Dear, wanderlei, i love what you are doing and its about time someone came out and made these statements. Dana is attacking Aldo because Aldo came out and said the reebok deal is ridiculous and he lost a lot of sponsors and money , which is true. How can Dana do this to Aldo when what Aldo said was true ? Try taking 80% of Dana's pay and see how he feels about that ? The fighters are the ones doing the promos, media, training, bleeding, crying, sweating and dealing with injuries, their personal problems and their families while the promoters are the ones raking in all the profits. PPVs and tickets to attend the UFC aren't cheap and yet the fans take out their hard earned money to support their favorite fighters but what is the point when only a small percentage goes to them ? The promoters are the ones filling their pockets while taking advantage of the fighters. Look at previous p4p material champion who are struggling now ( GSP , Anderson Silva, Jon Jones) , you think the UFC gives a shit about them ? how much money do you think those 3 alone have made for them ? I hope 2 things happen :- 1.) a fighter's union is created and approved by all atheltic and state commissions. 2.) Rival competitors like bellator , WSOF becomes stronger and get all the good fighters and treat them as they should be treated .

bitchezzish Anderson said the same thing about the Reebok deal and things went this way for him. Is good to see that there are fans who are actually able to see in between the lines. They are just trying to hard to put pressure on Aldo to get this Irish guy to be the new champion. The Mendes vs McGregor fight looked waaay too suspect. I would not be surprised at all that it was a fixed fight to end up in the second round. Money became the new God, period.

rodolfo mondragon what a ridiculous thing to say. Mendes landed shots that would have knocked out quite a few fighters. Any of you guys saying it was fixed need to go take an elbow to the face. Mendes was gassed from precision kicks in the stand up. He's not a guy who would sell out. I agree that Aldo should have been given more respect and support, but that's no reason to slander a guy like Mendes with ridiculous claims. Coming from Silva? The guy who's been banned for life for dodging a drug test?

Jose has the best revenge opportunity right in front of him. All he has to do is destroy the UFC's new cash cow. If I'm Jose I heal up, train like a madman, and take out my frustration in the octagon. I'd do whatever it takes to beat McGregor in the most embarrassing way possible. And then I walk away as the greatest fighter of all time. I'd have nothing else to prove. Best of all, I will no longer have to work for a guy I hate.

McGregor dispatched Mendez in a way Aldo could'nt. I'm not saying he cant win , but I will say I'd not bet on him winning. McGregor just has too much advantage in athleticism, power, reach, chin and kicks. Not to mention style of fighting. Every fight the haters keep coming up with new excuses because their last excuse just got laid on their back. Whatever happened to 'Credit where credits due' or 'Last man standing'. By making claims of a fix he disrespects Chad Mendez and himself, nobody else. Aldo does'nt like the Reebok deal? Did you read the contract Jose?? I'm buying nothing but Reebok this year just because of all the sour faces on nike and the shit they're trying to stir up. You lost the contract Nike...make a better offer next time ffs

Let me give you a wake up call on Aldo : He pulled out of five title fights. Not a single UFC champion pulled out more then twice. He also has an average of 1.5 fights a year. He can't speak English. He can't promote. Anyone who makes money on fights will consider him a 'boring champion'. Aldo was a great fighter but his time is up. McGregor will eat him alive,whether you like it or not,not just because of fight preparation but because Aldo simply can't handle the pressure. On the UFC fighter union thing,i agree and i think it should be done. I also think Reebok pays very little to fighters but still brings alot to the MMA in general. This is the fight game,fighters hype fights,not just promoters. Promoters handle the media,hotels,schedules,accomodations,staff,agents,managers,comissions,doctors,organisation and security,etc.., If you guys think all they do is count money,well then.. you don't really know much do you? A person like Aldo is a nightmare for even the best of promoters. If McGregor manages to beat him,Aldo is done for,no1 outside Brazil will even mention him. That's how rough the fight game is. Deal with it.I don't want people to get me wrong,Aldo does seem like a nice guy, a regular,family man. Not only that, but he is a great fighter in general. But his time is up.

Na verdade quis fazer uma analogia com a desconfiança do Gestor do UFC com o José Aldo e a luta do Chad, que poderiam desconfiar dele também, como se a luta tivesse sido combinada, o que não acredito, mas também não ponho minha mão no fogo por ninguém. Turboz Raw I feel really sad for you since you obviously don't know MMA or fighting in general. Mendes couldn't take those body shots so he dropped his hands for two reasons 1) To better protect his midsection 2) He absorbed so much shots to the body it screwed up his cardio thus made him dropped his hands. Anything you say beyond this point will require me to further educate you so just don't reply. By the way, saying a guy who faked an injury and pull out of a fight like a coward as a champion will "destroy" a guy who show up to fight is hilarious :D

The McGregor/Mendes fight was fixed! The fans have to stand up and expose this shit! Otherwise MMA will die just like boxing.

Coming from a fighter who just want respect for all fighters, is something spacial. UFC wasn't build on Dina or one fighter…if you ever see the Octagon after ever event, is painted with many fighter's blood, sweat, tears….etc. Now UFC fighters dressed like NBA or Baseball players with sponsors like Reebok, why can they get pay like the rest of the pros. After all this is a global sport.

