Detroit is not what they told us it is 😂. We had a blast there, top notch. If there is one thing I never knew about Detroit it’s that the people are amazing. Super warm and welcoming, just an overall friendly vibe. I was super impressed with the atmosphere

@@donbur1553 also the way the stadiums are built in to downtown is so great ! It’s like an open sports district. Ford field, Comerica park and LCA all within walking distance of each other. Super cool

It really warms ny heart because we get such a bad rep which just Isn't the case every city has bad things & people but overall it's a very cool place ! Where are u from if you don't mind me asking ? Detroit STAYS slept on....unless you go there. Once you do, it's beyond appreciated. The vibes. The energy. The safety. It's all there. Oh yeah, and to all the scared people, it's murder rate is the lowest it's been in like 30 years. People know that the city's coming back & crime is slowing down because of it. It's wonderful.

I missed out...the first 2 days it reached maximum capacity before I could get there and the last day I came when it closed down. Thank you for showing what it was like inside so I could see, we should make downtown a walking paradise all the time. It seems like people had a blast, I hope it was great, and people return for another visit soon!

People who haven't been around the city much don't realize just how back from the dead the downtown through midtown areas of the city are. There are still really rough neighborhoods in the residential areas but central areas, and Corktown are very revived. Detroit is quite used to blocking off central areas like this for public use as they don't annually for the Labor Day Detroit Jazz Festival, the world's largest free 4 day jazz fest where hundreds of thousands attend over the holiday.

Downtown detroit has been good since the late 90s. Spent A LOT of my high school years hanging out and partying Downtown. The recession in 08 was a minor setback for 5 to 6 years. That's about it. Downtown has been going strong for over a decade now. This isn't new.

Exactly. Detroit is no worse than any other big city in terms of any problem areas. It's great and there is always plenty of things to do. I never understood all the hate, either.

Very true. Though while I love and prefer Jazz fests over NFL drafts, this draft has already broken attendance records (>700k already) compared to around 300k for the jazz fest, and is showing off the potential of the area as a venue for events and fests like this
