I trained Muay thai When i was 14-16. Once when sparring a dude twice my age and weight, he gave me a roundkick to the head so bad that i threw up on the bus home. I used to kick people on the thigh cause it don't hurt as bad, people used to kick me on the side of the knee. Hard too. We were suppossed to simulate knees to the chest, i did to others, however i recieved several hard knees straight to the chest that knocked the wind outta me. A fun sport and a great way to stay in shape got ruined for me when 90 kg dudes constantly tried to boost their egos by beating the shit out of a 50 kg kid. I totally see what made Wanderlei mad. There's no reason to throw head kicks that connects in sparring.

Gwyn's Last Knight No, not a pro fighter or fighter. A long time martial arts practitioner yes. At least from my years on the mat you go with the flow when it comes to intensity of training endless your instructor says we're going 50%, %70 and so on. So you have a point. But at the same time I've been I. And seen countless occasion when your training partner pulls some shit, spazzing out with some move when your only going 50% and then it's on. Been slammed on my head when a white belt passed on me and sh*t went down to say the least. And like Vanderli has a name and it looks like he was disrespected and wanted to show him what will happen when you pull that at 50%. Any high level trainer or someone with a name has put me in check to let me know my lane. What about your training? You've must have seen it where you train? Or been involved at one point I'm sure. Seems like a good given at gyms when you train for x amount of years

Dylan Caldwell The places I trained people are above that shit. Some of my coaches said they'd do it yes, but for the most part people are above it like me. Apparently there's some unholy problem with just saying "Hey, that's too far" or something, so instead it turns into a pissing contest. It's honestly stupid IMO. Nothing you can't get across with words.

Gwyn's Last Knight True as should be with discipline in training. As learned through Martial Arts or supposed to at least. But than again some Martial Arts gyms are fight gyms as well. It all depends like you said in the school and especially the Instructors. Most if not all schools the good ones have enforcers. At least in my experience so if someone comes in and starts sandbagging students or gets a little crazy when it's time to switch they get paired with said enforcer which Job is to enforce the Humbling. But than again, if you're training with a REAL fighter especially someone as intense as Vaderli there's always a switch there that's hard to turn off

Both are going harder and harder by time in this Sparring. Like me and my Brothers did, in old good Kids days´:) LOL W.Silva, in my opinion, escalated the Situation a little bit more. W.S. break the "Rules of mediumhard Sparring", with hardnes and M.Costa with to big speed variations. If your Sparring is mediumhard, you need self control and discipline. But if your Sparring is hard, you need a Coach controlling this too! After W.S. got the top position in G&P, he show "bad" agression and lost of Control for a moment. I am happy, my older Brothers did not lost the Control when we are going to fight in the old days. If your Sparring is light, take time and look playing Animal Kids first. So you know to be aware of good Sparring! Peace

They are doing kickboxing sparing and he decides to turn it into MMA. He is simply one of those people you do not spar with. The boxing clubs I was with over the years never allowed people to come in off the street and spar you had to earn the right and that meant training with the club over a period of time so they could gauge your suitability for sparing. All it takes is one lunatic to go to far in sparring.

Watch it again. Wanderlei escalated the intensity many times in the sparring session, so his partner did it too. Like Wanderlei not letting go of the leg early on, so his partner decided to take down Wanderlie right back. Wanderlei's training partner got 3 or 4 leg kicks all back to back on Wanderle's left leg, so Wanderlei hit him hard with a punch that knocked him down. Wanderei basically escalated, the other guy basically just returned whatever Wanderlei did.

white dominance all day greatest race on earth Things like axe kicks, spinning moves and elbows come with a high chance of injuring or cutting your training partner especially since they're not wearing headgear. Also if a guy is preparing for a fight and gets caught with one of these moves and gets knocked out or even cut he'll get pulled from the fight.

+aR WarrioR x No. A hard right hand with 16 Oz gloves is nothing. The other guy threw an axe kick that landed on his forehead. He probably saw the camera and was trying to make a name for himself. I hate sparring guys like this, if you get a cut in sparring and have to withdraw from a fight, that's money out of the pocket, food off the table.

+Ivan Tapia No matter how hard somebody throws the right hand, your not going to get cut with 16oz gloves. It's very easy to get cut when you start throwing heels at each other face. This is my point.

Well, Idk if Costa crossed the line when throwing that kick, maybe he did but anyways, I think its pretty bull to charge someone like that in sparring only because your partner did something questionable, ESPECIALLY if you are the heavier guy. Fine, if someone throws a hard technique at you and you need to put your foot down, throw something hard back at him then, but to use your weight advantage to overwhelm your partner is just fucked up, and Im guessing it was a stand up sparring session so its even more fucked up to follow up with ground and pound if you are training striking only because you are pissed.

Don't understand why Vanderlei chased and hit the guy so hard, his sparring partner was going technical and respectful, he land a couple of good shoots and Silva's ego was touched, very bad example from a champion like him, he did not have to show anything, everybody knows he is way stronger than his partner, it is a sparring session, so you must accept to be hit sometimes. even if you are Vanderlei Silva..