Ford SVT To use your comparison to MLB, NBA etc, all of the players play on 1 team. That one team has to pay the wages to all of it's 370+ players. Also, you only take to the field 2 or 3 times a year and over 300 of your players don't bring in any money yet. The UFC is keeping them on the roster hoping that one day they will become a big player. So in that way, I don't think the UFC are bad employers. But the Reebok deal is a joke. You should get to have your own sponsors and make as much or little as the sponsors are willing to pay.

Ford SVT You can't compare UFC to NBA. They're not even in the same bracket in term of how much money they generate in a year. Expecting the same pay only shows how much you don't understand business. This is why there are Dana Whites in the world, because they know how to run a business without crashing it into the ground.

Guys, now we are all equipped with the latest technology to be able to connect to the rest of the world. At a touch of a button we can make a video for/against a cause and have it uploaded on to social network. But we are so, I can't think of a word, cause there are several, let's just say, full of ourselves, that we don't bother. But we have do have the courage to shred the words of others who do stand for a cause, who make their opinions public, who don't fear the backlash, criticism, character assassination they may receive as a result of expressing themselves. I commend Wanderlie Silva for his effort for taking time to stand up for what he believes and anybody who does that has earned their respect in my eyes.

Aldo signed up to defend his belt against Conor on July 11th, 2015. Conor showed up..., Aldo didn't.... Simple as that. Any excuses for why he didn't show up doesn't matter. If you can't defend your belt you should lose it. No more interim titles. At a minimum, i think if a fighter can't defend their belt atleast once a year they should be stripped of the belt. Give other guys a shot at the glory and riches that come from being champion

You know I thought it was fixed when I was watching it. Mendes never fights like that, he was flat footed, had no movement, could easily take Mcgregor down when he wanted to however. He honestly was letting Mcgregor hit him. In the end UFC makes more money with Mcgregor winning. He's the biggest star by far, Mendes basically showed up, and allowed Mcgregor to beat him, and it wouldn't be surprising if UFC gave him a few million to do so.

That title could have been his life's achievement. That's what happens when you're in there with someone who's so good, even the best can't get off. Chuck Tate I agree, after watching the fight there was something not right. I never seen a fighter being so happy by loosing. He looked fresher the Conor after the fight. Conor was thanking him like he was god. First time seeing Conor's other side. I don't hit either fighter but UFC has turn there back on there fighters. It just left a bad taste in my mouth.

Honestly man, Mendes was stationary because he gassed. The body kicks/punches played a factor but mainly taking the fight on short notice is what had Mendes tired so quick. Now what I do find suspicious is how quick Herb stopped the fight. Normally in that scenario the ref gives fighters covering up, about 10 seconds or 5 seconds at least. Herb on the other hand stopped it right when he could!

Yes nasty things happen. Also Chad vs Conor was clearly a fixed fight. Chad put on a show but he knew he had to lose so he was waiting against the fence and took a few average shots from Conor and then curled up and gave up. Nearly too obvious. Though the good thing for MMA fans are people like Aldo who I feel would never agree to taking a dive and that if Conor vs Aldo happens we will see Conor in a true fight and likely end up being smashed badly. The UFC know this but they can still make money off him. They will book Chad vs Conor 2 after Conor has lost to Aldo of course, (which I believed they promised Chad a legit rematch) and they will hype off the whole "two weeks fight camp" thing. Then when Conor likely loses that they still have one money fight left for him. Against Lamas, win or lose against Lamas it would be the end for Conor though. He would likely retire anyway "get in, get rich and get out" Conor said himself. And at that point Conor will be rich enough to live the rest of his life without ever doing anything. The UFC also would have made a lot off him also.

ziongite Oh and yes the UFC clearly did pay that local doctor to claim that Aldo's rib wasn't broken. Heck I bet they even hoped that Aldo believed it himself and then went on with the fight. But Aldo isn't as stupid as many the UFC thought, the UFC's little plan didn't work. I am grateful for guys like Aldo in fact, they don't let the promoter just manipulate them.

Wand. Here's a lesson about how business goes in America. 1) The owner/CEO/head guy of the business does what he wants. It's good to be king. Dana White is king. Look at it that way, because like it or not that's the way it is. You aren't going to win here. 2) Fighters are the "working class" in the UFC. In America, workers at a company, in general, keep their mouths shut and do as they are told or leave the company. This is your choice and your place as a worker. Work your butt off and make money for the owner. If you don't like it, find something better. As much as you want Dana to do what he's "supposed to do" in your eyes or what you wish him to do, you are just a worker bee. He runs the show and will do as he pleases. You are replaceable. Even if you are at the top, and think you are not replaceable, trust me, you are 100%. 3) UFC fans are fans of the sport and will watch no matter how butthurt fighters become. Dana also knows this. That's why he does as he damn well pleases and you get to deal with it and cry. Start your own fighting federation to combat him if you think things are unfair. Maybe you will do better! If not, continue to cry, it will do you no good. You will waste your breath and Dana will continue to do as he pleases while making insane money. Such is the life of an owner of a profitable business in the US.

