    Can you recommend a good overall tool set for maintenance, and parts upgrades. Some of the nearby bike stores in my area seem to have attitude about working on department store/big box store bikes. I understand the bike stores position. Thanks.

    Thats pretty lame that you would get shade from a bike shop. I've heard those stories. As far as tool kits go, I have this one. It's cheap but it gets you what you need. amzn.to/3zBaSyI I also usually carry the crank brothers multitool on rides. If your looking for upgrades, this would be high on my list (if you wanna keep it somewhat budget friendly) amzn.to/3LbemdY I've used them. They work good. Hope this helps

    Works as a dad bike only jumps I have are off curbs and tall speed bumps so far nothing has broken but I like it is very basic and entry level and I can customize it with parts I want. Am getting longer dirt jumper forks just for the look and durability. Currently on thick slicks and will soon get a new derailleur and new casset more for speed if possible I like the simplicity of cable disc brakes as repair is more easily accessible

    Marlin has much better components in general, but Ozark Trail _is_ a very nice basic bike and/or upgrades platform that can be built up to the same level for relatively cheap (if you have the know-how for it). I wouldn't feel bad, the Marlin's a good value too and a slightly better starting point.

    I purchased one 3 weeks ago. On my very first ride did not even make it out my garage. Went to pedal and the left one broke. Completely came off the bottom bracket. Returned it the same day. Junk. Went to Dicks sporting good and got me a GT Aggressor for 350. not one issue so far. This bike is Junk.

    You were supposed to grab the $15 ozark trail aluminium pedals with the ridge. I think that's the reason they kept the bike cheap with plastic pedals. Everyone changes pedals first.

  • @TheBatman933

    @TheBatman933

    2 ай бұрын

    Kind of hard to replace the pedals when the threads came out of the crank arm with the pedal. Like you said. Kept the bike cheap because of cheap materials.

    @@TheBatman933 a lot of people put this bike through its paces. If you got a lemon you could return it and get a replacement since it comes with 90 day returns/two year warranty but I think you decided to settle with an inferior product and now you're trying to justify the bad purchase on the internet by spreading non-sense about a product that performs solid for so many people, especially with the last revision where it got acolyte/microshift derailleur with a clutch, 180mm disk brakes etc updates.

  • @TheBatman933

    First of all non-sense info Or false info?? Look Ozark fanboy! I purchased it and it broke. End of story. I agree that one bad purchase or lemon does not speak for all. It speaks for my purchase and my experience. You are entitled to your opinion however, does not change the fact that what i purchased was a p.o.s. If it works for you and other people great! Have fun go out and ride, enjoy it. Thats it. What I purchased as a replacement works for me. I like it, I am enjoying it, and guess what. It has not broken. Im sure it will. Even expensive crap breaks.

    Frames are made by Kent and have internal cable/line routing. I’ve put over 300 miles on mine in a month. Upgraded the seat, and to hydraulic brakes. More small upgrades planned….cassette/bottom end are next. But other than the gaudy OZARK TRAIL that screams WALMART……it rides like a $1,000 bike.
