What should you spend your time practicing to improve on the guitar? In this video, I'll answer that question by sharing the best practice routine for getting better at finding the key of a song, identifying the chords of a song, improvising guitar solos, playing between chords with riffs & licks, and playing in different keys. I'll also show you a few of my favorite exercises for improving your sense of rhythm and feel on the guitar.
If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments. Thanks for watching!

Andrew, you’re such a great teacher. I ran into your channel on YT recently and you’ve been the teacher I’ve been subconsciously searching for all these years. Such a great way of teaching stuff and the way you breakdown each step can’t be anymore apt. I’m so thankful for all the work you do and can’t wait to continue growing. Let me know how I can support cos you deserve it

You r the bast teacher i ever seen All my teachers i had wasn’t even close to you Im grateful * You didn't touch the guitar for the entire video😂
Andrew, I've been binging on your videos and trying to build a routine out of it, pretty unsuccessfully at that, and here you are putting it all together in a separate video. Thank you.

Refering to the videos is such a gamechanger. O lot of times youtubers have an insane amount of videos and most of the time multiple on the same topic. Thanks a lot!

Awesome practice routine and bringing all the different elements together (taught in the individual videos referenced in this video). Further great video library to refer back to if getting stuck in any of the practice elements! Many thanks Andrew!🙌🙏
Thank you so much you really made guitar a lot simpler for me. The way you teach theory some how made a clicked inside my brain. Thank you so much. Much love from Thailand. 🎉

This video is absolute gold. I've been playing around with Moises lately but might have to give Transcribe+ a try. It would be really awesome to see a list of some of your favorite songs to do this with. Thanks!
Thank you for this video! I’m trying to keep the motivation to play something at my workplace in a few months, so the last one being trying to play with other musicians and in front of people hyped me up even more! Thank you for your videos! Very inspiring :)

It's only for IOs the App?
I had started practicing pretty much like this after watching your previous videos, except forgot to connect chords with licks because got distracted and started practicing singing while playing instead. :D Lewis Capaldi, coincidentally. Pop is a good place to start, like you said. Tried something else first, didn't work - yet. :) I'd be really curious to see a video about the caged-system, you mentioned in an earlier video you might make one, so fingers crossed!

Singing while playing is actually another topic I want to cover at some point! And the plan is to do a CAGED video soon. I just want to make sure that I do the topic justice. :)

That's awesome! I figured you'd have something to say about the singing thing (it's surprisingly hard, I noticed). :) And no rush with anything, we'll be here!
How about listening to Carlos y Jose? Los Tigres Del Norte?
A quick off topic question, when playing A major shape bar chords with your index and pinky like you do, do you mute the high e string? And shouldn’t I use my ring finger instead so my pinky is free to play? thanks
im a big fan of your videos but i feel kinda overwhelmed with the shear amount of information you have in your channel, so in what order do you recommend watching your videos as a beginner? Keep up the good work!

Hey thanks! Totally understandable. There's a lot of stuff. And much of it is more designated for intermediate players. I'm going to put together a little playlist that puts everything in order for you which should help. I'll be sure to make a community post on KZread when it's up. :)
In your bio, you mention you played worship music. If you don’t mind me asking, are you still in the faith?
Could we see you in church 😅

John Mayer songs are NOT simple lol
@andrewclarkeguitar

True. If you're playing all the guitar parts they're not. But the song structure is usually pretty simple. It's part of what makes his songs so great.
