1st one sounded best, great job doing that solo! I tried the Pinnacle years ago when I was using amps for gain and that pedal was ok but not warm and amp like! Now since I been using the bogner pedals those convinced me there good as amps distortion. The red gets yeah that EVH tone pretty good even though your sample was real good but plugging in my Fender I bet the Bogner with boost with win with its fat and dynamic tone! well done again.

Martin Smith Thank you. I sold the Pinnacle and kept the Plextortion but not using it at the moment. I guess it was a flavor of the month thing for me

Based on what I hear in this video, I may give the Plextortion a try because I'm looking for something that is slightly different than my older Pinnacle. I have both the older and newer versions of the Pinnacle Deluxe. The older version is THE BEST pedal I have ever used for JTM / JMP tone on the vintage setting whereas the newer version has more gain but is more harsh and brittle sounding. I've read up on the Plextortion and Brian has said it doesn't have the sag of the Pinnacle and has a bit more punch and a little more gain. Is that correct?

Hey hey. Thanks for watching. Yes that would be right. The pinnacle was waaaaay saggy. I had to severely lower the pickup height on my guitar to reduce the output going to the pedal or else it sagged and compressed too much and it got really mushy. Ended up selling the Pinnacle and keeping the Plextortion. And yeah, the Plextortion DOESN’T sag like the Pinnacle does. It’s more like a “JCM 800” style pedal. Bloody fantastic really.

@@GATvsGAT Thanks for the insight. I'll give the Plextortion a try. I absolutely LOVE British Plexi tones. I have a hand wired clone of a JMP 1986 bass head I had built about 13 years ago. It's a hair less hot than the 1987 but delivers twice the flexibility in tone with its extended lows. Can't wait to try the Plextortion with it.

+JJDPRO MEDIAPRODUCTION Agree. Its also very saggy and very sensitive to the signal output level from the pickups in the guitar.Hence why it is no longer on my pedal board and switched over to a Goosoniqueworx 7thvn..... Now that is an amazing pedal.

+GATvsGAT Exactly!! Maybe I'm doing something wrong with my Pinnacle Deluxe? But, the sag is very annoying.

+JJDPRO MEDIAPRODUCTION Wampler did a video about lowering your pickups so that they are further away from the strings hence producing less output signal going to the pedal. Hi output pickups and signals cause the pedal to over compress and become saggy. Such a pain to even bother with all that cos then the output is too low for other sounds that you might want out of the same rig like say a clean sound etc.

+JJDPRO MEDIAPRODUCTION Well on that first album obviously Ed liked a bunch of treble with hair on top.
