I basically can’t do an apprenticeship, I have a family and can’t just cut my income. The best I could hope for is a part time apprenticeship that takes more time. I’m a decent artist, and the tattoos I’ve done to myself actually turned out well. Although not without my mistakes. Each one has taught me something new. It would be a dream job to do this for a living. Wish I hadn’t wasted my life going to school or putting on work boots every morning.

Did you start the course? I have a disability and can’t manage the hours of an apprenticeship

@@Beeppoop no I just tattoo myself. I spent a lot of time learning from you tubes. Honestly apprenticeships are becoming outdated. Best thing to do is just draw and tattoo. Either fake skin or yourself. Once you get comfortable with that then start on other people.

what my question is, and I haven't heard anyone ever ask this surprisingly, can the course be used as hours, some states require different qualifications before getting licensed to tattoo in that state, like for instance my state requires about 1k hrs working with a licensed tattoo artist. If the course can't be used than besides the knowledge and growth , anyone have anything to say about it?

@@chefkenburnem211 nah man I have no idea, my state requires nothing to be a tattoo artist. The only person required to have a license is the shops owner.

Great video! Getting a job at shop even after such awesome course is not easy cause most of the shops ask for min 2years studio experience. Which sucks! Question- How does it all look from licence point of view? Especially when working at other shops/ or guest spots? Vid about this would be perfect 🙏🏼

I hear you, my state requires 1k hrs apprenticeship under licensed tattoo artist, than a certificate of completion in a course covering prevention of spreading blood born pathogens, then a CPR certified from red Cross or anywhere doing so. It makes it very difficult, a lot of people I know moved out of state for the single reason of not having to go through all that to get licensed. I agree with the certificates but 1k hrs apprenticeship is crazy

@@chefkenburnem211 omg! That’s crazy! I can understand the experience part- I wish it was easier to get it though. It’s either having friends in industry or luck with finding a solid shop that will actually teach you anything. Online courses open the opportunity to learn a lot but the same time the tattoo industry almost rejects self-learners. It’s almost like hamster wheel. Good luck to you! 💪🏻
