CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Wesley (James McAvoy) discovers that Cross (Thomas Kretschmann) is his father after he shoots him, then Fox (Angelina Jolie) tries to kill Wesley.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Night Watch director Timur Bekmambetov helms his first English-language feature film with this big-screen adaptation of Mark Millar's action-packed graphic novel. Wesley Gibson (James McAvoy) is a cube-dwelling hypochondriac whose uneventful life has become a mundane blur of terminal boredom. Repeatedly humiliated by his boss and constantly cuckolded by his cheating girlfriend, weakling Wes seems to be living right down to everyone's expectations that he would never amount to anything in life. However, upon discovering that the father he never knew has been brutally murdered, the spineless, clock-punching pushover is recruited into a secret society of assassins known as the Fraternity. During the course of his training, the man who was once an office-bound wimp develops lightning-fast reflexes and superhuman dexterity courtesy of his skilled mentor Fox (Angelina Jolie). Upon completing his training, Wes is assigned the task of dealing out death to the mythological Fates, who possess the ability to alter the lifelines of mortal men. It isn't long before the nebbish nerd-turned-agile assassin is erasing the bad guys with surprising efficiency, yet as Wes begins to carry the mantle passed down to him by his father, he gradually begins to suspect that his wise tutors are not the crime-fighting enforcers they present themselves to be. Now, with everything he ever wanted in life finally within his grasp, Wes is about to find out that the only thing more difficult than ending the lives of others is summoning the courage to take control of his own.

Wanna know why Cross died? He WANTED to. Seriously, he wanted his own son to kill him. That's why he never shouted "I'm your father!" and acted like the enemy, so Wesley's epiphany was powerful enough to eliminate the entire Fraternity because his father knew, the odds were against him.

not so sure about that. Had he told Wesley, and Wesley asked the fraternity,he would have been killed. I think his plan was to just kill any fraternity members that came near his son. Just to deliver a message for them to stay away from him.

The nurses including my cousin (for some godforsaken reason) pleaded with them to see sense &assured them they'd suffer internal hemorrhaging etc then die.. they were barely conscious but still adamant they wouldn't let a "black man" treat them.. That's what blind hatred does to u.. poisons your mind &destroys every ounce of reason &sense u have.

Seth Hutchinson yeah, besides it's super villains that rule the planet in the comic book instead of Assassins that can curve bullets. For the movie version they just gave every member of the Fraternity versions of Wesley's power that he had in the comic. I mean there's a villain called Shithead that's made entirely out of the shit of 666 of the most evil people to ever live on the Earth. Wesley kills him by dousing him with bleach and flushing them down the toilet. The main antagonist in the comic is Mr rictus, he's a Joker/Red Skull analog of a villain.

Is nobody gonna talk about how the father's death wasn't long? Sure it was the twist reveal but unlike most, after the reveal there wasn't anything else, just the death and I think that just makes it a good death, as with that silence even for just a bit lets you sink in, that the guy just messed up, but at the same time the dad was stupid as hell for not being able to yell out three freaking words "I'm your father!"