Goghrod Where am I "worrying" about anything. I don't have anything on the line. I watch UFC because I like it. I'm not a worker bee unhappy with my boss in the UFC. If I was, I would leave. People just get mad when the truth is presented to them. If you aren't happy in any situation in life, be man enough to change it or leave and do it better yourself. Dana is the one on top. Wand is a pathetic cryer. Like I said. Good to be king. I will continue to watch UFC because it doesn't affect me adversely at all.

talking about how a guy who went 5 rounds with aldo, spent an entire round on top of connor, wasn't doing much offense, and was only throwing a single elbow every 10-15 seconds, lets connor up (who had no ground game and made no attempts to stand) and then is suddenly "SOO gassed" from lying on top of a guy for 1 round giving barely any output. And then he had been getting punched and kicked an entire round, but suddenly gets "tko'd" by a cross that doesn't hit him that hard as he's moving away. And he didn't even get rocked, he just fell and then looked like he decided to turtle and give up for no reason. And to make it more obvious right when the fight was over he immediately popped up and was hugging/smiling/joking with connor, not something you ever see from a guy who just got rocked and knocked out. He's happy though he got 500k. So all that was what I was talkin bout, sorry boutcha

It's about time someone spoke up on behalf of Jose Aldo, and who else better than Vanderlai Silva? Jose Aldo is the best featherweight fighter in the world. Jose's hard work, effort and commitment keeps the UFC in business and makes fans want to watch superior athletes do what they do best. Then, you see what's been going on this past year. I've heard a lot of people say the UFC is turning in WWE wrestling. At first I couldn't agree, now after seeing this Connor Mcgregor business, I can't help but agree. It doesn't matter anymore if the best athlete wins, people only want to see the guy with the biggest mouth and the biggest ego win. Jose Aldo must be feeling pretty bad about how he's been treated by the UFC. He's brought fans in, made the company money, then they turn the guns on him. I've had bruised ribs from a fight. It hurts to breathe. I was out of training for a month. Even if his ribs were bruised, there's no way he could have fought. Lately I've watched too many people taking dives in the UFC in the past year. You can see as clear as day that punches haven't connected and people fall down like they've been knocked unconscious. It's become decadent and corrupt. The way the owners of the UFC have treated Jose Aldo has lost the organisation respect from their fans. The UFC is dead, it is the sport of fiction. Chad Mendes whooped Connor Mcgregor for two rounds then got ko'd from one punch? I don't think so. As soon as the UFC has competition, true athletes can play their sport and true champions will win. The UFC can turn into WWE wrestling and be all about money. The real athletes can then carry on doing their thing. I've lost all my respect for Dana White through this. Jose Aldo is a true champion and respect to Vanderlai for speaking out. Bring back Pride FC.

Everything that this man said is 100% true!!! It's the promoters job to build up the fight and at the end of the day make money himself/UFC money. People need to realize that Dana doesn't give a shit about the fighters. Not even a little bit. The only reason they put the drug testing in place is to please the public to in turn make more money. Not for the fighters safety. Lets think about what the UFC did with the sponsorships here. They told the fighter they could still be sponsored by them but they can't rep them in the cage. That is the way they get paid by these sponsors. Then they make them wear only the Reebok and ufc logo in the cage and literally pay them shit!! On top of that the UFC then puts all of the sponsors the fighters usaully rep for cash on the CAGE FLOOR AND ALL OVER THE CAGE ITSELF!!! UFC could've just made the fighters put the Reebok logo front and center and let them still get paid. But instead made a calculated move and STOLE THE MONEY FROM THE FIGHTERS!!! Who do you think is getting all the money the fighters used to get. "Hey the fighters cant put your logos on there clothes now but we can put it in the octagon for the whole show😉" I truely feel for these fighters and really hate Dana White now more then ever. What a piece of shit. Sitting next to Conner in a meeting talking shit about another fighter. Smh...its really embarrassing.

I agree with everything said, but on the other side of the coin Aldo should know by now to watch out in training, how many times has he pulled out from the same injury?? He should be more smart about training safe especialy before a mega fight like this was supposed to be. Imagine you youre dana it has to piss you off bad, at least I would be upset about Aldo pulling out after all the investments that were made, UFC were lucky Conor didnt complain about opponent change.

The UFC need to show Aldo a lot more respect. Yes, they are a business, they will back the fighters bringing in the $$$$, that's just the way all businesses run. PEDs are big with Brazilian fighters but I do feel the Aldo has pulled out of too many fights, and raises a lot of question marks. However, the drug test results came back negative for Aldo against McGregor, so now Aldo just has to try and wreck the McGregor gravy train to prove himself as no.1 today. Aldo is going to get knocked out I feel by Conor.

before I heard any comments I intuitively felt some of the fights were fixed.

It's still not clear whether Aldo's rib was bruised or broken. Aldo says broken, but Dana said it was bruised, and then again doubled down on that, saying for sure it was 'bruised' not broken. I dont think the CEO would double down on a lie like that but i also dont think Aldo would lie about his injury either. There's so many conflicting reports i dont know what to think anymore
