Walking up Warden Hill, Luton - 4K - English Nature Reserve

Walking up Warden Hill, Luton.
Most people will know Luton for its airport, Vauxhall Motors, or its football club. But few people know Luton for the picturesque countryside that surrounds it. Galley and Warden Hill Nature Reserve is a Site of Special Scientific Interest within the Chiltern Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
We begin our walk by passing over chalk downland at the base of Warden Hill, an area which has been occupied since the Bronze Age. The Nature Reserve is home to rare varieties of plants and more than 20 species of butterfly. The Icknield Way Path passes through the hills.
At the top of the hill there are panoramic views of both Luton and the Bedfordshire/Hertfordshire countryside beyond. London Luton Airport’s control tower is clearly visible, as are the high rise flats of the Marsh Farm estate.
Towards the end of the video, you can spot a red kite flying over the hills.
