i remember renting this as a 10 year old... on vhs, of course. anyone have the original "the wrestler", verne gagne, 1973? can't find it.

@BoarsHeadBill anyway you can upload the whole thing, i'd love to take that trip to my childhood... i was never crazy about adrians' androgenous gimmick, but the guy was a legit baddass that could "hook" just about anyone. great classic british submission expert.

Oh sh!t....that's me to the left of my mom at :39, 1:26-1:29, 4:25 and of coarse standing and chucking paper balls at the end in the black jeans and the white sweater with Wally's signature across the front. He signed it with a black sharpie I brought. I was 14 or 15 at the time.

Yes, Walter George Pearch (a.k.a., "Wally George") was a real guy. He out Jerry Springered Jerry Springer, years before him. Passed away from cancer 2003.

yes, he was also the father of Rebecca De Mornay, who wanted nothing to do with him once he had reached this point in his "career"

He was an entertainer. He was depicted as a angry , emotional person. I heard of some stories of him being chill and gracious in person.
