed down from generation to generation to generation. God only knows whose son is Noah. So I think in the next movie we kind of learn what Caesars Legacy continue to be, and how some of the apes turned into something evil but there’s that small percentage that kept it the same if that makes sense but I think piecing together the timeline that’s what happened or that’s what’s going to happen and it’s the final war of the apes that still follow Caesars Legacy versus the one who twisted Caesars Legacy to make it something more malicious and it’s the fight between the truth and the twisted version of the truth
I recommend the movie Kolpacino, which is a Turkish production. It consists of 4 parts. You may not understand the humor and jokes in the movie.
On scene 5:46 That’s Blue Eyes’s wife Lake and Caesar’s daughter in law.
this is like cruel and unusual for poor kristen but then also hilarious and sweet how it constantly crushes her : p
Oh, this is gonna be a sad one😢
I’ve been waiting for this though
If you haven’t seen the trailers, this is the next one. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes takes place 300 years after War, and focuses on a new ape called Noa. Apes have fully dominated and humans are more feral and primitive. The villain is an ape called king Proximus Caesar, who is armed with weapons forged from lost human technologies, and perverts Caesar's teachings to enslave other apes and hunt humans.
such a perfect trilogy, I hope the new one doesn't disappoint
A perfect trilogy, everyone
Love you're hand tattoo, stunning...We are scared of what we dont understand..Im glad the human's died..Apes together strong lol..
I think the 4th film jumps 1,000 years into the future. Correct me if I’m wrong. 😊
So far, it's been the Planet of the Apes trilogy. With the new movie coming out now, it's the Cecar trilogy. I think unfortunately the upcoming trilogy will have a human as the main character. The woman who is the only one in the new trailer who wears modern clothes. The rest of the people wear primitive clothes. Either this is a mistake or the woman is connected to the astronauts from the first film of the Cecar trilogy. In the first part, austronauts were sent on a space mission (a link to the original films). Since it is not supposed to be about time travel, the only other explanation would be that these astronauts have landed on an alien planet and the woman is a descendant of these astronauts. Over several generations, as the time leap is probably over 100 years. If you see Woody as the comic character, you haven't seen too much of him. He's not just playing an ahole here. I would recommend the series True Detectives. Woody is anything but funny there.
I have a new appreciation for this trilogy. Thank you, Kristen! Hope you're okay.

Notice Nova lost her speech but she still retained higher brain function how else did she learn/understand sign. Nova's caretaker (dad?) was still able to talk and presumable he was around her when she was sick. She wasnt really affected by his death but neither here nor there. So taking this information, it's why when the colonel ops to have ceasar kill him it's bc he realized he still had his higher brain function and he had killed his son in vain. He just couldn't verbally speak.
