    Just a handy tip if you don't have an adapter that fits your hose perfectly. I see a lot of 3D printed ones that address this problem and I see a lot of videos of people using ugly aluminum tape by the pound. Don't tape it AFTER you connect, tape the male adapter end BEFORE with blue painters tape. The simple answer to most of these misfitting hose to coupler is just build up about 1/4" of blue painters tape on the male end of any duct adapter, now slide the hose over the tape and, poof, perfect fit. In many case, don't worry about the clamps, just put enough blue tape on the adapter to it fits super snug, but if you want to clamp, you have this nice semi solid seal of the blue tape. All this talk about gaping of the hose when you clamp is taken care of.

    Question: I saw you turned off the internal glowforge fan, but do I need to remove it or clean it? It seems like it would just become a dam for debris to build up around?

    what about adding a filter to the exact hose line, the smoke exiting the machine has matter particles in it. Doesn't it build up in the inline fan, also existing it outside be a bad thing for some people. Thanks for your help. Ps. Love the videos

    The internal fan for the glowforge is rated at 200cfm, so anything at or exceeding that rating will be adequate, regardless of ducting diameter. Hope that helps. 😁👍🏻

    do you need to remove the (not running) fan so there's nothing blocking the exhaust? (or does it have to blow the air through those non- spinning fan blades?)

  • @anavargas2096

    @anavargas2096

    2 жыл бұрын

    I'm trying to figure that out, not sure if it affects it but I think it does, the internal fan spins like crazy when the external fan is running at higher speeds. I will remove mine as I feel the airflow is being blocked by this internal fan.

    @@brittneylallier7909 So I ended up getting the filter. Although everything I read says everything dissipates within a few seconds, I decided to be as safe as I could as I have 5 kids. So I got the charcoal filter. I cut down the smell a bit, and I know its cutting down on the harmful chemicals as well. So my neighbors are happy and I also feel that I am not poisoning my family. WIN WIN! Although I am doing 4 inch pipe to the 6inch fan, back into a 4 inch pipe, to the 4 inch filter. I no I lose efficiency this way, but I happy with what I have. www.amazon.com/dp/B07GSKFBL8?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details
