I’ve done it. And overnight. It’s fine. Even better than some places; lots of eyes on the street. Safety in numbers and all that. The reason (white) addicts congregate there is precisely because it’s not as dangerous as the most bombed out part of a Philly war zone. They can sleep in their tent in relative security. They actually look out for one another. Weird as it sounds they’ve created “community” and people flock to that as much as they do the drugs.

Just stop it. Philly is the absolute worst!!! Lived there for decades and each year it got worse and worse. The few nice neighborhoods that were there are now run over with crime. The violence, filth, ignorance, and degradation that abounds in that city is absolutely mind blowing. Even worse are the apathetic attitudes of most residents who simply don't care. Moved away last year, almost 10 states away. GOOD RIDDANCE!!!

There is no excuse for the government not helping these people on the streets. They should be doing WAY more and America indeed is a joke for this. HOWEVER, this is not an either/or issue. With that aid money being sent over, Americans are fighting the threat of Russian imperialism WITHOUT having to put Americans in combat. If Russia takes Ukraine, maybe they invade neighbouring states too... Eventually America would have to step in and fight Russia directly. That aid is EXTREMELY important for the future safety of what America considers liberal democracy. Whether or not liberal democracy is a 'good' thing is another story. America should be sending financial aid to allies while at the same time investing in anti-homelessness measures by like 10x. Think about it - with that financial aid, America is helping prevent the potential American lives lost (which would be HUGE and devastating) if they were to get in an armed conflict with Russia.
