Great job Walter Trout, great young acts like Toby Lee will keep the blues alive, and great artists like yourself taking the time to play and inspire Toby is what it's all about.

I've listened to Walter forever. Love his music, but he just gained my greatest respect, putting Toby out front. Walter, Buddy letting these kids do their thing. The blues will live for another generation.

This kiddo is absolutely amazing! I have been watching and listening to his videos all day!!! GO TOBY GO!!!! (Keep playing those blues - esp Stevie Ray Vaughn!!! My fave!)

Talent at rhe level of a prodigy, with style of delivery and a soul full of confidence!!! He owned the stage. I noticed two things1) a little after he started he turned around to see the stage and the drummer - while playing; 2) twice when he was given an opportunity to tango play, he ensured he didnt overdo Walter. Thats a sign of total control and maturity!! Loved the way he enjoyed himself!!!

That kid is an old soul, he's reincarnated he looks like he's right back at home where he once was and all is right where it should be. What an awesome sight. He's fantastic!!!!

sorta reminds me of when "monster" mike welch used to have his parents bring him into the local clubs coz he was soooo "under age"-this lil man here had me almost falling out of my chair yesterday! and PLEASE FOLKS: enough w/the SRV comparisons or.....PLEASE? yes all musicians (artists of all genres) toss some of their mentors, heroes, etc into their music. Ronnie Earl for example: Magic Sam, T Bone Walker...on and on. let this young man BE his own man/guitarist. nuff said!

walter was havin a ball, that young man can flat out PLAY. whoever in the crowd said WOW IS RIGHT. WOW

I did a search for Toby after he was mentioned by 'Whispering' Bob Harris, and was delighted to find among the many treasures this clip with Walter; who in my opinion can do no wrong. wonderful to see him looking so good after last years scare. Despite the appalling sound quality on this video I have watched it at least twice every day since mid December. Why? Because the two of them are obviously having a ball; I sit here with a stupid grin on my face simply because I am seeing two people doing what they were born to do. Keep on doing it, forever, if you don't mind.

What makes a legend is his abillity to play, but also his abillity to make space for the youngsters. Walter you are a legend in my eyes. Take care :-)

Toby, there are people with sour minds and sour souls who have nothing better to do than inflict their unhappiness on others. Ignore dislikes, as those are examples of what I just described. You do an excellent job and seem like an intelligent dude. I love your playing and appreciate it more than you could possibly know. Rock on!

When I was 10, I was trying to get "skip to my lou" going and this kid smokes up the fretboard!! I ended breaking my guitar over my teachers head (long story...)....acoustic from China. Now have real one's and still trying to get "skip to my lou" going 42 years later...

The music lives on by being passed down to the next generation.Great to see this.

I have see Walter and he gave my friends lad a Plectrum or pick because he was there in fron't having fun. I know there is a lot of good blues guitarists and Bands but then there is BB king Gary More as well as others but people forget the great Walter Trout and what he does for Blues and also to help stop others making bad choices as he speaks out about that too. To prove it, he does something like this finding a young talent and gives a helping hand to play with Walter and the Band is amazing.

I went on the KTBA cruise in February and Walter Trout was one of the artists, best time and music ever from everyone! Joe Bonamassa's KTBA cruise is a fund raiser for music in schools. He donates instruments, money,music etc. He was mentored as a kid and he's paying it forward...

brlliant...saw Toby this year at Vonnies blues club in Cheltenham. He is the future!!

Quinn Sullivan, move way over. Toby has amazing awareness of what's going on around him and he not only has licks, but timing and a a feel for space in playing blues. He's not uncomfortable or intimidated, and he really can play. Only ten years old when this was shot. Really remarkable. I've seen a lot of kids who can play really well but this is different. He has "IT" and that is not taught nor learned. It just is.

The best thing about this video is you can tell the kid already has an understanding of how not to wear out his welcome. Trout had to keep telling him "keep going" once he had played to the 5.
