Good perspective on the size of area covered. Great work Iceland, what an fantastic example you are, how well this situation has been handled 💖

I love it that the 50km sign is still there and nobody took it for a souvenir... 🤣 That's how I remember Iceland! Everywhere else it would be gone by someone already!

Going to see new lava is fascinating but walking on it is not a great idea. It’s unstable and if you go through you’ll get some very nasty burns.

If you fall in a pocket of lava you're not going to live to tell about it.

Too bad, this new 'road' will most likely be gone again very soon! BTW... Like your footage on the last few videos about Iceland, especially the drone ones!

@@PeteDarrell1972 if this happened in the United States all they would do is stand there and cry and look at it and not know what to do. Lmao

@@jeanineerickson7303Well, I'm an European and the most American I ever witnessed is Iceland. I know many places in Europe where nobody would have a clue about what to do in situations like that, but maybe because they never have to deal with it... !? Not so many places around the world where people need to deal with active volcanos like this and in the US it's Hawaii only. But respect to Iceland, nobody else nowhere did ever built a road over fresh lava till date... !

@@PeteDarrell1972 I love Iceland. Wish I could afford to visit. People are so strong!!! I'm from Minnesota. This state sux. Can't afford to move from here either. Ugh. Prayers for safety. I think another eruption will be close to the last one.

Why is the lava smoking? It can't be still warm from the last eruption can it?!

Lol... funny you! It'll stay hot for up to a few years, depends how thick it is. Why you think there is no snow covering it? The lava from 2021 is still smoking hot in some areas and liquid under the surface and mostly even warm enough to still melt the snow at the thin areas...
